Jeff Hardy Arrested on Drug Charges

According to the latest breaking news reports, former WWE star Jeff Hardy was arrested Friday on a variety of drug charges including trafficking of controlled prescription pills and the possession of anabolic steroids. These charges include felony trafficking in opium, 2 counts of felony possession w/intent to sell or deliver a Schedule III controlled substance, felony maintaining a dwelling to keep controlled substance. felony possession of cocaine, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

The Moore County Sherriff's office conducted a search of Jeff's home Friday which turned up 180 Soma prescription pills, 555 milliliters of anabolic steroids, powder cocaine and drug paraphernalia. The 32-year-old wrestling star was arrested and held in Moore County jail with bail set at $125,000. It was reported by website TMZ.com, that Matt Hardy posted Jeff's bail, and also that the street value of the drugs seized at Hardy's home was approximately $2,500.

It was just months ago that Smackdown superstar, and former World Heavyweight Title holder, Jeff Hardy, made his exit from the WWE stage. For the weeks prior to that, Jeff and CM Punk were engaged in a feud which centered on choices, morality and CM Punk's "straight-edge" preaching to the fans. Jeff had been previously suspended twice under WWE's Wellness Program rules, and was seemingly teetering close to being fired. But the popular star made a return to glory when he defeated CM Punk for the World Heavyweight Title, satisfying many of his loyal WWE fans. Punk won it back during an incredible Tables, Ladders & Chairs match, and then less than a week later challenged Jeff to a "Loser Leaves WWE" cage match on Smackdown. Punk won that match in clean fashion, and as Jeff said his goodbyes to the fans from the ramp, Punk rushed out from backstage to club him down with the World Championship belt. That was the last image seen of the star who reportedly left WWE on positive terms.

Details are still developing about Jeff Hardy being arrested. Jeff has been addressing the arrest situation on his Twitter account, claiming the media doesn't have the facts right. He also disputes TMZ's claims that it was his brother who payed his bail. Here's his recent Tweets:

"Alot of exaggerations are out there today, don't believe everything you read 4 it is not true, I am at home and fine-thanks for your concern.

For the record, Matt didn't bail me out, loan me money, or is his name on anything.. He's just learning about today's situation..

The media is the media, I wish they would at least report the story correctly & accurately. I will make a statement later."

Former WWE Star Kurt Angle Arrested

It's not often that you'll see mention of WWE's competitor TNA or its superstars here, but this story involves a former WWE Superstar, who is considered one of wrestling's all-time greats. In recent breaking news, TNA World Champion Kurt Angle was arrested in Pittsburgh on Saturday for charges of driving while operating privilege is suspended, prohibited acts-possession, harassment and prohibited acts.

The arrest apparently came due to Angle stalking a girlfriend and TNA Knockout (Trenesha Biggers). She had filed a protection from abuse order against him earlier in the day, then phoned police from a Starbucks later when she spotted Angle nearby, driving her car. The police also found HGH in Angle's car, which the wrestler claims he had legal prescriptions for.

Angle has since posted bail and was released from jail. He's scheduled to defend his title at a TNA Pay-Per-View on Sunday night and is expected to continue with the original plan to be there. As of now, the TNA Wrestling organization has not made official comment.
