The ECW Champion

WWE.com revealed the following spoiler from its latest taping of ECW:

"The Punk era has begun in the Land of the Extreme. At a television taping in Cincinnati Saturday night, CM Punk made the most of his No. 1 Contender status and defeated John Morrison for the ECW Championship. Witness the Straightedge Superstar making Extreme history for yourself, when ECW on Sci Fi airs this momentous ECW Title Match in its entirety, Tuesday night at 10/9 CT."

Congratulations to Punk for finally capturing the title. This could also very well be a sign that Morrison is amongst those suspended. However you'd have to ask why Morrison was wrestling if he was suspended? Could be the WWE decided to start the suspension a day or so late. Check out WWE.com for the latest.

It's not that Morrison is suspended, it's that CM Punk finally won his title. CM Punk rules! (Not really. Jut needed something to say.)

It's good to see Punk finally capture the ECW title. Good move, based on his straight-edge approach to things..And true, Morrison is not confirmed as suspended, but this makes you believe he is just a bit more.

Morrison is suspended. If you know anything then you know that WWE and Vince McMahon are known to suspend wrestlers without pay but make them still attend and perform on the shows. Morrison has been suspended, thats why he was stripped of the title, and he worked that match for free. If you read all the articles you even posted yesterday you would know that some of the guys suspended have probably just had their pay suspended. Orton worked for free during a suspension in the past, it would seem Morrison did this one show. Dont expect to see him on the rest of the shows, nor at house shows for the next month.

Others possibly suspended like Kennedy, who are involved in high storyline cases, will more than likely still be on tv but just wont be getting paid for it. McMahon hated the fact that in the past it was killing storylines so they had to have them on tv, just not pay them. They do get pulled from house shows and such though.

Anonymous, thanks for the opinion/comemnt - regarding your info, this is what the Wellness Program Outline states from WWE.com:

"After the baseline test, subsequent positive tests for non-medical
use of a prohibited substance will result in disciplinary action. For testing positive the
first time, a Talent will be suspended for 30 days without pay. A second positive test
results in a 60-day suspension without pay or, if Dr. Black so determines, in-patient care
at a substance abuse facility, during which the Talent also will be suspended without
pay. A third positive test results in termination."

That obviously is not clear one way or the other if a guy works events or not, it just says "suspended without pay". Jeff Hardy was not on Raw for several weeks. Maybe the policy should be more clear.

I don't work for WWE or know Vince McMahon personally. If you have a source for what you're saying about suspensions I would be interested in reading it. My question to you would also be "why change the titles over?" - if these guys will still be performing. I guess we will see if they are on the shows or not, but I tend to like to see information confirmed. Nothing has truly been confirmed by WWE other than 11 suspensions were given.
