The 11th WWE Suspension

Apparently there has been an 11th WWE performer suspended. There are still no confirmed names by WWE and the public may never see an official list of who was suspended.

From Newsday.com:

"After announcing the suspension of 10 wrestlers Thursday, WWE attorney Jerry McDevitt Friday confirmed to Newsday one more suspension. Although WWE has not released any names, the suspensions came after WWE learned from Albany prosecutors that several wrestlers had received steroids and other drugs from an Internet dealer under investigation.

Sports Illustrated reported that among the wrestlers who illegally received drugs from Signature Pharmacies were WWE headliners Randy Orton, Ken "Mr. Kennedy" Anderson, Adam "Edge" Copeland and John "Morrison" Hennigan.

Former WWE stars Chris Benoit, Eddie Guerrero, and Brian Adams, who have all died since 2005, were also named as customers. Police say Benoit had high levels of testosterone in his system when he killed his wife, son and himself in June.

Ten of the suspensions are for 30 days. One is for 60 days, indicating it was a second violation.

WWE also said it would be changing its policy as of Nov. 1 to go public with the names of any performer who violates the drug policy."

While we may never see a confirmed list of who was suspended, what we will see is certain wrestlers missing from Raw, Smackdown, ECW and the Unforgiven Pay Per View card. It's going to make it very interesting how WWE handles their storlyines and shows from here. For example, Mr. Kennedy was rumored to be on the suspended list. If he is indeed the rumored "son of Vince McMahon" according to the storyline WWE has, it would put yet another WWE story on the backburner. They could still develop the story, but rumor sites seemed to think Vince would discover his son's identity on the September 10th Raw.

Also, several of the names are headliners or major characters for WWE now. Randy Orton (also rumored to be suspended) was most likely going to face John Cena at Unforgiven in some capacity, but not with a 30 day suspension. John Morrison of ECW was set to defend his title yet again versus CM Punk. Then you have William Regal, recently made GM of Raw. It will look interesting to not have a GM for 30 or 60 days. Best guess, the WWE creative team will be working some serious overtime with this.
