Raw Recap 02.04.08

Raw Recap from University of Texas:

Raw started off with Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler announcing tonight's lineup including John Cena vs. Mark Henry in an arm wrestling contest. Ross said Hornswoggle would also be inducted into Mr. McMahon's Kiss My Ass club tonight.

Randy Orton shown in a fully decorated ring for the WWE title contract signing. Orton held the contract in hand and told the audience he wants to make sure Cena is held to his word and he has No Way Out of the match. Orton called out Cena who was shown walking backstage on the Titantron. Cena came out to a cheering crowd and got into the ring where Orton was seated with his feet up on the table. Cena posed for the crowd then shoved Orton's feet off the table before sitting down. Cena signed off on the contract.

Orton told Cena he is still going to fight him at No Way Out even if Cena re-injurs his pec against Mark Henry tonight. Just then, Henry came charging out from backstage down to the ring. Cena got up and prepared to fight him, but Orton caught Cena off guard with the RKO. Cena was left laying on the mat as a ref came over to stop Henry from getting into the ring.

Backstage, Todd Grisham interviewed Randy Orton who was with Mark Henry. Grisham asked why they set up John Cena just now. Randy Orton said they didn't set anything up, it was William Regal. Orton said Henry just happened to show up on his own

Kelly Kelly & Mickie James vs. Victoria & Beth Phoenix

Kelly managed to get several moves off on Victoria including getting up on Victoria's shoulders to flip her down to a pinfall. Mickie tagged in and Victoria was able to turn the tables. Beth Phoenix came in and Mickie tried to put a submission squeeze on Beth. Beth rammed Mickie to the corner, but then the two divas knocked into each other from the corner and fell to the mat. Victoria tagged in and ran over to knock Kelly off the apron. Mickie then got up and ran at Victoria and grabbed her, then connected on a DDT off the ropes. Mickie took the pin, then motioned to Beth she wanted the Women's belt.

Winners: Mickie James & Kelly Kelly win via pinfall over Beth Phoenix and Victoria.

Backstage William Regal told Hornswoggle to do as his father tells him. Regal told Hornswoggle he's part of the club already so Horney should be proud to join. The segment cut off as Raw went to commercial.

Shawn Michaels came to the ring to talk about being in last year's Wrestlemania main event and coming very close to beating John Cena. Michaels said he's unsatisfied and that everyone in the Elimination Chamber is on notice. As HBK continued all of a sudden Chris Jericho's music came on and Y2J came down to the ring. Y2J said he agrees with almost all that HBK said, except for the fact that he will win the Chamber. Y2J said nobody has been in more chamber matches than he has. Y2J said he has a strong desire to reach Wrestlemania and nobody will beat him. Just then, Jeff Hardy emerged from backstage and came to the ring.

Hardy told HBK and Y2J it's great they want to get back to Wrestlemania's main event. Hardy said he's never been in the main event there so he will put it all on the line to get there. Next up, JBL's music came on and JBL walked down to the ring. JBL told Hardy, Y2J and Michaels that Umaga is going to guarantee his safe passage to Wrestlemania 24. Just then, Umaga came out from backstage. JBL started to clap for him, but as Umaga got into the ring he cornered JBL and stared him down. Suddenly, Snitsky emerged from backstage.

Snitsky got into the ring with the mic and said he deserves to be in the chamber match. Michaels took a mic and told Snitsky they all would agree he shouldn't be in the match. Michaels said he'd tell him in a language he understands, and then went over and punched Snitsky. All 6 men began to fight and finally Regal ran out from backstage. Regal said they will have a preview of the Chamber match with a 6 man tag tonight. Michaels, Jericho and Hardy vs. JBL, Snitsky and Umaga.

Mr. Kennedy vs. Super Crazy

Kennedy took out Crazy's leg early on with a dropkick. Super Crazy started to punch back at Kennedy, but Kennedy tripped him down to the mat then began to work on his leg. Kennedy tried to stretch Crazy's leg down on the mat, but Crazy used his free leg to hit Kennedy with. Kennedy locked an inverted Figure Four in on Super Crazy to finally make him tap out. After the match Kennedy held the hold a bit longer until the ref broke it up.

Kennedy grabbed the mic from overhead after his win. With the arena dark and the spotlight on him, Kennedy directed the audience's attention to the Titantron. Footage was shown of the MVP Flair match from Smackdown. MVP was disqualified for not breaking a reverse Figure Four when Flair went under the ropes. After the loss, MVP took out the frustration on Flair's leg smashing it against the ringpost and steel steps. Kennedy made it known to Ric Flair that he can come out on next week's Raw and forefeit the match.

Winner: Mr. Kennedy wins via submission over Super Crazy.

Commercial shown for Project Runway on Bravo this Wednesday at 10PM EST. The show will feature WWE divas in action.

Reported Mike Adamle was shown near the crowd and introduced a segment highlighting past Elimination Chamber matches.

Santino Marella & Carlito vs. London & Kendrick

Kendrick hit an early standing dropkick to knock Carlito to the mat. Kendrick began flying around the ring and went to run off the ropes, but Santino pulled the ropes apart. Kendrick fell out of the ring, and London went to chase Santino around the ring. Kendrick got back into the ring. With the distraction going on, Carlito grabbed Kendrick inside the ring and did the Backstabber. Carlito picked up the pinfall win.

Winner: Carlito & Santino Marella win via pinfall over Kendrick and London.

Backstage Mr. McMahon was shown getting a "buffing" to prepare for the Kiss Mr. McMahon's Ass club inception.

Mr. McMahon Kiss My Ass Club

Vince strutted down to the ring and then told the audience about how he's made his employees kiss his ass in the past. Vince got on the crowd's case telling the parents of the audience they are pathetic in how they don't discipline their kids enough. Vince said as for the children, they are all spoiled brats thanks to bad parenting. Vince said enough about them and then asked Hornswoggle to come to the ring.

Vince got down on a knee and told Hornswoggle that this is gonna hurt him more than Hornswoggle. Vince dropped his pants and told Hornswoggle "kiss it". Hornswoggle backed away several times. Vince told him he didn't have all night. Hornswoggle went to kiss it but just then Finlay's music hit and Finlay came to the ring. Vince reminded Finlay that he pays his paycheck so after Hornswoggle kisses his ass then Finlay can next. Vince dropped his pants again for Hornswoggle. Finlay held back Hornswoggle. Finlay said something to Hornswoggle and the leprechaun then ran over and bit Vince on the backside. Finlay and Hornswoggle left the ring laughing and backed up the ramp.

An angry Vince yelled at the crowd and said if they liked that then they can watch him go one on one in a match against his own son next week. Vince said he's going to beat the hell out of his son and if Finlay interferes then he's fired.

Cody Rhodes & Hardcore Holly vs. Cade & Murdoch

Cade was returning from a shoulder injury for the match. Early on Holly tried to dominate but Murdoch used an atomic drop and a kick to Holly's face to knock him down. Cade tagged in and continued to beat on Holly. Holly managed to get a dropkick in and then both men crawled to their corners for the tags. Rhodes came in and started to beat up Cade. Cody gained momentum once Murdoch tagged in. Rhodes was about to score a move on Murdoch, but Cade came in to grab his partner. Hardcore Holly came in to chase Cade out of the ring. Rhodes was able to reverse a move by Murdoch and then DDT'd him to the mat for the pin.

After the win, Santino and Carlito came to the apron with Maria. Carlito told them that they have new #1 contenders for their tag titles so they should watch out.

Winners: Cody Rhodes & Hardcore Holly win via pinfall over Cade & Murdoch.

Behind the scenes for Wednesday night's Project Runway were shown with WWE divas Michelle McCool, Layla and Maria.

Jim Ross and Lawler discussed the card for No Way Out so far.

Jeff Hardy, Shawn Michaels & Chris Jericho vs. JBL, Snitsky & Umaga

HBK started off against Umaga with chops to the chest. Umaga tried to sit splash on Michaels in the ring but HBK moved away then dropped Umaga down. Y2J tagged in and tried to go at Umaga, but Umaga gained the upperhand. Once Y2J was down, in tagged Snitsky.

Snitsky tried to run at Jericho who moved away from the ropes. Snitsky landed on his groin on the top ropes and Jericho did a springboard off the ropes to kick him down. Hardy tagged in, then Jericho got down on all 4's. Jeff ran and jumped off Jericho's back to kick Snitsky in the corner. Snitsky eventually was able to gain control though and soon JBL tagged in. JBL turned the tables on Jeff's momentum push and tagged in Snitsky. Snitsky missed an elbow drop on Jeff, allowing Jeff to tag in HBK. HBK was able to lock a Figure Four on Snitsky down on the mat, until Umaga came in and broke things up. Eventually all 6 men got involved in the ring. Umaga spilled out of the ring and HBK jumped onto him over the top ropes. Raw went to a commercial break as the melee was clearing.

Raw returned with Snitsky and Chris Jericho both down in the ring. The three opponents eventually got Jericho into their corner where they started to beat him up. Umaga took the lead and continued to brutalize Y2J in the ring. Umaga had Y2J in a submission type bear hug. Jericho broke out and tried to come off the ropes, but Umaga grabbed him then slammed him with a Samoan Drop. JBL tagged in to beat up his familiar foe even more as he eventually delivered a huge boot to Y2J's face. Snitsky came back in and began to squeeze Y2J in a bear hug. Y2J got out of the hold but as he went against the ropes Umaga kneed him in the back.

Jericho was able to roll away when Umaga tried for a headbutt off the ropes. Umaga tried to pick up Y2J for a move, but Y2J ducked then hit Umaga with a spinning kick to the head. Finally Jericho stretched over and tagged in Hardy. Umaga tagged Snitsky in. Jeff took control of the match from here, after each of the wrestlers got into the ring and did their finisher. When the ring had cleared, Jeff was left alone with Snitsky. Jeff used the Twist of Fate on Snitsky followed by a Swanton Bomb to capture the pin.

Winners: Jeff Hardy, Chris Jericho and Shawn Michaels win via pinfall over Umaga, Snitsky and JBL.

John Cena vs. Mark Henry
Arm Wrestling Match

Henry backed away several times at the start, causing Cena to get angry. Cena became mad at the ref and turned his attention briefly. Henry quickly slammed Cena's arm, causing Cena to wince due to his injury and from the surgery to the pec. Finally the ref got the two to put their elbows on the table and they locked hands. Henry and Cena grappled and Henry tried to force Cena's arm down. As the two were battling, Randy Orton snuck into the ring behind Cena and grabbed him to try for a RKO.

Cena eluded Orton's move and tried to get him up into the F U. Orton slipped away and got out of the ring. Just then Henry came at Cena. Cena ducked then picked up Henry on his shoulders. Cena delivered the F U on Henry slamming him to the mat. Orton looked down to the ring from the top of the ramp as Cena stared back.

Winner: No winner due to Orton's interference.
