Raw is Televisa?
WWE Raw will begin airing in Mexico starting Sundays next month. The deal was inked by World Wrestling Entertainment with Televisa to show Raw on Galavision Canal 9. The move comes as WWE tries to increase its Latin American viewers, with Smackdown airing on Canal 52 and ECW on FX Latin America. Raw will begin airing on October 5th, Canal 9.
This comes right around the time Smackdown makes its debut on MyNetworkTV. You may have noticed that WWE wants to make its Smackdown debut a grand one, as it moved the WWE title with Triple H over, as well as commentator Jim Ross. The Undertaker has made his return (in a limited role), and Jeff Hardy, Mr. Kennedy, Umaga and Maria were amongst the brand's other top draftees. Currently, Mr. Kennedy and Umaga have been out due to injury, but should be back in time to bolster the brand. Another title was added as well in the Divas Championship, which All-American Diva Michelle McCool proudly wears around her waist. Smackdown is definitely bringing out its stars for its new channel.
WWE Raw on the USA network continues to be the star show of the 3 brands, bringing in the most viewers, and surpassing many other cable shows on Monday nights. WWE frequently shows statistics about how Raw has more viewers for the night than Nascar or MLB for its male demographics. Raw will most likely continue this trend, even though a recent injury to John Cena gave the show a dim outlook. With Chris Jericho crowned as new champ, Candice Michelle and Randy Orton returning, as well as stars like Kane, Rey Mysterio and Batista, Raw has plenty to look forward to.
