Smackdown Recap & Results from Las Vegas, NV:
Smackdown opened with Big Show arriving to the ring along with Chavo Guerrero. Big Show mentioned the Undertaker's chin and says Undertaker lost his mind for deciding to interfere in Big Show's match vs. Triple H. Big Show then demonstrated the three types of matches he may face Undertaker in at Cyber Sunday. The matches are Last Man Standing, I Quit Match, and a Knockout Match. Show fought amateur opponents in each type of match, dominating his opponent and winning each with little effort.Winner: Big Show wins Last Man Standing, I Quit Match, and a Knockout Match over amateur opponents.
Carlito & Primo Colon vs. Zack Ryder & Curt Hawkins
In a battle between the former and current tag champs, the Colons took on Ryder & Hawkins. PrimoColon got the win using a drop kick off the top rope and then scored the winning pinfall.
Winners: Primo & Carlito Colon win via pinfall over Ryder & Hawkins.
R-Truth vs. MVP
Prior to this match, MVP came out to the ring and discussed his reign as longest United States Champion in history. MVP added he's gointo do what Shelton Benjammin can't do, defeat R-Truth. In their matchup, R-Truth was able to gain momentum and eventually hit a spinning axe kick to knock out MVP
for a pinfall victory.
Winner: R-Truth wins via pinfall over MVP.
Big Show and Great Khali were in the ring for a promotional piece. Smackdown's GM Vickie Guerrero shows up and tells Khali to take out the Undertaker tonight.
Singh translates for Khali, saying he doesn't want to be a pawn in their game. Big Show and Khali have a stare down to end the segment in the ring.
Super Crazy vs. Ezekiel Jackson
Prior to the match, The Brian Kendrick arrived to the ring. Kendrick informed everyone due to doctor's orders he can'twrestle against Super Crazy tonight, but that his bodyguard, Ezekiel, will take his place. Ezekiel went on to easily defeat Super Crazy in the match.
Winner: Ezekiel Jackson wins by pinfall over Super Crazy
Triple H had a promo discussing his possible opponents at Cyber Sunday: Jeff Hardy, Vladimir Kozlov, or both men in a Triple Threat contest for the WWE title.
Undertaker vs. The Great Khali
This match ended in a DQ when the Big Show decided to show up and interfere. Show grabbed Undertaker andchokeslammed him, causing the ref to call for the bell. Big Show then retrieved a steel chair and tried to get Great Khali to hit Undertaker. The Great Khali batted the
chair out of Show's hands and left the ring.
Winner: Undertaker wins by disqualification due to Big Show's interference in the match.
Maria vs. Victoria vs. Natalya vs. Maryse vs. Brie Bella
"Las Vegas Poll Match"
In what was a very short contest, Maria was able to climb the corner and retrieve the item from the poll to win. Maria now is the #1 Contender for the Divas Championship and will face Michelle McCool for her title at a date TBA.Winner: Maria wins the Las Vegas Poll Match to become #1 Contender for the Divas Championship.
A colossal match is announced as main event for next week's Smackdown: Triple H vs. Undertaker!
Jesse & Festus b. Kenny Dykstra & Ryan Braddock
In this feud match, Braddock and Dystra had previously been taken out by Jesse and Festus' Smackdown moving company. In the match, Festus hit his flapjack slam to get the win via pinfall on Kenny.Winners: Jesse & Festus win by pinfall over Dysktra and Braddock.
Jeff Hardy vs. Vladimir Kozlov
Prior to the match, WWE champion, Triple H, came out to join Jim Ross and Tazz on commentary. This match had been building up for weeks, as Kozlov continually attacked Hardy in the ring. In the match, Kozlov was able to corner Jeff and hit a huge running power slam. Kozlov folled by putting an arm bar lock on Jeff down on the mat. Jeff finally recovered and was able to hit two Whisper in the Winds, to crash down onto Kozlov. Jeff went to the top rope and jumped off, but missed Kozlov on the attempt. Kozlov regains control of the match and is able to defeat Jeff using a headbutt.After the match, Triple H got into the ring and taunted Kozlov with the WWE belt. Kozlov backed off and left the ring. Triple H seemed to be helping Hardy up, then raised Hardy's hand, but kicked him in the gut, and hit the Pedigree. Smackdown went off the air with Triple H standing and Hardy down on the mat.
Winner: Vladimir Kozlov wins via pinfall over Jeff Hardy.
