Christian's WWE Return in 2009?

christian cage wwe tna wrestling The rumors have escalated into more valid speculation that Christian Cage is headed to WWE after his stint with TNA wrestling. Kevin Eck at Baltimore Sun Ring Post writes:

CHRISTIAN’S POTENTIAL WWE ROLE: Christian Cage appears WWE-bound and is expected to be revealed as the person who attacked Jeff Hardy before the Survivor Series, according to a report on prowrestling.net. I won’t be surprised if Cage signs with WWE, but I will be surprised – and disappointed – if he is revealed as the mystery man and not Matt Hardy. I just don’t find a Jeff Hardy-Christian feud nearly as compelling as a battle of the Hardys. There have been subtle hints of a Hardy boys feud on television, so if this report is accurate, either Matt Hardy was a red herring all along, or there was a change in plans. Until I see Christian with a smoking gun (and I’m not talking about Cute Kip), however, I’m not giving up on the Matt versus Jeff angle.

Blog commentary: I'm in agreement with Kevin, but bringing Christian back into the mix for the WWE title would definitely liven things up when there's been so many rehashed feuds. WWE constantly finds itself in need of good heel challengers beyond just Edge, Randy Orton and Chris Jericho. As for Jeff vs. Matt, that storyline of Matt attacking Jeff in a hotel room wouldn't make too much sense, unless they used a storyline of Matt envying Jeff having a shot at the WWE title which is considered better than the ECW belt. Matt might need to drop the ECW belt at some point and then they could lead into a battle for the WWE title at Wrestlemania 25, or just a good ol' fashioned brother vs. brother match. You'll recall in the past that Christian/Edge & Matt/Jeff were in many feuds and matches including classic TLC and Ladder matches for the tag team belts. Bringing a guy from TNA like Christian in, he can begin talking a bout how he didn't have enough challenge in the "other league" and had to return to WWE to go after its top title. After all, Cage is a former champion in TNA's organization, so a likely move would be to go for the gold in WWE.

Matt and Jeff feud? Come on guys! This is also a rehash deal. Christian has been gone a while now and it has been a very long time since there was Jeff vs Christian feud and Christian deserves a WWE title shot that he won't win if he goes up Jeff but it would make things quite interesting indeed cuz' it isn't just Jeff as a feuding partner when it comes to the title, it is Triple H, Edge, Undertaker, Big Show, Kozlov, etc. Plus, they got the new guy, Kzearney (I think that is how you spell his name) starting on Smackdown this week so there is potential for a feud there. Happy New Year's!

Happy New Years Samantha!

I think a Matt vs Jeff match could work and draw lots of attention, especially if they both were faces still, but were forced to fight at Wrestlemania 25...It could be a big ticket fight.

As for Kizarny there's a lot of excitement and hype for his debut, and most likely he starts off going after the US title that Shelton keeps hanging on to.

i agree with samantha matt and jeff a feud uh not going to happen it would be retarded and bringing christan back why don't they just put edge and christian back together i really don't want to see christian back. i think edge was the one who attacked jeff not christian but then again who knows but wwe needs to stop some of the ghetto storylines because some are just retarded

I would be amazing if christian would come back, he was always pretty underrated in wwe... I mean, he a better wrestler than matt hardy, matt can barely even move his legs, although, matt is an excellent showman
It would be cool if edge and someone else are the last two left in the royal rumble, and the 30th entry is christian
