Raw Results from Toronto, Ontario, Canada:

The show opened with Edge making his way to the ring.  Edge is back with The Cutting Edge and said Triple H wanted him to have Randy Orton as his guest tonight, his old Rated RKO partner.  Edge said Orton's too boring though, so instead his guest is Daniel Bryan.  Edge showed footage of Big Show KO'ing Bryan last week, and then asked Bryan if he can defeat Orton.  Bryan says he can.  Edge is talking but Orton's music hits to interrupt.

Orton trash talked about Canada, and Edge's broken neck injury.  Edge called Orton "spineless."  He brought up Triple H and that brought Triple H out.  Edge said he's not employed by WWE so HHH can't make him shut up with what he says.  Edge brings up that HHH didn't think he, Jericho or Cena would make it, but they did.  He said now HHH doesn't believe in Bryan either.  Triple H brings up the one guy he was right about, who was a failure - Edge.  He says Edge never drew a dime for the business.

Triple H said he'll let D-Bryan prove him wrong tonight, in a match against Dean Ambrose.  He says Bryan can have Big Show in his corner too.  Edge keeps going at it verbally with Triple H, who brings up Edge's hurt neck.  Edge calls HHH some more names and mentions he had to marry into success.  Triple H said he can't hurt Edge, but he can't hurt the ones he loves.  The Shield comes out from backstage dragging Christian.  They drop him on the ramp.  Edge rushed up to check on him with Orton, HHH and The Shield all heading backstage.

After a break, they showed Axel and a ref helping Heyman up off the floor backstage in a hallway area.  Heyman slipped on water out there and fell.  He asks for his own doctor to look at him, but the WWE doctor checks him out and puts some ice on Heyman's knee.

Backstage, Booker T comforted Big Show over what went down last week and suggested he shouldn't let his pride make a mistake he can't take back.  He brings up Rhodes getting fired last week.  Show says pride is about all he has left.  Booker tells him to just be a professional, but Show walks off.

Bray Wyatt defeated Dolph Ziggler via pinfall.  Late in the match, Ziggler hit a neckbreaker and then a big elbow for the 1 count.  Ziggler countered another Wyatt move and hit a leg drop for another near fall.  Rowan and Harper get up on the apron, but Ziggler fights them off.  However, the distraction allows Bray to eventually hit Sister Abigail for the win.  The Wyatts posed over Dolph after their win.

Paul Heyman came out to the ring with his own personal doctor and Curtis Axel.  He was on crutches and informed everyone he can't compete at NOC due to a torn ACL or something.  GM Brad Maddox comes out with the WWE Dr. Sampson and says the only way Heyman is cleared to withdraw from a match is after WWE's doctors check him out.  Dr. Sampson evaluates Heyman in a chair in the ring and he says he believes Heyman is fine and has no real issues.  Heyman complains about it.  CM Punk's music hits and he comes rushing down the ring with a kendo stick.  He unloads on Heyman's doctor and Axel.  Heyman runs away, proving his leg isn't that hurt.  Punk poses on the corner with the Kendo stick then takes out some more frustration on the fake doctor.

After break, Goldust is shown walking backstage when Stephanie McMahon comes up to him, saying he must be disappointed.  She says Cody and his new wife must be disappointed too since Cody is out of a job.  She says it's all because of Dustin, and now he left his family, father and the WWE Universe down.  She asked him how it feels to be a loser just like Cody, then tells Goldust to go join him on the unemployment line.  She says to tell Dusy she said hi.  Goldust walks off looking distrought.

Post-match, Randy Orton ran down to the ring, but Bryan did a suicide dive out onto him.  They began to brawl, with The Shield coming over to help Orton.  Big Show came over holding a steel chair but had to restrain himself from getting involved.  Shield and Orton roll Bryan into the ring, where Orton hits the RKO on Bryan.  Triple H and Stephanie come out, telling Show to get in the ring and knock Bryan out again.  Orton held up Bryan waiting for Show to hit the KO punch.  Show wouldn't do it and Orton tossed Bryan down to the mat.  Show turned his back on Orton and went to the corner looking out at the crowd.  Orton yells at Show ordering him to knock Bryan out.  Bryan came running out of nowhere and connected with a knee to Orton's face to leave him down on the mat.  Bryan takes the WWE title belt and poses over Orton as Raw goes off the air.

They showed Primo and Epico (with Rosa) arguing over their loss from earlier.  Abraham Washington came up to suggest they're being treated like jokes lately on the show.  He gave them his business card.

Brodus Clay and Hornswoggle defeated Jack Swagger and Dolph Ziggler due to disqualification.  The DQ came late in the match when Vickie slapped Brodus in the ring.  Post-match, she tried to make peace with Brodus and the Funkettes, but Hornswoggle bit her in the backside, causing Vickie to run off.  Hornswoggle, Clay and the dancers all danced to celebrate their win.

The final segment was the Brock vs. Cena contract signing segment.  At first only Laurinaitis and Lesnar showed up.  Cena's music played but he didn't come out.  Lesnar played up that he must be scared then went over the "changes" he wants to make to his contract with WWE.  He told Laurinaitis he won't be his puppet on a string, so he won't be fining him, he'll pay him more money.  Lesnar said he always will get to use Vince McMahon's jet to fly to and from the venues for Raw.  He also said any thought that goes through JL's mind goes through him.  Lesnar refused to sign the contract for Sunday's match until Laurinaitis gave him his new changes.  JL finally shook his hand in agreement, and Lesnar signed.

Finally, Cena's music hit and Cena came out to the ring wearing a big chain around his neck.  He acted nervous or scared slightly by Lesnar.  Lesnar started taunting Cena to sign the contract, saying this is real, he can tell he's been on Cena's mind and he's the reason he lost to Lord Tensai last week.  Eventually, Cena, clenching his chaing in his fist, signed the contract and threw it at Lesnar.  Lesnar went like he was going to attack, and Cena flipped the table over.  Lesnar circled the table, smirking at Cena before leaving the  ring.  Lesnar backed up the ramp with Cena staring out at him to close the show.

Source: WWE.com Top 25 Matches 2011

Any surprises there?  For starters, there's a match rom each of the television shows, sans Superstars.  The WWE may want to consider the caliber of matches given to fans on this show.  The list is also heavy on Pay-Per-View matches as one might expect, but seems just about right.  Some may flip-flop the top two matches based on personal preference, but for those that saw these bouts, they were certainly two of the better ones overall in terms of near finishes and crowd participation/hype.

What will 2012 bring?  WWE fans will expecting more epic encounters including the upcoming 2012 Royal Rumble, and The Rock vs. John Cena at Wrestlemania 28!

Smackdown Results 09/16/11

WWE Smackdown results from Toronto, Ontario, Canada:

The latest episode opened with the Rated-R Superstar, Edge, making his return to Smackdown for "Edge Appreciation Night." He started telling Toronto how good it feels to be back home, but Intercontinental champion Cody Rhodes rushed out to interrupt Edge and run him down. Cody bragged about his victory over Orton on Raw, then tried to hand a brown paper bag to Edge. Edge hands the bag back to Cody and tells him to put a paper bag on all of Smackdown instead. Edge leaves the ring.

Cody tries to go out to the crowd to give out paper bags to the audience members. Sitting in the audience is Ted Dibiase who punches Rhodes down.

Daniel Bryan won due to disqualification of Sin Cara. Sin Cara kept beating him up and wouldn't heed the referee's instructions. Post-match, the real Sin Cara came back and the two stared at one another.

Backstage, Teddy Long was talking to Smackdown assistant Zack Ryder. Ryder told Teddy he put a no contact order in place between Orton and Henry tonight. Aksana came into the scene and got Teddy to give her a massage. Trish Stratus arrives in and says she needs to talk with Teddy.

Beth Phoenix defeated AJ Lee by pinfall. Post-match, Beth vows to win the WWE Divas Championship from Kelly Kelly and then "save the divas division."

They showed Trish Stratus and Edge talking backstage. Christian walks up and apologizes to Edge for Summerslam. The two old friends hug, and Edge reminds Christian of what he said before, that Christian needs to stop whining so much. Zack Ryder enters the scene and informs Edge that on his "Cutting Edge" show tonight, his guests have a no contact order in effect.

In tag team action, Sheamus and Justin Gabriel defeat Wade Barrett and Christian by pinfall.

The Great Khali defeated Heath Slater due to disqualification. The DQ happened when Jinder Mahal came to the ring and attacked Khali. Khali chokeslammed both Slater and Mahal after the decision.

R-Truth defeated Evan Bourne in a singles match. The Miz and Kofi Kingston were providing guest commentary during the match.

The Cutting Edge hosted by Edge was the final segment for the show. Edge brought his guests Mark Henry and Randy Orton to the ring. Edge talked over Night of Champions and Henry's disappointing career. Henry gets upset over the comments but agrees with Edge. Edge suggests that maybe Orton can't defeat Henry either. Orton said he's sure he can. Henry said it's now his time for the World Title, and the Cutting Edge is over. The no contact order is now off, so Henry and Orton start to fight. Henry ends up hitting a pair of World's Strongest Slams on Orton, then poses with the World Championship belt to end Smackdown.

Christian Loses World Heavyweight Championship Fast

Within a matter of days, Christian went from sky high as World Heavyweight Champion, to down in the dumps, without the belt. The recent loss of the championship makes one question the value of the title and Christian's relevance to the company.

Christian won the title at last Sunday's Extreme Rules 2011 Pay-Per-View after defeating Alberto Del Rio in a ladder match. Just two days later (or five based on TV schedule), Christian lost in a main event match on Smackdown to "The Viper" Randy Orton. Just like an RKO, not many fans saw Christian's title loss coming, at least that quickly.

It looked like a "passing of the torch" as Edge was on hand to celebrate Christian's championship win at Extreme Rules. There was a championship celebration on Friday's Smackdown. That celebration was interrupted by Mark Henry and Great Khali, two guys who really have no business being part of the championship picture at this point. Randy Orton arrived out, and after Teddy Long polled the crowd, Orton was granted a title match. You'd think Alberto Del Rio might show up on Smackdown like he used to show up on Raw. Even Brodus Clay may have made sense to request the title shot.

What doesn't make sense is why the title was moved in this fashion and why Del Rio didn't win it. Does the WWE have little sense of direction for a heel like Del Rio? Is his time not right? It seemed as if a Wrestlemania 27 championship win would have been perfect for Del Rio, but of course Edge was retiring and deserved one last Wrestlemania moment.

Christian winning the title was a great moment in the history of WWE, maybe even one fans would've never expected to see. Having him drop the title live two days later was also unexpected. If anything, the WWE creative team failed in terms of a good angle to get the belt from Edge to surrendered to Christian to Orton.

The quick move of the title from Christian to Orton devalues both the championship and Christian. Of course now Christian will be referred to as "Former World Champion" but will they include a footnote of "for less than a week?"

Now Orton will likely bring the title into the Over the Limit 2011 Pay-Per-View, but who will he face? Will Christian get a rematch? Will it be Mark Henry? Sheamus? Who will be the viable heel to step up at this point?

Christian or Del Rio at Extreme Rules?

At Extreme Rules 2011 Pay-Per-View, it'll be an intense ladder match for the vacated World Heavyweight Championship. Alberto Del Rio was scheduled to face Edge, but Adam Copeland made his official retirement on Monday Night Raw.

That meant Del Rio would become the new champion by default, right? Not exactly. On Friday's Smackdown, he tried to lay claim to the championship, only to have his destiny spoiled by GM Teddy Long. Long announced a 20-man battle royal would be held on Smackdown to determine Del Rio's opponent at Extreme Rules.

That 20-man battle royal was pretty interesting later in the night. Christian would emerge victorious after Jack Swagger charged at him and fell over the top rope. Two other guys who battled in the final four also looked good, with Rey Mysterio and Justin Gabriel. Perhaps a feud is in the future for these two, who gave a sneak preview of what could be a unique and exciting match.

Let's not digress though. It's going to be Edge's pal Christian going against Del Rio for the World Championship at Extreme Rules. Del Rio's got his ring announcer, Ricardo Rodriguez, and henchman, Brodus Clay, to back him up. It seems like now Del Rio's destiny will finally be realized. Even though Christian would make a worthy champion, it looks like this would be the time to further solidify Del Rio's status as the top heel on Smackdown. This works perfectly ahead of the annual WWE Draft, which could bring over some of Raw's top talent to challenge Del Rio.

Don't worry if you're a Christian fan though. He was top notch championship material on TNA and should be the same for WWE. It's been said elsewhere online that there is likely to be a passing of the torch from Edge to Christian as the face champ. Give him a few months and he may very well be defeating Del Rio to hold the World Championship for his first-ever reign.

Smackdown Results 04/15/11

Smackdown Results from Albany, NY:

To open the show, Alberto Del Rio tried to lay claim to the World Heavyweight Title since Edge is retiring. Instead, GM Teddy Long came out and said there will be a 20-Man Battle Royal. The winner will face Del Rio at Extreme Rules for the vacant Championship. Del Rio wasn't happy with Long's announcement so he said he's happy he's the one who forced Edge into retirement. He said it's his destiny to become World Champion. Teddy told him his destiny is to "shut up."

Kofi Kingston vs. Ezekiel Jackson

Barrett, Gabriel and Slater joined the commentary team to watch this match involving their fellow member of The Corre. At one point during the match, Jackson pressed Kofi overhead, then threw him over onto the other Corre members. Slater, Gabriel and Barrett stared him down. Barrett tried to get into the ring, but the ref stopped him. Kofi made sure things were ok, but then got slammed to the mat with Jackson's finisher.

Post-match, Zeke got on the mic to say he will become the new #1 contender in the battle royal later tonight. Barrett and the Corre shot him a bunch of looks as Jackson backed up the ramp.

Winner: Ezekiel Jackson wins via pinfall over Kofi Kingston.

Michelle and Layla were shown in a couples therapy segment. Layla tried to convince Michelle there were friends, but Michelle said not anymore. They both tried to say they were the ones who carried LayCool. McCool said Layla has been losing week after week, and it's been uncool how Layla can't win. Michelle walked out on the session.

Cody Rhodes did a promo, vowing to get revenge and disfigure Rey Mysterio. He said he wants little children to be horrified at the sight of Rey's face, so he can get vindication. Rey came running out and attacked. He went for 619, but Rhodes avoided it. Rey kicked him in the face, so Rhodes held onto the top rope on the apron. Rey ran and did a 619 to kick Rhodes in the gut.

An Awesome Kong promo like the one that aired during Raw was shown before the match. Matthews said he doesn't know what that was but it was certainly disturbing.

Rey Mysterio vs. Drew McIntyre

Midway through the match Mysterio went for a headscissors, but Drew held him then smashed him against the crowd barrier. After a break, Drew remained in control and had several near falls.

Rey made a comeback after Drew hit the corner shoulder first. Rey had a springboard crossbody for a near fall. He managed to avoid a move by Drew later in the match, then kicked him in the legs to send Drew against the ropes. Rey hit 619 followed by his diving splash off the corner for the pinfall win.

Post-match, the commentators raved about how impressive Drew McIntyre was in taking Rey to the limit. Cole said both of these guys will participate in the 20-man over-the-top rope battle royal.

Winner: Rey Mysterio wins via pinfall over Drew McIntyre.

Matthews and Booker talked about Edge's retirement. Booker reminisced how he and Edge hooked up at Wrestlemania 18. They rolled a clip from Edge's speech on Monday Night Raw about how he will have to retire. The highlight video package showed all sorts of moments from Edge's career, including his participation in The Brood, partnering with Christian as tag champs, his shaving Kurt Angle, tackling Mick Foley onto a fiery table, and various ladder matches.

They showed Edge wearing a suit backstage and carrying the World title on his way to the ring. He hugged Dean Malenko, Matt Striker and Chavo Guerrero. He stopped at Kane who gave him a stare, then extended his hand. Edge shook Kane's hand then walked on.

Edge came to the ring to address the Smackdown crowd, giving his farewell. Edge talked about the wide variety of matches and career moments. He said he always felt better each time he came out to do his entrance, thanks to the fans. Edge said he wanted to do that one last time so he went backstage and came out to his theme music and pyro. Edge reiterated the positive of the WWE and the doctors catching this before he ended up unable to move in a ladder match.

He talked about future plans for he and his girl going hiking then going to Nicaragua. Edge said here in Albany is where he won his very first WWE Championship. He also said he was sitting in a car in Albany when he came up with the name Edge. Edge pointed out his mother sitting in the front row of the audience with tears in her eyes. The crowd started up a "Thank You Mom" chant. To close the farewell out, Edge left the World Heavyweight Championship belt in the center of the ring. He went over and hugged his mom, then walked up the ramp before saying goodbye to the fans.

They rolled the "That's What I Am" movie trailer starring Ed Harris and WWE star Randy Orton.

Rosa Mendes delivered a teary goodbye in Spanish to Edge backstage. Just then, Alberto Del Rio appeared standing behind him. Edge turned around and Del Rio put his hand out for a handshake. Del Rio began to smile. Edge stared at him, then walked off without shaking hands.

Kelly Kelly vs. Layla

They showed how Beth Phoenix & Kelly defeated LayCool last week, after Michelle dropped off the apron holding her back. Michelle joined the commentators for the match and said she thinks their couples therapy is a waste of time. Kelly had control of the match throughout, and at one point Layla hit into the Cole Mine near Michelle. With Kelly back in the ring, Michelle got up and helped push Layla into the ring. Kelly took advantage and rolled her up for the pinfall.

Michelle got into the ring post-match and just looked at Layla. She questioned Layla "again?" because she lost another match. Layla apologized and tried to take Michelle by the arm. Michelle shoved Layla to the mat, then left the ring backing up the ramp.

Winner: Michelle McCool wins via pinfall over Layla.

They showed a replay of Cole slapping Swagger on Raw, and Jerry Lawler setting up a tag match for Extreme Rules. Back to Smackdown, Booker was chuckling and asked Cole how he could do that to the guy who trained him. Cole apologized on camera saying he'll make it up to Swagger.

They rolled a video package about Wrestlemania 27's Undertaker vs Triple H match. It included comments from various wrestlers such as Christian, Stone Cold, The Rock, John Cena, Randy Orton, Edge, Big Show and CM Punk.

Tony Chimel introduced one of the first competitors for the 20-Man Battle Royal, The Big Show, who came out right before commercial break.

20-Man Battle Royal Match

There were already 19 competitors in the ring after a commercial break. Kane was the last man introduced. Others included Christian, Rhodes, Swagger, McIntyre, Kingston, Chris Masters, Rey Mysterio, Yoshi Tatsu, The Corre, Kofi, Tyler Reks, Brodus Clay, Chavo, Trent Barreta and Curt Hawkins. JTG was the first one eliminated, followed by Barreta. Alberto Del Rio was seated near ringside to watch the match.

Big Show did a huge running clothesline but took himself out of the ring with Ezekiel Jackson. Rhodes was beating up Mysterio as Smackdown hit another commercial break. Kane eliminated Brodus Clay, upsetting Del Rio at ringside. Wade Barrett eliminated Kofi Kingston. Christian managed to eliminated Tyler Reks and then Yoshi Tatsu. Gabriel and Barrett did a double clothesline to eliminate Kane.

It came down to Swagger, Gabriel, Barrett, Masters, Mysterio and Christian. Masters was tossed onto the apron and tried for a Masterlock on Barrett. Wade managed to escape and eliminate Masters, but then Gabriel eliminated his fellow Corre member. Final Four was Mysterio, Gabriel, Swagger and Christian. Rey managed to eliminate Gabriel with a headscissors over the top rope.

Swagger tried to eliminate Mysterio, but Rey held onto the ropes. Michael Cole got into it when Rey sent Swagger into the ropes. Cole got on the apron and covered Swagger, then took the 619 to the back of his head. Swagger was able to regain composure and eliminated Mysterio, leaving just himself and Christian.

Swagger had Christian down and went for his Swagger Bomb. Christian sprang to his feet to prevent it though. Moments later, the match saw both guys fighting on the apron. Christian went for a pendulum kick, but Swagger grabbed him in the Ankle Lock and got back in the ring. Christian was able to roll his weight and escape it though. Swagger tried to throw Christian over, but Christian held onto the top rope. Christian fought off Swagger, but Del Rio rushed over and grabbed Christian by the leg. He tried to pull him out of the match, but got kicked in the head. Swagger went charging over at him, but Christian dropped down, pulling the top rope so Swagger fell to the outside.

Post-match, Edge arrived out to the ring and hugged his good friend Christian. Del Rio stood up on the commentators table pointing at the World Heavyweight Championship belt nearby.

Winner: Christian wins the 20-Man Battle Royal to earn the right to face Alberto Del Rio for the World Championship in a ladder match at Extreme Rules PPV.

Raw Review 04/11/11

This past week's episode of Raw featured plenty packed into the 2 hour show on USA. The biggest story was of course Edge announcing his sudden retirement from the WWE. Also, the show gave way to a new Divas champion, new #1 contenders for the WWE Title, a coming soon promo for a diva, and a tag team match for Extreme Rules.

First up, the Edge retirement is being discussed at length. It's tough to see Adam Copeland leaving the WWE Universe in this capacity. You have to wonder if he's going to take over in a commentary role at some point on Smackdown, because he'd do a great job there. He very well may go the road of Shawn Michaels and stay out of the WWE spotlight so he can enjoy his personal life. However, a recent tweet from his pal Christian makes it sound as if Edge will be a Hall of Famer next year. This news is still a bit of a shock because Edge was just seen wrestling a Wrestlemania match a few weeks ago. He'll surely be missed.

For the other topics of this past week's Raw, it appears Awesome Kong, the former TNA Knockout Champion, is on her way to the WWE ring soon. Her first promo featured Kong off camera, but holding a Barbie-style doll and flicking its head off. With the segment on Raw, it seems after Eve's loss she is doubting the rest of the divas, and there's dissension in the ranks. So who will Kong be going after?

Maybe this is why the WWE Divas Championship was transferred to Brie Bella? If any diva can handle two conniving divas, it will be Awesome Kong. There's no reason she won't get that title at some point.

Raw also gave us two matches for Extreme Rules. One match was made during the Jerry Lawler victory over Jack Swagger. Lawler chose to have a good old fashioned tag team match, with Jim Ross as his partner against Michael Cole. Since Cole berated and slapped his trainer, Jack Swagger, Lawler wisely made Swagger Cole's tag partner. We all see it coming, Swagger abandoning Cole during the match, leaving him to fend for himself against Lawler and Ross.

The other match came as a result of a five-man gauntlet match on Raw to determine the #1 contender for The Miz's WWE Championship. Fighting in the gauntlet were Randy Orton, John Morrison, R-Truth, Dolph Ziggler and John Cena. Most people expected Cena to prevail, but in fact, R-Truth won due to Miz interfering. The Raw GM decided that both Cena and Truth would be the dual #1 contenders. Why? Because it gives Miz the ability to win the match without actually pinning Cena at Extreme Rules. Will there be a special stipulation on the match though, which gives Miz some outside help via Alex Riley? The WWE Universe will wait to find out!

Finally, in case you've missed it, here's a link to the "That's What I Am" movie trailer. The new film from WWE Studios will star Ed Harris and WWE's own, Randy Orton.

Edge Retiring his WWE Rated-R Legacy?

Last night on WWE Raw, the Rated-R Superstar, Edge, made a huge announcement that he was deciding to retire from his pro wrestling career with WWE. The reasons given were due to health issues, particularly the neck injury he suffered 8 years ago involving spinal fusion surgery.

Edge made a lengthy speech and choked back tears because it appeared to be setting in for him as the Bridgeport fans gave him their appreciation. It was also noted during a commercial break on a Smackdown advertisement that this Friday on the SyFy show, Edge will be surrendering his World Heavyweight Championship.

This is obviously a shock to many, including myself as a longtime WWE blogger. I've had the opportunity to see Edge compete on a live Smackdown show back in Connecticut, and have enjoyed his career over the years. His days with "The Brood" which he mentioned on Raw got a loud pop, and it was certainly one of his memorable gimmicks, along with his formation of a top tag team with Christian.

Edge is also a multiple time champion. However, he holds a rare distinction of being one of pro wrestling's "Triple Crown champions" as he's held the World title, WWE title, tag titles, and Intercontinental title during his illustrious career.

This will all lead to someone else claiming Edge's championship. Perhaps, Teddy Long will have this decided in the ladder match in Edge's honor. Early candidates seem to be Alberto Del Rio and Edge's friend Christian.

Some websites and analysts are questioning the validity of Edge's in-ring statement. It was a surprise to many, and some even question the after-speech hugging that Edge was shown doing on camera with the likes of Dolph Ziggler, the Bella Twins and others.

If the news on Edge is in fact true, it may show quite a bit about Alberto Del Rio. It could be speculated that Del Rio was in fact going to win the World Title at Wrestlemania 27, but the plans were changed due to Edge's condition. Edge made it sound as if he was cleared for Wrestlemania 27 to be his final match of his career so he could retire the champion. This is all speculation, of course, but may sure the caliber of Del Rio's true personality, as he realized the gravity of the moment for Edge. His time will certainly come too.

For now, the WWE Universe waits to see if Edge is truly retiring. The reality may not have sank in for many of us, self included. If it's true, best wishes always to the Rated-R Superstar, for giving wrestling fans the best show he could at all times.

Make sure to check out Smackdown, Friday night at 8PM EST on SyFy to see Edge surrender his World Championship, as well as any decisions made on the title by Smackdown GM Theodore Long.

WWE Raw Results 04/11/11

WWE Raw Results from Bridgeport, CT:

After Michael Cole got a separate intro to start the show, he taunted Lawler at the commentary area before getting into his Cole Mine to hide.

John Cena's music hit, bringing Cena to the ring to talk about last week's big announcement involving The Rock and Wrestlemania 28. Cena noted that the match will be for the WWE Championship, the biggest prize in the business. Cena said he issues a challenge right now to The Miz, to give another Wrestlemania moment tonight. Instead of The Miz, out came Randy Orton to dispute Cena's idea.

Orton said Cena's business with Miz over the WWE Championship is over, because he lost. Orton suggested that someone who won their Wrestlemania match get the opportunity now. Cena went to respond, but John Morrison arrived out to interrupt that. He said he's seen this show before, but it's not as good as it could be, unless he's in it.

Vickie Guerrero walked out Dolph Ziggler, suggesting that Dolph deserves the championship opportunity instead. Ziggler made his case but R-Truth came out in the midst of that speech. Truth said he's never had a WWE Championship match and that's "What's Up!"

As they all started arguing, in came the email to Cole from the anonymous Raw GM. The Raw GM said they have come up with a new 5-man concept gauntlet match to determine the #1 contender for the WWE Title. That contender faces The Miz at WWE Extreme Rules in May.

A new promo clip was shown of an unseen female wrestler with braids holding a blonde doll in her heads. With a child's theme song playing, she flicked the head off the doll and started laughing maniacally. Cole and Matthews questioned what that was, then said it was definitely disturbing.

Brie Bella vs Eve Torres
WWE Divas Championship Match

Eve pulled out a magic marker before the match and asked the ref to put a big X on Nikki's hand so they couldn't pull their "Twin magic" trick of switching places.

In the match, Eve hung Brie up in the corner for repeated kicks. However, as the ref took Eve away, the Bellas made a switch. Eve saw it and grabbed the illegal Bella's arm to try to show the ref. However, Nikki pulled herself out of the ring. Brie got back in and grabbed Eve to slam her face first to the mat and got the winning pinfall to become new divas champion.

Winner: Brie Bella won via pinfall over Eve Torres to win the WWE Divas Championship.

Backstage, Eve was sitting down in the locker room looking upset over her loss. Gail Kim came in to say she got the short end of the stick. Eve told her save it, she knows how the divas are, everyone's just looking for their next chance at the title. Eve went to walk off, but Natalya came up to her to say she was sorry. Eve told her to save it too. Natalya and Gail looked at each other saying they aren't like that, are they? Tamina walked in and shot them both a look.

Sin Cara vs. Primo

Sin Cara made his Raw wrestling debut with a match against Primo Colon. A Sin Cara chant started up right as Primo started to make a big attack. However, Sin Cara exploded with a comeback, usin a variety of moves including a dive over the top ropes into a headscissor take down on Primo.

Primo took control again late, but when he charged Sin Cara in the corner, the newcomer moved away then came back with chops to the chest. Sin Cara hit an impressive Sunset Flip pin after Primo tried for a Powerbomb.

When Primo went for a high risk move, Sin Cara hit him with the enziguiri kick. However, when Sin Cara was on the top rope initially, someone botched the final move. Primo made it look like he countered it and Sin Cara spilled to the outside, but got right back up. They redid the enziguiri kick and then Sin Cara did the planned finisher a flip and face first slam to the mat for the win.

Winner: Sin Cara wins via pinfall over Primo.

WWE Slam of the Week was the in-ring showoff skills between The Rock and Cena last week. Both wrestlers hit their main moves on members of The Corre to see who could one up the other.

All four members of The Corre were standing in the ring as Raw returned. Barrett talked about their failed attack last week on Raw. He started looking over at Gabriel and Slater as if they were the weak links. They all took turns getting on the mic and in Barrett's face to tell why they are the best in the ring.

As they all started to argue out came Santino Marella along with Evan Bourne, Daniel Bryan and Mark Henry. Santino said if The Corre is in the ring, then they're "The Apple." A graphic on the Titantron said APPLE stands for "Allied People Powered by Loathing Everything" Corre stands for. Santino said they challenge Corre to a fight, and all four members of "Apple" headed to the ring, although Henry was reluctant to do the hands in team unity thing.

The Apple vs The Corre

This match broke down towards the end with everyone getting in the ring. Several guys spilled to the outside. Bryan ran across the ring and did a dive into Barrett on the outside. Santino was left with Slater. He prepared for The Cobra. Justin Gabriel hit a kick on Santino's head from the apron. That allowed Slater to hit his finisher on Santino for the win.

Winners: The Corre wins via pinfall over Apple.

Josh Matthews and Lawler started talking about Lawler's chance against Swagger tonight. If Lawler wins he gets a rematch against Michael Cole at Extreme Rules. If he loses, Cole gets to retire undefeated.

Jim Ross made his way down the ramp, with Cole getting on the mic to insult him. JR walked over and stared Cole down, then tried to open the Cole Mine door. He started shaking the Cole Mine to get Cole worried. Meanwhile, Swagger snuck in and tried to attack Lawler. Refs rushed in to restrain JR and get the match under order as Raw went to break.

Jerry Lawler vs Jack Swagger

JR was ringside for Lawler, while Cole was ringside for Swagger. Cole kept talking trash to Lawler and JR during the match, while he yelled for Swagger to "punish him."

Late in the match, King made his comeback after pulling the straps down. He hammered away on Swagger but then Jack got a kick in. He went for a running slam, but Lawler slid off his back and dropkicked Swagger into the corner. Lawler stood up and went over to get Swagger, but Cole got on the apron to distract him. JR went over and yanked Cole by the leg off the apron. Cole fell to the outside floor. Swagger reached out to grab JR, which allowed King to roll up Swagger for the suprise winning pinfall.

Post-match, JR celebrated with Lawler on the outside, while Cole was in disbelief. Cole got in the ring asking Swagger what the heck just happened. Cole started berating Swagger in the ring about the loss, but Swagger took exception to all the finger pointing and shoving. Cole finally slapped Swagger in the face, causing Swagger to become enraged.

Cole escaped the ring and backed up the ramp, but Lawler got on the mic to announce his match stipulation. He said he wants a tag team match at Extreme Rules. He said it'll be Lawler and Ross taking on Cole and Swagger. Cole tried to mouth an apology from the ramp to Swagger, but Jack wasn't having it.

Winner: Jerry Lawler wins via pinfall over Jack Swagger. Lawler will get a rematch with Cole at Extreme Rules, with a stipulation of Lawler's choice.

Josh Matthews introduced highlight video of the big match between Triple H and The Undertaker from Wrestlemania 28. This video package had comments from other wrestlers including Christian, Stone Cold, Big Show, CM Punk, Edge, The Rock and John Cena.

After the video ended, John Cena was shown backstage having a friendly chat with Edge. They shook hands and Edge started to walk away. Matthews said Edge has a big announcement to make regarding his career.

Justin Roberts introduced the World Heavyweight Champion Edge. Jim Ross was now on commentary along with Matthews and Lawler, as they discussed what Edge's big news might be about.

Edge talked about how many people think WWE doesn't hurt, but if you haven't been in the business you don't know. Edge said 8 years ago he broke his neck, which involved spinal fusion surgery. Edge said he'd be wrestling on borrowed time after that surgery. He said he's been losing feelings in his arms, and was able to pass strength tests.

Edge said WWE encouraged him to get more tests. Edge said he had an MRI done and they've said he needs to retire, but luckily won't have to be in a wheelchair. Edge started showing tears and fighting them back. The crowd gave a "thank you Edge" chant. Edge talked about the emotional roller coast ride he's been on, and then how talking to his friend Christian has helped him. He said he's a huge fan of WWE just like the rest of the WWE audience.

Edge said he couldn't dream of a better way to go out, retiring as World Heavyweight Champion. He said he's been wrestling for 19 years and has grown up in front of many fans. He said he's become a man in front of the fans as well. He talked about his career, being in The Brood, teaming with Christian, and his live sex celebration with Lita.

Edge said he's going to miss this, but he doesn't have to wear tights tomorrow and he's going to eat a whole lot of ice cream tonight. Edge said he would do it all over again, even the surgeries if he had to. Edge thanked the fans for all their support and got a standin ovation from the Bridgeport, CT crowd. He did a final pose up on the stage and his music started up again, before Edge walked backstage.

Raw returned to show Edge backstage hugging a bunch of the superstars on his way through. The commentators, Matthews, Lawler and JR, said this was a shocking announcement. JR said this was the last thing he expected with tonight's show.

The Miz arrived out next to break the silence. Alex Riley was with him and both were in suits. Miz joined the commentators to watch the #1 Contender's Gauntlet match.

#1 Contender 5-Man Gauntlet Match

Randy Orton was the first competitor announced. The second wrestler introduced was Dolph Ziggler. These two would start off the gauntlet and would have to make it through four others to become #1 contender. Josh Matthews noted that next week's show is in London.

In the first pairing, Orton gained major momentum and hit his DDT on Ziggler through the ropes. He dropped down to prepare for the RKO. However, just as he was getting up, several Nexus guys showed up at ringside. Otunga and McGillicutty distracted Orton, allowing Ziggler to steal the pinfall win. Mason Ryan came into the ring and leveled Orton wit ha huge boot. The Nexus guys continued to scream at and decimate Orton, with Ryan getting a huge Powerbomb, Batista-style.

The second pairing saw R-Truth hit the ring to take on Ziggler. Miz kept bragging about leaving Wrestlemania 27 still the WWE Champion. Truth hit a huge counter late in this one to smash Ziggler face first into the mat. He took the winning pinfall to eliminate Ziggler, bringing John Morrison out next, as Raw hit commercial.

John Morrison battled R-Truth in the third pairing of the gauntlet. Morrison hit his springboard mule kick late in the matchup, then pulled Truth towards the corner. He went for Starship Pain, but Truth rolled out of harm's way. As Morrison got back up, Truth hit his finisher again, to take his second straight pinfall victory.

That left John Cena versus R-Truth for the #1 contender's spot. It went to commercial after Cena made his ring entrance. A commercial during break advertised that Edge will surrender his World Heavyweight Championship on Friday's Smackdown.

Cena got momentum late as he hit the Five Knuckle Shuffle. He set up for the Attitude Adjustment, but Alex Riley and Miz rushed into the ring to attack. The ref called for the bell with no winner in the Gauntlet as it was a double disqualification.

Miz got on the mic and said both guys are losers and there's no #1 contender. However, the lights flashed and email sound chimed. Lawler got up to read from the laptop. The email said Miz is right there's no #1 contender for the WWE Title, but that's because there's no two contenders. The GM said the WWE Championship match at Extreme Rules will be a Triple Threat match between Miz, R-Truth and John Cena. Cena and Truth popped back up to attack Riley and Miz.

Cena hit Attitude Adjustment on Riley before his music hit, but then he and Truth faced off. They shook each other's hand, but then started to shove each other. It got serious at one point, but Truth backed off and left the ring to his music, smirking about it.

Winner: R-Truth and John Cena fight to a double DQ to become the dual #1 contenders for the WWE Championship at Extreme Rules.

Josh Matthews opened up the show on commentary. After noting the aftershock of Wrestlemania would be tonight's theme, Alberto Del Rio's music hit. Del Rio arrived out with Ricardo Rodriguez and Brodus Clay. Del Rio was on foot, arriving out without a car. Booker and Matthews were shown on camera, then Michael Cole cut in and they showed his Cole Mine covered in caution tape.

Del Rio and his crew got in the ring. He talked about how his destiny was delayed at Wrestlemania, and how Christian/Edge destroyed his car. Del Rio started to talk about what he'd do to Edge about all this, but was interrupted by the Rated-R Superstar's music. Edge came riding out on the back of a Brisco Brother's flatbed tow truck with Del Rio's Rolls Royce being hauled out.

With a mic in hand, Edge addressed Del Rio and the fans. Edge said he reassessed things after hearing Del Rio said the Rolls Royce was like his child. Edge said it might be damaged but it's nothing some tender, love and care might fix. Edge pulled out a spray can and sprayed some yellow paint on the hood. Del Rio was furious and demanded a rematch.

Edge said some guys are ahead of him. The tow truck horn beeped several times and Christian got out of the driver's door. Edge said if Del Rio wants a fight though, he's got one for him. Edge started to go down the ramp, until GM Teddy Long's music interrupted. He came out and said if they're going to settle this, they'll do it in a match. Tonight Alberto Del Rio goes one on one with Christian. The winner faces Edge for the World Championship at WWE Extreme Rules, in Edge's speciality, a Ladder Match.

Big Show, Kane, Santino Marella & Kofi Kingston vs. The Corre
2 out of 3 Falls Match

This match was a Wrestlemania rematch as all of these individuals competed on Sunday. Show's right hand KO punch knocked out Heath Slater for the pinfall win at Mania.

The first fall came about 9 minutes into the match when Kofi Kingston hit a high crossbody on Justin Gabriel for the pinfall.

The second fall saw Santino fighting Slater. Santino went for the Cobra, but Wade Barrett had made a blind tag to Slater. Barrett came into the ring and kicked down Santino, then hit Wasteland.

The final fall saw Kane and Barrett fighting it out in the ring. Eventually all of the wrestlers got involved in a big brawl. Kane set up for a Chokeslam on Barrett, but the rest of Corre attacked, so the ref called for the bell for a DQ in fall 3.

Post-match, all of the faces hit finishers on the heels.

Winners: Kofi Kingston, Santino Marella, Kane & Big Show win 2 out of 3 falls against The Corre.

After a commercial break, they showed a video promo for new wrestler, Sin Cara. It showed him in the ring and landing a variety of moves on unknown opponents.

Trent Barreta vs Cody Rhodes

Before the match, Barreta took his gum out of his mouth and put it inside his wrist sleeve. Rhodes got the early advantage, then unmercifully punched away on Trent. Barretta managed to land a big dropkick off the corner for an early near fall. However, Rhodes managed to turn around an Irish whip and hit a side Russian leg sweep, to regain control. After tossing Barreta shoulder-first to the ring post, Rhodes hit Cross Rhodes for the win.

Post-match, Rhodes snapped and continued to attack Barreta. Rey Mysterio's music hit and he came rushing to the ring to make a save. Rhodes managed to jump off the side apron and get out of harm's way. Mysterio invited him to come back to the ring, but Rhodes headed backstage instead.

Winner: Cody Rhodes wins via pinfall over Trent Barreta.

They showed the replay of John Cena on Raw when he called out The Rock. Cena was upset over Rock costing him the WWE title at Wrestlemania 27. The Rock came out and said he respects Cena, but that doesn't mean he likes him. Rock said they're opposites for the most part, but both want to do whatever they do the absolute best, and better than the rest. Cena ended up saying the people don't want to see them talk, they want a match. He suggested a one-on-one, with The Rock saying they'd do it at Wrestlemania 28 next year. After they shook hands, The Corre attacked. Cena and Rock each did several moves on Wade Barrett and Heath Slater to try to show who was better, but Michael Cole called it "a draw."

Edge and Christian were backstage in the locker room. Edge said he hopes Christian wins, because it's a match they revolutionized. He said he wants to face him in the match at Extreme Rules and hopes Edge will be ok with things after the event. Edge wished him good luck tonight then walked off. Christian got up and crouched down, looking at the championship belt Edge left behind, contemplating. Edge walked back in chuckling and grabbed the belt to leave, also smirking.

An ad for Wrestlemania 28 on April 1, 2012 was shown before Smackdown returned. Matthews discussed Wrestlemania and Undertaker going 19-0. Michael Cole said they should have a split screen to show he went 1-0 at Wrestlemania.

Beth Phoenix & Kelly Kelly vs. Team LayCool

They showed a replay of Snooki doing backflips across the ring to hip splash into McCool in the corner. Phoenix took control against McCool and at one point she whipped her against the ropes into Layla. Layla crashed to the outside floor. Layla and Michelle started arguing again. Layla tagged in with Michelle asking why she was laying outside the ring. Beth pressed Layla overhead, then dropped her on the corner.

Kelly Kelly came in to take control over Layla, smacking her on the behind and then almost scoring the pinfall. Layla went for a tag with Michelle feigning a back injury and dropping off the apron so she couldn't tag. Kelly rolled up Layla for the winning pinfall.

Post-match, Layla was confused in the ring and gave a stare to Michelle on the outside. Michelle reiterated that her back hurts. Layla went to Michelle on the ramp and took her arm, with Michelle pulling away and yelling at Layla.

Winners: Beth Phoenix & Kelly Kelly win via pinfall over Team LayCool.

They showed WWE Rewind with Michel Cole squirting JR's BBQ sauce all over Jim Ross, before JR chased Cole around the ring and up the ramp.

Smackdown returned with Cole laughing in the ring about it. He asked "Who shot JR?" and then said "I did! hahaha" Cole introduced the man who trained him for his big Wrestlemania 27 match. Jack Swagger arrived to the ring and had a mic also. Swagger talked about all the doubters who thought he could train Cole for the main event at WM27. Swagger said it was easy because of Cole's intelligence, athletic ability made it easy.
Swagger said in just one night Cole became the new "Mr. Wrestlemania." Swagger demanded the crowd applaud Cole in the ring. Cole said they also know there's nobody backstage who can beat Swagger in a fair fight. They did their victory lap around the ring. All of a sudden, they were interrupted by Sin Cara's music and he arrived out on the ramp looking around.

Sin Cara started jumping up and down on the ramp, pointing to the crowd, then pointed to the ring. He got a running start then leapt over the top rope as pyro went off near the top of the stage. Swagger stared down Sin Cara then shoved him against the ropes. Sin Cara came back, ducked Swagger's clothesline and hit several moves. Swagger rolled out of the ring and stood up on the outside, so Sin Cara hurled himself out over the top rope with a twisting high crossbody. He backed up, still pointing at Swagger down on the mat, as he went up the ramp.

Matthews and Booker T talked about how impressive Sin Cara is. Booker said he went after someone with a big mouth to make an impression. Matthews brought up Tough Enough and Stone Cold Steve Austin. They rolled highlights of Austin with the Tough Enough cast in the ring on Raw Monday night. The Miz interrupted, suggesting that they see if Austin can have one more match. Austin told them to clear the ring, but Miz cheapshotted him. Riley attacked Austin in the corner, but eventually the tables turned with Austin hitting the Stone Cold Stunner. A beer bash with all the Tough Enough cast members ensued.

They showed highlights of the 2011 WWE Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. It included WWE Diva Sunny, Abdullah the Butcher, Hacksaw Jim Duggan and Shawn Michaels, who was introduced by Triple H.

Christian vs. Alberto Del Rio
#1 Contender's Match

The winner of this match would become the #1 Contender for Edge's World Championship and challenge for it in a ladder match at Extreme Rules. Edge joined Booker and Matthews on commentary to watch the matchup.

During the match, Cole asked the hard-hitting questions of Edge such as why he destroyed Del Rio's car. Edge told Cole maybe he should try to make a citizen's arrest.

In the match, Del Rio was outside the ring before a break, with Edge taunting him with the Championship belt, saying "it's about this."

Late in this match, Christian was in control as he went to the outside apron. Brodus Clay came over to distract him from ringside. Edge left the commentary position and hit a Spear to take down Clay. However, all the distraction allowed Del Rio to go over and hit the enziguiri kick on Christian in the corner. He followed with the pinfall to claim victory.

Edge was disappointed his pal lost the match. He got in the ring with Christian and stared at Del Rio as he backed up the ramp to close Smackdown.

Winner: Alberto Del Rio wins via pinfall over Edge to become the #1 Contender for the World Heavyweight Championship.

Meanwhile, Trish Stratus, The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin will all lend their superstar status to the event along with the likes of John Cena, The Undertaker, Triple H, Rey Mysterio, Edge and Big Show.

Below are the latest updated matches and Wrestlemania 27 results. Click here to refresh this page.

Justin Roberts just introduced Keri Hilson to sing "America the Beautiful" to start off the show. A video package is shown of the Georgia Dome, and then The Rock is introduced as the official host of Wrestlemania 27. Rock headed to the ring to pose for the applauding fans.

The Rock did an intro speech to get the crowd involved asking if they can feel, taste and smell the energy tonight for Wrestlemania. A "Cena Sucks" chant started up but was overtaken by a "Rocky" chant. Rock said one superstar in back is deciding which rainbow fruity T-shirt to wear tonight.

Edge vs. Alberto Del Rio
World Heavyweight Championship

Del Rio arrived out for the opening contest. Brodus Clay was also on hand, and then Christian arrived out to be in Edge's corner for the huge title match. Lawler and Matthews were shown on camera, and then the shot went over to Michael Cole in his Cole Miner clear protective box. He sent it to the Spanish announcers for a bit of talk right before Edge was introduced.

Del Rio was in control early in the match, working on Edge's arm continually. Moments later Edge flung himself over the top rope out onto Del Rio to start a countout from the ref. Ricardo Rodriguez, Clay and Christian were all nearby watching. Edge escaped a near Cross Armbreaker to slam Del Rio to the mat for a near fall. Moments later, Del Rio caught Edge with the Cross Armbreaker. Edge managed to use his legs to get over to the bottom rope and break it though.

Christian and Brodus Clay got into it on the outside, with Del Rio able to dropkick Christian down from in the ring. Clay grabbed Christian and slammed him backwards to take him out. Meanwhile, Edge got a near fall on Del Rio. Right after he dropped Del Rio, then got the crazed look in his eyes for The Spear. Del Rio avoided it and whipped Edge to the corner. The ref got distracted by Del Rio in the ring and Ricardo on the outside allowing Clay to grab Edge's arm and smash it against the ringpost. Del Rio got the Cross Armbreaker on, but once again Edge reversed it and turned it into a pinfall.

Later still, Edge put a submission on Del Rio in the ring but Alberto refused to tap out. Brodus Clay was pounding the mat to cheer on Del Rio. Christian was back up and got on the apron to kick Clay and knock him off.

Back in the ring, Del Rio escaped Edge's submission, but Edge went to the corner. He saw Del Rio get up across the ring and charged at him, connecting on the Spear. Edge wins and retains the World Championship!

Post-match, Edge celebrated with the championship belt and walked up the ramp near Del Rio's fancy car. He touched it a bit, contemplating something. Del Rio watched from ringside as Edge placed the championship belt on the hood, then ran and pretended he was going to kick it. Edge stopped then began to kick it anyways. He got up on the roof and did an elbow drop. Del Rio walked up the ramp to beg Edge to stop. Christian was there as well with a tire iron and a lead pipe. He handed one of the objects to Edge and the two former tag partners proceeded to destroy the vintage Rolls Royce. Cole whined that Edge should be arrested for all that.

Winner: Edge wins via pinfall over Alberto Del Rio to retain the World Heavyweight Championship.

Rey Mysterio vs. Cody Rhodes

Rhodes arrived out first wearing a black hooded jacket and his clear face mask. Cole, Matthews & Lawler reviewed all of the events that transpired from Rhodes getting injured by Mysterio in January, and then Rhodes taking his revenge on Smackdown. Rey Mysterio arrived out dressed in a Captain America costume, red, white and blue. Cole called it a big joke for Mysterio, but it's not a big joke for Rhodes.

The two masked men traded early offense, with Rey trying for a headscissors, but Rhodes was able to block it and place Rey on the top rope. He turned the move into the Alabama Slam on Rey to the amazement of the crowd. A "let's go Cody" chant was heard in the background. Rhodes tried to pull off Rey's guarded knee brace.

Rhodes continued to wisely counter Rey's move with another near fall in the ring. Cole said Rey's just prolonging the punishment from Rhodes. The commentators said Rey hadn't had much offense in the match, but he started a comeback with a near fall.

Rey set up Cody for the 619, but Rhodes caught Rey by his legs then set up a slingshot into the middle rope. He had the nearfall on Rey right after. Moments later in the match, Rey managed to expose Cody's face with the mask off. Rey connected on 619 right after that to knock Rhodes onto the mat. He went to the top rope for the diving headbutt. Cody countered it with his knees and kicked Rey against the ropes. Rey responded by kicking Rhodes in the face.

Later still, Mysterio put Rhodes clear mask on to use it as a weapon. Rey jumped off the corner with his diving headbutt and got the pin. However, Rhodes' legs were under the ring. Rhodes went to the outside with Rey recovering in the ring. Rhodes picked up Rey's knee brace which had fallen out of the ring. He clocked Mysterio in the face with it as Rey tried to dive through the ropes at him. Rey was hanging there as Rhodes got in the ring and grabbed Mysterio to hit Cross Rhodes for the win.

Winner: Cody Rhodes wins via pinfall over Rey Mysterio.

Rapper Snoop Dogg was backstage with Smackdown GM Theodore Long. They slapped hands and Snoop asked for some talent to help him out. Teddy said he's lined up some superstars to audition for him. They sat down at a table and Snoop said "let the dogs loose." William Regal was out first to do a rap about "Straight Outta Blackpool." Snoop said "Next" and Great Khali did a "Grease" routine with Beth Phoenix for "Summer Lovin." Zack Ryder did a song about getting down on Friday, when Roddy Piper came out and smashed him with an object from behind.

Chris Masters and Yoshi Tatsu did "We Will Rock You" with Masters moving his chest in unison with the music. Hornswoggle came out dressed in all black with a ball cap. Snoop said he thinks they have a winner. Teddy told Snoop that Hornswoggle can't talk or anything. Snoop asked if that's true and Horney tried to talk but couldn't. Snoop and Teddy left a dejected Hornswoggle backstage. After they left he put on some shades and kicked a rap with Bella Twins arriving out to dance in the background.

Eight-Man Tag Team Match

This match features Big Show, Kane, Santino Marella & Vladimir Kozlov teaming up to take on the four members of The Corre: Wade Barrett, Ezekiel Jackson, Justin Gabriel & Heath Slater.

Kofi Kingston was put in the match to replace Vladimir Kozlov. Kozlov was attacked during Wrestlemania Axxess. Late in the match, Kofi was able to take out two Corre members including Ezekiel Jackson. Santino scored The Cobra punch and then the legal man, Big Show, hit a KO punch on Slater for the pinfall win. Kofi came in the ring to celebrate with Kane, Show and Santino.

Winners: Kofi Kingston, Kane, Big Show and Santino Marella win via pinfall over The Corre.

The Rock talked to WWE Divas Champion Eve Torres backstage saying how much he loves the divas. Rock talked about how he creates electrifying, magical moments just with a snap of his fingers. Rock said he'll create one of those moments with whoever comes around the corner next. Eve told him it looks like his dream has come true. Rock said he loves the divas, this is a divasaurus. Mae Young showed up and said she wanted some of the People's Streudel. Rock asked Eve to escort Mae to her seat. Rock turned around and Mae slapped him in the backside before Eve took her away.

Rock said it couldn't have been anyone else coming around the corner, could it? Just then, Stone Cold Steve Austin showed up and the two stared in each others' eyes. Stone Cold said he was ready to kick some ass tonight, Rock said he's ready to bring it. They shook hands and kept a tough stare on one another.

Randy Orton vs. CM Punk

They showed a video package to buildup how Orton and Punk's feud has developed, starting two years prior because Orton Punt kicked Punk in the head backstage costing him the World title at a Pay-Per-View. Punk informed Orton he's waited a long time to get his revenge. However, over the past weeks, Orton defeated all of Punk's Nexus crew members, meaning that none of them can be present at ringside for tonight's match.

Punk worked on Orton's left left he injured not long ago with a stun gun on Raw. Punk managed to hit the running knee in the corner and continued his attack to punish Orton even more.

Orton fought out of a near GTS attempted from Punk. He tried for the RKO, but Punk countered it and hit a roundhouse kick to drop Orton for the near fall. Punk went to the corner and looked back at Orton. He climbed to the top rope and went for a high risk move, but Orton got up fast and took out his footing to crotch Punk on the corner.

Punk's attack on Orton's hurt leg continued, but Orton got some major momentum, including a late surge with the Scoop slam. He leapt onto Punk and pounded away with punches to the head. However, it was apparent that the left leg was still bothering Orton. He hit a huge lateral press for a near fall. Cole said it's amazing Orton's knee isn't giving out more and he's running on adrenaline mainly.

Punk managed to lock on the Anaconda Vice on Orton in the center of the ring. Cole noted Orton has a bad leg and can't use it to push away. Orton looked ready to tap but then rolled his weight towards the bottom rope to grab and break the hold.

With Punk on the apron, Orton ran him over and smashed Punk into the ringpost. Orton took Punk through the ropes for his patented DDT. He then dropped to the mat near the corner and pounded the mat, ready for the RKO, but got on his knees, then to his feet. He had that look on his face, then backed up for the Punt Kick. Orton started to run but then his leg gave out and Orton fell to the mat. Punk smirked as he saw Orton in pain on the mat and walked over. Orton was playing possum and went for the quick RKO, but Punk avoided it and got to the apron.

To close things out, Punk went for the springboard jump move off the side rope. Orton was able to hit the RKO from the air, surprising Punk and getting the huge win by pinfall!

Winner: Randy Orton wins via pinfall over CM Punk.

Mean Gene Okerlund was backstage with The Rock. The Rock said he thinks things will get real ugly tonight because Cena's #1 fan is coming to confront him. Okerlund said he's already there. Rock turned around to an off camera individual to say "of course it's you." The camera showed Pee Wee Herman who started doing the "You Can't See Me." Rock said he sees potential in Pee Wee and asked him if he'd rather be on Team Bring It or the Fruit Loop Troop. Rock showed Pee Wee what he'd look like as a Cena fan, and showed Okerlund decked out in Cena gear. Pee Wee said he looks like a dork. Okerlund walked off angry, and Pee Wee vowed to join Rock's team. He did the La-La-La-la if you smell what Pee Wee's cooking line to finish off the segment.

Jerry Lawler vs. Michael Cole
Special Ref: "Stone Cold" Steve Austin

Booker T and Jim Ross were introduced to help call the auction for the match along with Josh Matthews since Lawler and Cole are obviously in the match. Cole got on the mic demanding attention as he came out in a goofy bright orange wrestling get up with knee braces and collegiate wrestling headgear. Cole started to taunt and make fun of JR for not being in shape since he took his job away. Cole said Lawler and JR are both overweight, overrated and over the hill. Cole kept hamming it up on the mic as he got into the ring and said after tonight he'll be proclaimed the new "Mr Wrestlemania."

Jack Swagger's music hit next to bring Swagger, Cole's trainer, to the ringside area. Swagger began doing pushups on the ramp, but was interrupted by the smashed glass breaking and Stone Cold's theme music. Stone Cold arrived out on his ATV and nearly ran over Swagger on the ramp. Austin circled the ring several times with Cole looking petrified. Cole rushed over and locked himself in the protective box, staying there as Austin posed in the ring. Finally, Lawler was given his introduction by Justin Roberts. This is Lawler's first ever Wrestlemania match of his 40-year career.

Cole did some warmup moves like jumping jacks in his protective box, standing on his table. Austin demanded Cole get in the ring and Cole said he wasn't ready yet. Austin called for the bell, so Lawler ran out of the ring. He headed off an attack by Swagger and knocked him down before going over towards Cole.

Cole pleaded with Lawler, saying he never meant what he said. Cole offered a handshake through his clear box. Lawler went for it and shook but wouldn't release Cole's hand. He started to yank Cole by the hand against the box, scrunching his face against it. Lawler then climbed over the side and began to bash Cole around inside the protective cage. The door swung open so Lawler pulled Cole out and tossed him into the podium before tossing Cole into the ring.

Austin checked on Cole in the ring, while Swagger rushed and smashed Lawler down on the outside to help out Cole. Cole recollected himself in the ring then hit a running baseball slide dropkick on Lawler. Swagger locked the Ankle Lock on Lawler outside the ring as Cole distracted Austin. Back in the ring, Cole stood on Lawler's hurt leg near the ropes as Swagger was there encouraging it.

Cole continued to stay in control, as he ran and did an attempted Swagger bomb on the corner. Cole jumped onto the corner and hit it, then pulled Lawler into the ring for the first near fall. Booker said his heart skipped a beat there. Cole continued to work on Lawler's hurt ankle and leg.

Cole had the AnkCole Lock on Lawler, but the Hall of Famer countered and kicked Cole to the corner. Lawler started to get serious momentum, attacking Cole in the corner. Swagger tossed in the white towel on behalf of Cole. Austin gave a look, then picked up the towel and wiped his sweat with it. He threw it back at Swagger. Swagger got in the ring to plead his case in Austin's face, but ended up getting hit by a Stone Cold Stunner followed by two middle finger taunts. Lawler waited for Cole to get up, asking if he wants to continue. Cole had his hands on Austin, then slapped his arms and pushed Stone Cold.

Austin shoved Cole and he got a right hand from King. Lawler kept punching away on Cole down on the mat. Lawler continued to stay in control as Austin watched in amusement. Lawler got on the corner, pointed to the Wrestlemania banner, then lowered his strap to drop off the corner with his driving punch. Austin went for the pinfall count and got to 2, but Lawler pulled Cole up smiling. Austin laughed it off. Lawler put an Ankle Lock on Cole and he immediately started tapping out frantically. Austin got down and played around a bit before finally calling for the bell.

Post-match, time for a beer bash. Austin and Lawler toasted, then Booker T got in the ring. He did the Spin-A-Rooni before Austin slapped hands with him, then caught a beer. He handed Booker the beer and toasted. They started to drink up but Booker got kicked in the gut then hit by the Stunner.

Cole and Swagger were up on the ramp as the lights flashed. The anonymous Raw GM sent an email. Josh Matthews read that the GM said the ref blatantly interfered in the match, meaning that Lawler is disqualified, meaning Michael Cole is the winner. Lawler was upset and grabbed Matthews, then tossed him in the ring. Matthews stood up and got kicked by Austin, then hit by the Stunner!

Winner: Michael Cole wins due to disqualification of Jerry Lawler due to Stone Cold Steve Austin's interference in the match.

The Undertaker vs. Triple H
No Holds Barred Match

They showed a lengthy highlight video package to build up Triple H and The Undertaker with The Streak on the line. After that, Justin Roberts introduced the No Holds Barred match. The lights dimmed and hard rock music kicked in with explosions and light effects. A scene of mountains and forrest was on the big screen up on the ramp as medieval knights with shields all arrived out. They all moved away to reveal Triple H dressed in medieval King of Kings costume. Lights went out again, and HHH was there as "Time to Play the Game" kicked in. This one's got classic written already!

Undertaker got an intro featuring his traditional bells tolling, but then the Johnny Cash "Ain't No Grave" music kicked in as smoke gave way to The Undertaker coming down the ramp. Triple H stared out at him and crouched down in the ring in preparation. Justin Roberts announced The Undertaker as he continued his long walk to the ring.

Early on, this one was ugly. The action spilled to the outside where Triple H tackled Undertaker through Michael Cole's clear protective cage, smashing it in the process! Taker got right back up and stared at Triple H in the ring, then got back in on fire. Both men hammered away at each other. Remember, this is a No DQ/No Countout situation with No Holds Barred.

Triple H continued his furious attack outside the ring as he whipped Taker into the crowd barrier, then removed the cover of the commentators table. HHH got up on the table and went for a Pedigree. Taker slipped out and tried for a Chokeslam. Instead, HHH countered and went for another Pedigree. Taker countered that to flip HHH off and to the floor hard. It took HHH some time to get up on the outside. No countouts but as HHH stood up, Taker ran across the ring and hit a suicide dive to take both guys out on the outside.

Undertaker charged at Triple H near the Spanish announcers table. HHH countered to hit a huge side suplex and smashed Taker through the table. Both guys stumbled around, but HHH fell down outside the ring as Taker stumbled in the ring. Jim Ross on commentary said some day the Streak will end, but is this the time? Just after, Taker hit a huge Chokeslam, but HHH barely kicked out of the pinfall.

Meanwhile, The Undertaker wielded a steel chair later on, smashing it against HHH's back. However, just a few moments later, Triple H hit The Pedigree. He had a near fall with Taker barely kicking out!

HHH went for a move on Taker in the corner, but Taker countered and hit The Last Ride for a near fall. After that, he signaled for the Cutthroat. He got HHH up and hit the Tombstone Piledriver. 1, 2...and HHH kicks out of that one, wow!

A frustrated Undertaker threw down the steel chair next to HHH's body. Taker picked up HHH on his shoulder, but HHH slid off then DDT'd Taker onto the steel chair. Both guys were layed out on the mat. Taker had his arm on HHH's body, but the ref didn't make any pinfall counts.

As they finally got up, HHH hit a second Pedigree on Taker. The near fall sent the crowd into a frenzy as Taker kicked out yet again. Triple H hit a third Pedigree, with Taker kicking out once again. Triple H smashed a steel chair repeatedly on Taker yelling "stay down!" Taker used all his strength to stand up, but HHH walked over and smashed him over the head with the chair. HHH fell to the ropes as Taker was flat on his back.

Triple H walked over and told Taker to stay down, then asked what is wrong with you. Taker grabbed him by the throat, but then stumbled back to the ropes. Undertaker looked ready to go still, but HHH signaled for Cutthroat. He picked up Taker and hit the Tombstone Piledriver on him. A pinfall ensued with Taker kicking out once again!

HHH grabbed the Sledgehammer from outside the ring and walked in. He said it's time, but Taker grabbed him and put the Hell's Gate submission on. Triple H dropped the Sledgehammer and struggled to get loose. Taker locked the hold though as HHH looked for a way out. The Game fought to his feet with the Hell's Gate locked in. HHH finally got his hand to the Sledgehammer and picked it up but then it fell out of his hand. He kept struggling but seemed to be fading. Finally HHH tapped against Taker's body to give in. The Streak is now at 19-0. The Johnny Cash music played as pyro went off and a big 19-0 was shown up on stage. Both guys were still laying in the ring as the music played on.

HHH got to the outside and finally after several WWE refs and officials checked him out, Taker rolled out under the ropes. HHH stopped at the bottom of the ramp to watch, holding his left arm. Taker fell to the floor. HHH walked over but the ref ordered him to walk away. Finally a cart drove down to ringside to load Taker onto a stretcher and take him away, clearly decimated from the big match!

Winner: The Undertaker wins via submission over Triple H in the No Holds Barred Match. The Streak extends to 19-0.

John Morrison, Trish Stratus & Snooki vs. Dolph Ziggler & Lay-Cool
Mixed Gender Tag Match

Vickie Guerrero arrived out to introduce Team LayCool and Dolph Ziggler. Next out was John Morrison, followed by Trish Stratus. This is her first Wrestlemania in five years. Final introduction was "Jersey Shore" star Snooki to the show's theme music.

Stratus and McCool in an early catfight, with Michelle gaining the upperhand. However as she got to the corner in a seated position, Stratus tried for her headscissors move. Michelle pulled her to the top and they punched each other. Both divas tumbled out to the floor. Stratus shoved Michelle into the barrier. Layla rushed over and got decked by Trish. As LayCool stood up, Trish dove off the apron onto them both. Trish continued the attack on McCool in the ring for near falls. Ziggler yanked Trish off the pin, but Morrison got in to take him out over the top rope.

The close saw Snooki get into the ring and do a side flip and backflip to hit Michelle in the corner. She finished with a moonsault flip over McCool and then a big splash on her for the pinfall. They showed the WWE Tough Enough contestants at ringside watching and cheering for Trish, Snooki and Morrison.

Winners: Snooki, Trish Stratus & John Morrison win via pinfall over Team LayCool and Dolph Ziggler.

John Cena vs. The Miz
WWE Championship

They showed an interesting video package to promote Miz before the main event WWE Championship match. The "Hate Me Now" song by Nas and Diddy played as they showed highlights of Miz from his career.

There was a huge white "AWESOME!" set up on stage. The Miz and Alex Riley came smashing through the letters. Miz hoisted up the WWE Championship as sparkling effects went off behind him and Riley. The backdrop was red carpet style with silouhette paparazzi and fans on the screen.

Miz waited in the ring as a chorus group of red and white gospel singers was assembled on the top of the stage. Looks like another interesting John Cena introduction is coming. They showed Cena highlights with a DMX intro prayer over it. The chorus group started up a lively song and clapping, before finally giving way to John Cena's official entrance music. Cena came up a small ramp to the stage, saluted the fans, then rushed down the ramp to the ring, diving in.

They locked up early, with Miz gaining some control after a shoulder block, but Cena able to hip toss him. Miz backed away when he saw Cena prepare to throw a punch. They did a strength test, with Cena able to put a side headlock on. It got to the corner, where Cena broke the hold, but Miz kicked Cena in the gut then stomped on him on the mat.

Miz began to punch away on Cena to keep him down on the mat. JR said a man can only sustain so many shots. Cena hit a gut wrench bomb on Miz for a near fall. Miz missed on a followup charging move, so Cena jumped off the corner and hit the leg drop on the back of Miz's head for another near fall. Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler said it seemed Cena's equilibrium has been effected. Right after that he gained momentum, with shoulder tackles. However, Cena looked woozy as he did the Five Knuckle Shuffle on Miz. Cena picked him up for the Attitude Adjustment, but Miz countered and then drilled Cena with a DDT for the near fall.

The Miz tore off the corner turnbuckle, with the ref distracted when he went to put it back on. Cena rolled Miz into the inside cradle for a near fall, but the ref was putting the cover back. He dropped it and went for the count with Miz escaping it. Cena picked him up for the AA, but Miz grabbed the ropes. Moments later, Cena locked the STF on Miz. Miz crawled to reach the bottom rope and finally broke it. The ref ordered Cena to break it off.

The Miz went for another Skullcrushing Finale, but this time Cena countered and threw him off. Miz hit into the ref, knocking him out. Cena hit AA, but the ref was out and couldn't count the pinfall. From there, Alex Riley smashed Cena in the face with the briefcase. However, Cena still kicked out of the pinfall as the ref finally crawled over for the cover.

Later still, Cena avoided a briefcase shot by The Miz, causing Miz to smash Alex Riley in the face. Cena had another near fall. Later, outside the ring Cena rushed over and clotheslined The Miz over the crowd barrier. Both guys were down on the pavement, with the ref counting them both out. The bell rang and Justin Roberts announced that it was a draw with Miz retaining the title.

However, as Miz's theme music played, The Rock's music interrupted. Rock stormed to the ring. Once he was inside, the anonymous GM sent an email. Rock stopped JR from going to read it, and went to read instead. He said "and I quote, as anonymous Raw GM I think..." Rock said "it doesn't matter what you think" then threw the laptop down.

Rock ordered the match to restart with no disqualifications or countouts. Cena was up fast and rushed over to toss Miz into the ring. He almost had the AA, but Miz grabbed the ropes to get away. The Rock was still in the ring and hit Cena with the Rock Bottom. He then left the ring and watched as The Miz covered Cena for the win.

The Miz celebrated in the ring with The Rock watching from the ramp. A "Rocky" chant started up with Rock staring at Miz in the ring. Rock rushed into the ring, with Miz trying for a shot at him with the belt. Rock ducked it and layed the smackdown on Miz with a bunch of moves. He hit a huge Spinebuster, then did the People's Elbow. Rock celebrated on the corner with his trademark pose to close out the show.

Winner: The Miz wins via pinfall over John Cena in a No DQ match to retain the WWE Championship.
