It's expected that it will be announced that next year's Superbowl of wrestling, Wrestlemania XXVI (26), will be held in Phoenix, Arizona. WWE's grand Pay-Per-View will go live at the University of Phoenix Stadium, according to The Arizona Republic. The stadium can accommodate more than 70,000 fans -- an impressive number, but far below Wrestle Mania’s record attendance of 93,173 at Wrestlemania III, held at the Pontiac Silverdome in suburban Detroit.
The University of Phoenix match “may have an economic impact bigger than the All-Star game,” said a source familiar with the deal.
The NBA All-Star game, played in Phoenix last weekend, brought in more than $30 million in direct spending, according to convention and tourism group estimates.
