Wrestlemania 26 Press Conference


As anticipated, it was announced Tuesday afternoon that Wrestlemania XXVI will be held at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Arizona next year. The official date for the event will be March 28th, 2010, and yesterday WWE stars John Cena, Chris Jericho, Kofi Kingston, and WWE Divas Kelly Kelly and Melina were part of a press conference in Arizona discussing the event. Also on hand yesterday were the Mayor of Glendale, AZ- Elaine Scruggs, in addition to Ken Wisenhunt- the coach of the NFL's Arizona Cardinals, and Peter Sullivan- the General Manager for University of Phoenix Stadium.

It's expected that this year's Wrestlemania 25, the Silver anniversary, will break attendance records for Texas Reliant Stadium, just as last year's event broke attendance records for the Citrus Bowl in Orlando, Florida. Over 74,000 fans attended Wrestlemania 24, with all 50 states represented as well as five Canadian provinces and 21 countries. Wrestlemania 26 will also be televised to over 100 countries and features more than just the Pay-Per-View. The week-long celebration of Wrestlemania 26 in Arizona will also feature WrestleMania Axxess, WWE Hall of Fame, WrestleManiArt, exhibition, Monday Night Raw and a WrestleMania “Rocks the Block” street party.
