WWE Superstars Recap 03.04.10

WWE Superstars Recap 03.04.10:

After the opening pyro went off, Michael Cole announced that Wrestlemania is just 24 days away. Tonight's show is kicked off with a Raw one-on-one contest involving Kofi Kingston and Chavo Guerrero.

Kofi Kingston vs. Chavo Guerrero

Kofi connected on a flying shoulder to Chavo's face early on. During the match, the ref had to take a timeout to check on Chavo who had a cut above his left eye. Chavo grabbed a towel from someone at ringside, then went back to work with a quick kick to Kofi's gut. Kofi retaliated though and eventually was able to land punches on Chavo in the corner. Kofi flipped down from the corner to the mat but as he ran at Chavo, Chavo caught him with a spinning leg kick. Chavo continued to work on Kofi and kicked away at his back, eventually tossing him out through the ropes then diving out onto him.

Chavo continued to try to win it with pinfalls but couldn't. After a brief tussle outside the ring, the two men ended up battling it out on the corner. Kofi gained the upperhand and started up his momentum. After knocking Chavo to the mat, he landed the Boom Boom leg drop, then set up for Trouble in Paradise. Chavo ducked out through the ropes though. As Kofi came at him, Chavo countered it into a half Boston Crab. Kofi was close enough to grab the ropes. Kofi missed on one Trouble in Paradise attempt, but then came back quickly with another and hit it.

Winner: Kofi Kingston wins via pinfall over Chavo Guerrero.

Evan Bourne vs. William Regal

Michael Cole clained William Regal was a free agent, but Regal is listed on the Raw roster at WWE.com and was a recent tag partner of Jack Swagger. Cole noted Regal is also the mentor for WWE NXT rookie Skip Sheffield.

During the match, Regal gained control and tried to wear Bourne down with a submission hold down on the mat. Bourne eventually got to his feet and escaped it near the corner. He kicked Regal in the back, but was soon slammed back on the mat. Regal went for the knee trembler but Bourne avoided it, then kneed Regal in the face. With Regal down, Bourne climbed up on the corner and landed Air Bourne for the win.

Winner: Evan Bourne wins via pinfall over William Regal.

Kane vs. Mike Knox

Knox and Kane traded offense early on. Knox began to punch away on Kane in the corner before sending him against the ropes. Kane came back to kick down Knox, then clotheslined him in the corner. After a sidewalk slam, Kane had the near fall. Striker discussed how Kane will be the tallest competitor in 2010 Money in the Bank. Knox regained control with Kane in one corner and whipped him to the opposite. As Knox charged at Kane, Kane came forward and grabbed his throat to deliver the chokeslam.

Winner: Kane wins via pinfall over Mike Knox.

Superstars returned with a video package about CM Punk and the Straightedge Society.

Striker and Grisham discussed Wrestlemania 26 with the Undertaker and Shawn Michaels' impending rematch. They launched the Raw Rebound to show highlights of Michaels' early speech on the show, with HHH coming out to give his support. HHH said he arranged a tag team title rematch for DX later in the show against MizShow. During that main event, DX looked ready to seize back the titles. With Michaels in control and setting up Sweet Chin Music, the Undertaker's image appeared up on the Titantron. Michaels was distracted and this allowed Miz to avoid Sweet Chin Music, then roll up Michaels for the pinfall. In the aftermath, Michaels sat on the mat. HHH went over to comfort his tag partner, but Michaels left the ring. With HHH left alone, Sheamus snuck in and attacked from behind, eventually boot kicking HHH on the outside over the commentary table.

Grisham and Striker talked about the Wrestlemania 26 card including Bret Hart vs. Vince McMahon, Shawn Michaels vs. Undertaker, Edge vs. Chris Jericho and John Cena vs. Batista.

World Champion Chris Jericho made his way down to the ring for the main event before a commercial break.

Goldust vs. Chris Jericho

Goldust recently signed with the Smackdown brand and got to face the World Champ on Superstars. Early in the match, Jericho got cocky and Goldust eventually exploited it. He hit a hip bump on Jericho near the ropes, then clotheslined him out to send Superstars to its final commercial break.

After break, Jericho had control of things and worked on Goldust near the ropes. He stood on the Bizarre One's back using the top rope as leverage. Goldust didn't seem to know where he was as Jericho fought him out of a corner. Goldust swung on a punch in the air then fell to the mat. Jericho catapulted him into the bottom rope. Goldust fell to the outside, and Jericho layed on the corner cockily. As Goldust rolled back in, Jericho underestimated him and got caught in a rollup pin.

Late in the match, Goldust jumped off the corner but Jericho landed a dropkick on him in the air. Goldust barely escaped the pinfall. Later still, Goldust gained momentum with Jericho shoving him to the corner. Jericho hit a Bulldog, but Goldust responded by avoiding Jericho's springboard flip off the ropes. Goldust caught Jericho on a powerslam for a near fall. Goldust went for a suplex move, but Jericho countered and flipped over onto his feet. Jericho immediately turned it into Walls of Jericho to make Goldust tap out.

Winner: Chris Jericho wins due to submission by Goldust.
