WWE Supertars Recap 02.25.10

After the pyro went off, Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler from Raw were on hand for the opening Superstars match, a tag team contest featuring newly acquired superstar, William Regal.

Santino Marella & Chris Masters vs. Jack Swagger & William Regal

Santino and Regal opened the match, with Santino gaining the upperhand. Unfortunately, when Swagger came in, Santino went for the Cobra punch too soon and got leveled by a clothesline. After some time of sustaining the beatdown attack of the heels, Santino finally managed to escape and in came Masters. Masters got on a roll against Swagger, as he was able to drop Swagger to the mat, then ran over to punch Regal on the apron. After a running powerslam with Swagger, Masters set up and locked in the Masterlock. Eve cheered him on from ringside, but Regal came in to the ring. Masters broke the hold and knocked down Regal. Santino came in to take Regal out of the ring. With Masters looking the other way at Santino and Regal, Swagger ran over and clipped him in the back of the leg. From there, he hit the Gutwrench Powerbomb to win it.

Winners: Jack Swagger and William Regal win via pinfall over Santino Marella and Chris Masters.

Primo vs. Zack Ryder

Ryder, another new acquisition on Raw, came to the ring with Rosa Mendes. Into the match, Ryder took control and hit his Rough Ryder leg lariat on Primo to take him down. He followed with a headlock on the mat to wear Primo down. Primo made a comeback though and hit several dropkicks on Ryder. Ryder tried to toss Primo over the top rope, but he landed on the apron. Rosa came over to yell at Primo in Spanish, distracting him momentarily. Primo tried to springboard splash off the top rope at Ryder, but Ryder ducked it. After Primo hit the mat, Ryder hit the Zack Attack to win it.

Winner: Zack Ryder wins via pinfall over Primo.

Cole and Lawler introduced a highlight video from WWE NXT this past Tuesday. Featured were up-and-coming superstars Daniel Bryan, David Otunga, Darren Young and more.

Sylas Young vs. Luke Gallows

Gallows was accompanied to the ring by fellow Straightedge Society member Serena for tonight's squash match. Before the match could begin, Gallows said they were dedicating tonight's match to their leader, CM Punk. Gallows said they are living proof that the Straightedge way is the way to live your life.

Gallows started off aggressive, and hit a huge slam on Young. Young tried to fight back, but to no avail as Gallows retaliated. Gallows whipped Young hard to the opposite corner then ran for a huge splash on him. He brought Young into center ring for a backbreaker, then followed with the Gallows Pole to win it.

After the match, Serena came into the ring and did as Gallows instructed, running to kick Young in the ribs so he rolled out of the ring.

Winner: Luke Gallows wins via pinfall over Sylas Young.

The Raw Rebound was shown next spotlighting the John Cena and Batista incidents and Cena's main event match against The Animal. Cena won after Batista DQ'd himself with a kick to Cena's groin. The win gave Cena a trip to Wrestlemania 26 to have his rematch against Batista for the WWE Title. Unfortunately, Batista continued to attack after the match had ended, ultimately using a steel chair to flatten Cena outside the ring.

As Superstars returned, Matt Striker thanked Kevin Rudolf for providing one of the Wrestlemania 26 theme songs "I Made It (Cash Money Heroes)" which features Birdman, Jay Sean and Lil' Wayne.

Striker and Grisham launched into video clips which showcased how Shawn Michaels vs. The Undertaker's Wrestlemania 26 rematch was built, following the 2009 Slammy Awards on Raw, when Michaels issued his challenge. Undertaker later denied Michaels' request on Raw, so Michaels vowed to win the Royal Rumble so he could claim a title shot, but was eliminated towards the end by Batista. Michaels also failed to qualify for Elimination Chamber PPV, leaving his Wrestlemania status in doubt. At the 2010 Elimination Chamber, Michaels showed up at the finale of the Chamber match where Undertaker had control against Chris Jericho. HBK delivered Sweet Chin Music to lay out Taker allowing Jericho to capture the World Title. This all lead to Undertaker showing up on this past Monday's Raw to accept Michaels' rematch challenge, with the condition that Michaels' career will be on the line in the match.

Striker and Grisham ran down the Wrestlemania 26 matches so far: Michaels vs. Undertaker (Career vs. Streak), Jericho vs. Edge (World Title) and Batista vs. Cena (WWE Title).

Hardy, Maria, Khali and Ranjin Singh all arrived out to the ring to Khali's theme music as Superstars went to commercial.

Maria, Matt Hardy & The Great Khali vs. The Hart Dynasty

Natalya took control against Maria in the match, and then walked over to slap Khali on the chest hard. Khali responded by catching her hand on her next attempt to strike him. DH Smith charged across the ring to knock Khali off the apron, then went to the outside. Meanwhile, the ref was distracted by it and Kidd went for a move on Maria. She slid off his back and slapped him, then crawled under Natalya's legs to tag in Matt Hardy.

Hardy rushed in to clobber Kidd to the mat with a clothesline. Natalya watched then rolled onto the apron when Hardy confronted her. Hardy hit a Powerbomb slam from the corner but couldn't capture the pin. Backstage, Hardy's rookie from WWE NXT, Justin Gabriel was shown watching. Hardy set up for a move on Kidd, but Natalya was back in and grabbed Hardy's hair from behind. Maria came in as well to take Natalya out of the ring. Hardy hit a side effect on DH Smith, now the legal man, but Smith escaped the pin.

In the closing moments, Hardy set up for Twist of Fate but Smith shoved him, Hardy was distracted by Natalya fighting Maria on the outside, so he didn't see Smith get tagged on the back by Kidd. Smith put Hardy up in a bear hug, then Kidd did a springboard clothesline from off the top rope. Hart Dynasty celebrated the victory, as Maria and Khali checked on Hardy in the ring.

Winners: The Hart Dynasty wins via pinfall over Matt Hardy, Maria and Great Khali.
