Raw Results from Anaheim, CA:
The opening segment had John Cena come to the ring to discuss his elbow injury, and said he wouldn't use it as an excuse, but the better man won in a clean fight. He said he's got a giant ball of fluid on his elbow, and will be leaving WWE to have surgery performed. Fans cheered about that, and Cena smirked, before introducing Daniel Bryan. Bryan came out to a huge round of cheers, but got interrupted by Stephanie McMahon before he could talk.She apologized for what happened to Bryan but said her husband did what is best for business. Bryan said he expected that from her or Vince, but not Triple H. He said when you lie with trash, you become like it. Stephanie said she'd let it slide, then eventually mocked his height and looks, saying he wasn't an A but a sold B+. Bryan said if she's going to fire him, he'll give a reason to by finding Orton or Triple H first. Stephanie told Bryan to calm down several times, after he knocked a microphone out of her hands. Eventually, Stephanie called security to come escort Bryan out of the building.
Cody Rhodes defeated Damien Sandow via pinfall. Late in the match, Sandow blocked Cross Rhodes and had a near fall on Cody. Cody and Sandow fought some more before Cody scored a rollup pinfall.
Backstage, Brad Maddox looked at some comments Dolph Ziggler made regarding Triple H's actions at Summerslam. Maddox said Ziggler will face The Shield in a handicap match later on Raw.
Paul Heyman was shown walking backstage with his arm in a sling right before Raw hit a break.
Paul Heyman came to the ring and cut a promo on the Punk-Brock match from Summerslam. He said Punk proved his worth in giving Brock all he could handle last night, but it's time to end this family feud. Heyman offered to take Punk back as his client, when Punk apologizes to him. He said Punk is better with him, and he will guide him to the WWE Title and main event of Wrestlemania. Together, Heyman said, they will be "best in the world."
Cameron & Naomi defeated AJ Lee & Natalya by pinfall. Late in this one, AJ hit a neckbreaker for a two count. Later still, Cameron and Naomi surprised Layla with a move and got the win.
The Shield defeated Dolph Ziggler via pinfall in a 3-on-1 handicap match. Roman Reigns hit a Spear to take down Ziggler for the win.
Alberto Del Rio defeated Sin Cara due to referee stoppage. Late in the match, Cara dove out onto Del Rio outside the ring. Cara appeared to be hurt, so Dr. Sampson checked on him. Del Rio grabbed Sin Cara and brought him into the ring. The ref called for the ball and the doctor tried to check out Sin Cara. ADR stomped on Sin Cara and talked some trash.
Post-match, Del Rio cuts a promo in the ring about how he proved at Summerslam why he's the best World Champ in the history of WWE. He says the Latino community now has someone to truly cheer for. Del Rio continues, but gets interrupted as Ricardo Rodriguez comes out. He says he's glad he doesn't have to stand by Del Rio's side anymore. He says he's proud to represent someone new, and introduces Rob Van Dam. RVD heads to the ring and Del Rio attacks. The two traded strikes, with RVD hitting a superkick to drop Del Rio to the mat. RVD got on the top rope for an attempted Frogsplash, with Del Rio escaping the ring.
Darren Young & Titus O'Neil defeated Jack Swagger and Antonio Cesaro via pinfall. Towards the end of this match, Young dropped Cesaro on his double knee finisher to get the win.
Renee Young interviewed Big Show backstage asking if the rumor's true that he'll team up with Mark Henry to face Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns. Show says it's true, and they're going for the tag titles. GM Brad Maddox comes in and tells Renee to leave. He says he heard Show's comments against Triple H following Summerslam, so tonight Show goes in a handicap match against The Shield, except all members of Shield get to be in the ring at once. Show asked Maddox if he's sure he wants to do that to The Shield, before walking off.
They had a segment in the locker room with Ryback chasing off some of the guys in there, and then picking on one in particular. He throws the guy's gym bag and tells him to go get it, then steps on it so the guy can't pick it up. Ryback slaps him in the face, then makes him open up his bag and spray everything inside with water. He tells the guy to get lost and laughs about it.
The Shield defeated Big Show via pinfall in a 3-on-1 handicap match. Show fought back numerous times, but in the end was just overpowered. The Shield hit their Triple Powerbomb and then covered him at the same time to get the win.
CM Punk came to the ring, angry about last night's match. He dares one fan to get in the ring with him and fight after booing. Punk calls him a "fatson" and tells the guy be a man, or be a "b---h and sit down." Eventually, Punk says if Heyman wants an apology he'll give him one. Paul Heyman comes out with Curtis Axel. Punk told him he's sorry, sorry for taking his eyes off Lesnar last night, and sorry he didn't do more to Heyman. Heyman tells Punk, he's sorry for what's about to happen. He tells Axel go tape up his fists and get ready for a fight. Heyman says if Punk's still in the ring after break, Axel will finish the job that Lesnar started. Raw went to commercials.
After break, Punk was still out in the ring. Axel came down and Punk started to brawl with him. Punk dropped Axel on a chair in the ring, then hit him with it. He threw Axel to the outside. Out there, Axel started to turn the tables and worked on Punk at the ringside area. Punk got control again and hit Axel in the stomach with the ring bell. He brought it back in the ring to try to damage Axel more, but Axel took out his leg and worked on that part of Punk some.
Axel kept driving the chair down on Punk's hurt leg, then hit a neckbreaker. Heyman yelled for Axel to break his leg. Axel tried to stomp on the chair but Punk moved away, then started to fight back. He hit Axel in the back multiple times with the chair, then threw him outside the ring, before tossing him into the steel steps a few times. Punk beat up Axel more, then stared at Heyman who backed up the ramp as "Cult of Personality" played on.
Bray Wyatt defeated R-Truth via pinfall. Late in the match, Truth fought off Wyatt for a bit and hit Harper on the apron. Bray made a comeback and ran Truth over, then after more traded offense, he yelled he is the new face of fear. Wyatt hit his finisher on Truth for the win.
The Usos defeated Heath Slater & Jinder Mahal via pinfall. Late in this one, one of the Uso's dove out of the ring to take down both Drew and Jinder outside the ring. Back in the ring, the other Uso made the tag, then hit the huge Splash off the corner on Slater for the win.
The Miz vs. Wade Barrett was a no contest. Barrett was in control, but suddenly Fandango's music hit to interrupt towards the end. He came to the ring and knocked Miz out to end the matchup.
Backstage, Brad Maddox told Stephanie McMahon that Daniel Bryan is back in the building again after being escorted out by security earlier.
After a commercial break, Stephanie McMahon and Vince were in the ring. Triple H comes out next and The Shield is seen standing on guard in front of the ring. Vince tells the crowd to give it up for The Game. HHH gets in the ring, and Vince talks about how there's a new champion everyone can be proud of now. He said he's proud of his son-in-law, then hugs HHH. The fans chant "You sold out."
HHH talked about why he did what he did last night - for the WWE to continue on. He said he did it for his wife and kids so the WWE can exist in all of our futures. He said he didn't want to do that to Bryan, but let's face it, Bryan is not the face of WWE. He says he doesn't care about Bryan's personal problems. Triple H then introduced the "future and face of WWE, Randy Orton." The rest of the WWE roster was up on the ramp. They all looked at Orton as he headed to the ring.
Orton shook hands with Triple H and Vince, then hugged Stephanie. All three McMahon's applauded for Orton, who then spoke about cashing in his MITB contract when nobody would see it coming. Orton said he owes everything to Triple H. He yells at the crowd for everyone to stand on their feet and show Triple H some respect.
Triple H then brings up that he knows Bryan is in the building, so he should come to the ring to settle his personal issue. HHH tells Shield to step aside and says he doesn't want anyone touching Bryan. HHH called Bryan out and had them play his theme music as he encouraged the crowd to chant "Yes!"
Bryan came out and went down to the ring. He tried to enter, but The Shield attacked him anyways. He fought them off several times, tossing them into the steel steps. However, The Shield regained control after Reigns hit a big Spear to take down Bryan. The Shield prepared to hit their Triple Powerbomb on Bryan, but HHH told them to stop. He told Bryan to get in the ring and get everything off his chest. Bryan is barely able to get to his feet, and Triple H taunts and mocks him. He finally gets in the ring, but Orton hits a quick RKO on him. Vince, Orton, Stephanie and Triple H then raise their hands in victory with Bryan laying on the mat. Raw goes off the air with Orton's music playing.
