Smackdown Recap 2.23.07
Smackdown opened with a recap of No Way Out, where Batista and Undertaker got into a fight at the end of their tag match, leaving Taker laying in the ring with Batista looking down at him. This was revenge for Taker chokeslamming Batista down on RAW.
Michael Cole in ring introduced Batista who came out in a pinstripe suit and entered the ring. Cole began to ask a question but Batista motioned for the mic, shook Cole's hand and Cole left the ring. Batista spoke about Taker's great reign in the WWE, with a 14-0 Wrestlemania winstreak. Batista said he has nothing but respect for Taker but can't apologize for what happened at No Way Out. Batista said that they are now even and can go to Wrestlemania and give a match the fans will never forget. Batista said Undertaker doesn't intimidate him. Batista said he plans to walk into Wrestlemania as World Champion, and out of Wrestlemania as World Champion.

Matt Hardy & Kendrick/London vs Joey Mercury & Deuce/Domino - a six man tag match with Ashley and Cherry rooting on their respective teams. Early on Matt Hardy in the ring vs Mercury, tossing Mercury around the ring and throwing him out of the ring onto Deuce/Domino. Kendrick and London then took over on Mercury with high flying moves off the ropes. The tag champs worked well tagging each other in and out and dropkicking and slamming Mercury. Kendrick about to jump off the top ropes until Domino shoved him. Mercury slapped on a figure 4 and dragged Kendrick over to tag in Deuce. Deuce and Domino then dominated Kendrick in the ring, stomping on him and whipping him into their corner. Deuce Domino and Mercury continued to keep Kendrick away from tagging his partners as they kicked him around on 1 side of the ring and then slamming him down in ring face first. Back from break, the 3 heels were still able to keep Kendrick on their side of the ring for abuse. Kendrick eventually able to tag out to Matt Hardy who then was able to bulldog Mercury and dropkick Deuce at once. Hardy with a leg drop off the top ropes onto Mercury. Domino came in to to disrupt Hardy's pin on Mercury. Kendrick and London in ring threw Domino to the ropes but he slid out under the bottom rope outside the ring with his partner. Kendrick and London then ran and flew over the top ropes onto Deuce/Domino, crashing down on them. Back in the ring, Matt Hardy ducked a move by Mercury and got the Twist of Fate. Matt Hardy collected the pinfall victory for his team!
Kristal backstage interviewed Vickie Guerrero. Vickie hugged Kristal as she said "everything's been taken care of".
A recap of Edge winning the Money in the Bank qualifier match vs RVD on RAW. Later on Smackdown, Kane will face Booker in a falls-count-anywhere qualifier match.
A look back at Rey Mysterio winning the Royal Rumble several years ago, as he dedicated the match to the late Eddie Guerrero.
Scotty 2 Hotty vs Chavo Guerrero - Guerrero, the new Cruiserweight champion looked to take out Scotty 2 Hotty, who also competed for the title. Gregory Helms looked on from the back locker rooms. Early on Guerrero tossed Scotty out of the ring. Scotty back in before 10 but Chavo began to kick and badmouth his opponent, and then choked Scotty on the bottom rope. Chavo with an early pin, but only got the 2 count. Several slams followed by a unique submission maneuver. Chabo then pulling Scotty's arms back and kept his knee to Scotty's back. Scotty able to reverse a maneuver and roll up Chavo for a pin, but only a 2 count. Chavo with more submission moves and then a backbreaker. Scotty able to gain momentum and run off the ropes to slam Chavo down. Scotty then prepared for the WORM. As Scotty went for the move, Guerrero moved out of the ring. Scotty then jumped over the top rope onto Chavo landing in a heap. Back in the ring, Chavo able to pin Scotty using the ropes for leverage. Chavo wins via pinfall. Gregory Helms shown looking on at a TV monitor backstage with an upset look.
A replay of the various hairstyles McMahon showed Trump with on the Titantron, as well as Vince's selection of Umaga for his representative at Wrestlemania. Umaga went on to defeat Jeff Hardy for the IC title later that night.

King Booker w/Queen Sharmelle vs Kane - Falls Count Anywhere (Money in the Bank Qualifying match) - Edge and CM Punk have already qualified for the Money in the Bank match so this match would determine a 3rd entrant. Early on kane taking it to King Booker in the corner, hammering away at the face of his opponent then tossing him outside the ring. Kane followed outside and slammed Booker down on the barricade in front of the audience. Kane went for a cover outside the ring, but only got 2. Back in the ring Booker able to gain the upperhand kicking Kane in the corner of the ring. Booker and Kane trading attacks in the ring, Booker able to toss Kane over the ropes and follow him out. Booker smashed Kanes forehead on the steel steps, then on the announcer table. King Booker brought the ring bell into the ring and attempted to hit Kane with it, but Kane ducked and punched Booker. Booker climbed out the ring and Kane followed after. Kane and Booker fought up the ramp near the side barriers of the audience. Booker able to re-gain control and attempt a pin at the top of the ramp, but Kane kicked out. Kane and Booker fought back down the ramp and Kane threw Booker into the steel steps. Kane with a pin near the steps, but only for 2. Kane tossed Booker back in ring and went up onto the apron. Booker smashed the ring bell on Kane's skull sending Kane down to the outside of the ring as Smackdown hit commercial.
Back from commercial, Booker and Kane back in ring with Booker applying a hold to Kane's shoulder/arm. Kane able to lift Booker up and backslam him to the mat, but Booker kept the hold locked on as the 2 lay on the mat. Booker in control with a kick to Kane and then a series of punches. Booker tossed Kane back out of the ring again and grabbed a steel chair. Kane able to escape from the chair shot and go for a pin on Booker but only til 2. Kane tossed Booker back in ring then went for a move off the top ropes, landing a clothesline on Booker. Kane then with a sidewalk slam on Booker. Booker kicked out after 2. Booker able to toss Kane out of the ring when Kane attempted a move. Booker jumped onto Kane who slapped a chokehold on Kane. Just then the Great Khali came down the ramp and was able to beat Kane down, throwing Kane through a barricade. King Booker able to score a pin over Kane in the crowd. Booker will be in the Money in the Bank Match at Wrestlemania.

Finlay & Little Bastard vs. Boogeyman & Little Boogey - No Way Out Rematch - Little Boogeyman hanging onto Boogeyman's back as he crawled onto the ramp. The two headed to the ring, where Finlay looked on, as Little Bastard was seen peeking out from under the canvas. After tossing Boogeyman out of the ring, Finlay tried to take the pouch hanging in Boogeyman's corner. Little Boogey went up and grabbed the pouch from behind, and gave a mean look to Finlay as he turned around. Finlay shoved Little Boogey out of the ring. As Boogeyman and Finlay fought, Little Boogeyman came back in the ring to fight Finlay. Little Bastard then showed up and got in the ring, taking off his hat and coat and putting his fists up to fight. Little Boogey turned around punching Little Bastard and then clotheslining him. Finlay then kicked Little Boogeyman in the face knocking him down. Boogeyman entered the ring and kicked Finlay in the face. Boogeyman then grabbed Little Bastard who was able to land a suplex on Boogeyman and score a 3 count victory.
Rey Mysterio interview - live in his hometown of San Diego, Mysterio appeared to discuss his WWE plans and his recovery. Rey came into the ring and began discussing how well his rehab has been progressing and how great it feels back to be in a WWE ring. As Rey continued to speak, all of a sudden, Vince McMahon's music came on and Vince strutted down to the ring, interrupting Rey's speech. Vince was followed by 10 security guards in yellow shirts who surrounded the ring as Mr McMahon entered. Vince talked about his upcoming match vs Trump at wrestlemania and then asked Rey who he thinks is going to win. Vince mocked Rey and got down on his knee to ask, mocking Rey's height. Rey called Vince a "Loser" and Vince looked upset. Vince told Rey maybe he should meet Vince's representative for Wrestlemania . Vince then introduced Umaga. In ring, Vince asked Rey to re-consider his answer. Vince gave Rey the microphone back. Then Vince grabbed the cane Rey had been using to walk with, and used it to hit Rey in the stomach. Vince grabbed the stunned Rey and threw him to Umaga. Umaga began to slam Rey and beat on him at Vince's requests. Vince ordred Umaga to drag Rey to the corner of the ring and then run into him full speed, shapping Rey's head back. Medical staff rushed to the ring to bring Rey out in a neck brace on a stretcher as Smackdown left the air.
