Smackdown Recap 2.16.07
A recap of the events leading up to this Sunday's Main Event at the Pay Per View, with Cena/Michaels vs Undertaker/Batista was shown, including the Royal Rumble, Undertaker's selection of Batista's title and then the match held on this past Monday's RAW involving Cena, Michaels, Undertaker and Batista vs MVP, Kennedy, Orton and Edge.
Smackdown kicked off with Boogeyman crawling onto the ramp through smoke, and then begin to walk down the ramp. Finlay came up behind him and knocked him down outside the ring. The 2 got into the ring and the match began. Finlay with an early advantage, taking Boogeyman down to the mat. Finlay went for an early cover but Boogeyman kicked out. Finlay tried to drag Boogeyman to center of the ring, but Boogeyman used the leg to pull/throw Finlay out of the ring. Boogeyman waited for Finlay to re-enter ring then clotheslined him. Finlay thrown into corner and Boogeyman ran at him, but Finlay moved away. Finlay then began to work on Boogeyman. Finlay removed corner turnbuckle and ref turned attention to Finlay as he grabbed his Shalalee. Little Bastard entered ring with a stick to hit Boogeyman. Boogeyman rolled away, and then a mini-Boogeyman came out from under the ring and up the steps. Little Boogeyman entered the ring and speared Little Bastard down. The 2 began to fight. The ref turned his attention to the 2 mini wrestlers. Boogeyman then used his stick to jab into Finlay and knock him down. Boogeyman scores the pinfall victory as ref turns back to see him covering Finlay. Boogeyman and Little Boogey outside the ring each had a handful of worms for a snack.
Deuce vs Brian Kendrick - Deuce dominating Kendrick early in the match, until Kendrick able to kick out of a submission hold on the mat. Kendrick began to fly off the ropes and throw clotheslines/punches at Deuce who started to stagger. Kendrick then leaped in air and dropkicked Deuce to the mat. From outside the ring Domino grabbed the back of Kendrick's leg. Kendrick turned attention to him briefly, then Paul London flewat Domino and knocked him down outside the ring. The ref focused his attention on the 2 guys outside the ring. As ref was chastising London/Domino, Kendrick started to go up onto corner ropes for a move. Domino able to get away from London outside ring and went over to corner. Domino then pushed Kendrick down off corner turnbuckle down to the mat. As Kendrick sat up to recover, Deuce was up and ran at him with a high boot to the face. The ref turned back to see Kendrick knocked out, as Deuce took a pinfall victory. Deuce & Domino are ready for their big title matchup at No Way Out vs Kendrick & London.
A segment King Booker & Queen Sharmell's "At the Movies" was presented, with Sharmell and Booker giving a review of the DVD "See No Evil" by Kane. Booker said when he sees the movie he doesn't see evil, he sees a man who is disturbed. Booker said he will vanquish at No Way Out. Booker showed a clip from "See No Evil" and said he's seen scarier movies with the Muppets. Then a clip was shown with Booker standing in front of a screen showing "See No Evil". Booker with axe in hand yelled for everyone to run, because he has an axe too and he is King of the World. Sharmell clapped for Booker's performance. Just then the lights went out in the backroom with Booker and Sharmell. Lights began to flash red, as Sharmell and Booker were horrified. Kane's voice came on saying "This Sunday there is No Way Out". Just then a knife cut through the curtain behind Sharmell and Booker, and Kane appeared through the rip in the curtain, laughing maniacally as Booker and Sharmell fled the scene.
Another recap of the carnage that occurred at Monday Night Raw after Cena, HBK, Batista and Undertaker won their 8 man tag matchup. Batista and Taker left Cena and Michaels layed out in the ring after they were all victorious.
Michaels seen in back lockerroom of Smackdown with Cena. Cena told HBK he knows they face off at Wrestlemania but wants to make sure that HBK has his back tonight. Michaels assured Cena he has his back and not to worry. Kennedy and MVP seen walking in back area ready for the matchup.
Shawn Michaels & John Cena vs. MVP & Mr. Kennedy - RAW's tag team champs appearing on Smackdown in a match to prepare for their No Way Out contest. Kennedy reversed an early arm hold on HBK. HBK used his elbow to hit Kennedy in the face, then armbar takedowns. Kennedy able to back Michaels into a corner and began punching him and ramming him in the stomach. Michaels able to escape from Kennedy and tag Cena. Cena began to slam down Kennedy several times and went for the pin. Kennedy kicked out, and Cena continued the assault, until Kennedy able to clothesline Cena and tag in MVP. MVP went to work on Cena for a while, until he tagged Kennedy back in to continue. Kennedy threw Cena to corner and ran at him, but Cena moved, and able to tag in HBK. HBK then able to take control with several moves on MVP and Kennedy. HBK with a flying elbow off top corner onto Kennedy. HBK prepared for the Sweet Chin Music, but MVP on side apron went to clothesline him. Michaels ducked and then Cena ran over to knock MVP off apron. Kennedy attempted a clothesline/punch at HBK, who ducked, and then went for the kick on Kennedy. Kennedy slid out of ring to escape and re-group with MVP. Just then, HBK flew over top ropes onto both opponents, leaving them laying outside the ring as Smackdown hit commercial break.
Back from commercial, Michaels working on Kennedy in the corner of ring. Tagging in Cena, the 2 then double-clotheslined Kennedy. Michaels and Cena working well together to take down Kennedy. Kennedy able to turn the tables on HBK and began dropping elbows on a fallen HBK, then tagged in MVP. Michaels went for a clothesline on MVP, then ran to other side, but Kennedy pulled the ropes down so HBK fell out of ring. MVP then able to take advantage of Michaels in the ring after Kennedy beat him up outside of the ring. MVP & Kennedy taking advantage of a battered HBK in the ring, keeping him in the corner and away from a tag to Cena. HBK out cold as Kennedy tried for a pin, but HBK somehow kicked out. MVP and Kennedy with several back and forth tags to continue beating and wearing down Michaels. Kennedy with a submission hold down on the mat with HBK. HBK fought to get to his feet and tried to move towards Cena. Kennedy with a punch at Michaels, Michaels with a chop to Kennedy's chest. Kennedy then with a reverse backslam, laying HBK out in ring. Kennedy went for the Canton Bomb off the top ropes but missed. HBK finally able to tag out to Cena who came in and began to attack both Kennedy and MVP. Cena threw Kennedy over top rope and then slammed MVP down center ring. Cena with the 5 Knuckle Shuffle on MVP. Cena preparing for the "F-U" as Kennedy entered the ring with a chair to hit Cena. Michaels came over from corner and kicked Kennedy down. Cena able to land the F-U on MVP and score a pinfall victory. HBK and Cena with the victory.
Kristal backstage telling Teddy she can't decide what to do for Sunday's No Way Out Talent contest. Just then Jillian entered singing horribly. Jillian told Teddy she can't decide what song to sing this sunday, so she might rap instead. Jillian launched into an awful rap verse, and Teddy told her thats fine and good luck this weekend. As Jillian left, Kristal told Teddy she has a hidden talent he should see. Kristal stripped out of her outfit to her bra and panties and began to dance/rub up against Teddy as Smackdown went to commercial.

Teddy Long in back office with a half naked Kristal exiting. Teddy sat down to wipe off his glasses. A knock at the door, Bobby Lashley entered and said hello to Teddy. Just then Mr. Kennedy entered screaming at Teddy Long about losing the tag team match earlier. Kennedy looked Lashley in the face and said he beat him before and could beat him again. Kennedy demanded a title matchup at No Way Out vs Lashley. Teddy said he would talk to ECW officials and see what he can do. As Kennedy left, Lashley told Teddy to make it happen.
Ashley came down to the ring in an elegant high cut black dress. In ring, Ashley presented the crowd with a larger than life poster of her upcoming Playboy cover.
Gregory Helms vs. Scotty 2 Hotty - As Scotty entered the ring and posed for the crowd, Helms started with an attack from behind and the bell rang. Helms pounding away at Scotty early on. Scotty able to take control of the match and get Helms down to the mat. Scotty prepared for the WORM, but just then Davari came running into the ring and knocked Scotty down. As Davari posed and gloated, Funaki ran down and into the ring and knocked down Davari. Then Jamie Noble ran into ring and hit Funaki with his move, leaving Funaki rolling around down on the mat. Shannon Moore ran out and into the ring then flew off the top ropes onto Jamie Noble. Helms back to his feet, grabbed Shannon Moore and landed his finisher on him. Helms escaped the ring and looked on to all the wrestlers inside. Helms raised his title belt up for all to see. Just then, Jimmy Wang yang ran down and knocked Helms down from behind. Yang tossed Helms back in ring then Yang climbed top ropes. Yang with the backflip off the ropes onto Helms. It appears theres a bunch of wrestlers gunning for Helms, the longest reigning Smackdown champion.
Smackdown with a preview of "The Grindhouse" a new double-feature movie by Tarentino and Rodriguez. The double feature has two new flicks, "Planet Terror" and "Death Proof".
Edge and Orton backstage discussing a game plan for the match vs. Undertaker & Batista tonight. Edge said they need to capitalize on the fact their two opponents will be facing off at Wrestlemania. Edge said tonight they make Taker and Batista turn on each other and there's no way they will lose then.
Main Event Tag Match - Rated RKO vs Undertaker & Batista - The match started off with Undertaker and Edge in ring. Undertaker taking it to Edge's shoulder early on, then went old school off the top ropes holding Edge's arm and then slamming down onto him. A tag made to Batista who then came in and slammed Edge down several times, then knocked Orton off the side apron. Batista threw Edge to the corner and went at him. Orton entered the ring and Batista grabbed him as well throwing him against Edge in the corner. Batista ran into both man ramming into them. Undertaker then entered the ring and Batista/Taker clotheslined RKO out of the ring as Smackdown hit commercial break.
Back from commercial break, Batista in ring throwing Edge into the corner, then clotheslining him down. Batista pulled Edge by the legs from the corner then let him drop onto the mat. As Batista ran against the ropes, Edge nailed Batista in the back. Batista turned around and knocked Orton to the outside from the apron. Batista then turned as Edge running at him and managed to toss Edge out of the ring. Out of the ring, Orton managed to get up and hit Batista from behind. Edge back in ring, ran and did a sliding dropkick into Batista. RKO then taking advantage of doubleteaming Batista in the ring and preventing him from tagging out to Taker. Batista able to escape Orton and stand to make a move for a tag. Just then Edge entered the ring, ran of the ropes and clotheslined Batista before he could tag. Orton still down on the mat, Batista finally able to get over to tag Taker. Taker in the ring took it to Edge and Orton. Taker slapped a chokehold on both Orton and Edge but they kicked out and threw Taker to the ropes. Taker ran back at them as they tried to clothesline him, but Taker ducked. Taker ran back and threw a shoulder at Edge as Batista pulled Orton out of the ring. Taker threw Edge into the corner ropes but the ref got in the way and was knocked out. Edge able to spear Taker, and then grabbed two chairs from outside the ring. As Edge prepared the conchairto, Taker sat up and grabbed Edge by the throat. Taker stood up and prepared a chokeslam. Orton managed to throw Batista into the steel ringpost, then ran into the ring and got Taker from behind with a low blow. Taker stunned fell to the mat. Edge able to hit Taker on the skull with a steel chair, a new ref ran into the ring. Ref counting Edge's pinfall on Taker, but Taker escaped after 2. Batista re-entered the ring and picked up Orton for a powerbomb, but Edge ran at him with, spearing Batista with Orton falling on top of him. Undertaker back to his feet caught Edge off guard with Batista and Orton layed out. Undertaker with a chokeslam and then a Last Ride on Edge to score the pinfall victory. As Batista and Taker were announced as the winners, John Cena and Shawn Michaels ran down into the ring. Michaels with a Sweet Chin Music Kick to Undertaker laying him out on the mat. Cena surprised Batista and put him in the F-U, slamming Batista down. Cena/HBK celebrated over their fallen opponents for the upcoming Pay Per View, then exited the arena.
