WWE Smackdown Recap 2.9.07
Smackdown from Omaha, Nebraska kicked off with Undertaker entering the arena and ring for his match with The Miz. Undertaker made quick work of the Miz and had an early pin opportunity, but pulled up so that he could punish Miz for his remarks about Undertaker from the Beat the Clock challenge match they had. Undertaker soon had Miz tombstoned and pinned in about 5 minutes, for a pinfall. After the victory was awarded, Undertaker went outside of the ring and removed all the tv's. Undertaker then pulled Miz out of the ring and put him high up above his head, slamming himdown through the announcer's table on "The Last Ride". Miz lay stunned in the debris of the table as Undertaker posed in ring and the lights darkened. Taker walked up the ramp and gave the 1 arm raised up sign to the crowd before his exit.
A prom was shown for Rey Mysterio 619 next indicates Mysterio will be back in 2 weeks at his hometown of San Diego. The announcers said they heard Mysterio was critically injured at the hands of Chavo Guerrero. JBL said he doesnt believe Mysterio will be back to wrestle ever again.
Deuce & Domino vs. Kendrick & London - non-title matchup - A rematch from last week after Deuce/Domino dismantled the current tag champs. A 4 way tag ladder re-match Hardyz, Kendrick London, MNM & Taylor/Regal announced for the tag titles was announced for No Way Out Pay Per View. An early kick done by Deuce on Kendrick brought him down fast. Domino entered and continued to work on Kendrick smashing his arm down across his back and going for a quick cover. Deuce came back in and continued to hammer away on Kendrick and then ran across ring to knock London off the apron. Deuce went for several punches/chops until Kendrick blocked. Deuce jumped in the air and kicked the head of Kendrick, knocking him out. London ran in to break up the pin. Domino came in and tried for a pin but Kendrick kicked out. Kendrick able to make the tag out and London entered teh ring, flying around dropkicking Deuce and Domino. London dropkicked Domino off the apron. London climbed the corner ropes for a move. As Domino got on the side apron, Kendrick ran across ring and knocked Deuce off the apron. Kendrick then tried to fly over the ropes onto Deuce, but Deuce moved. Domino then got up and grabbed London and slammed him down off the top ropes. Domino picked up London, and Deuce climbed the top ropes, smashing his arm down on London to knock him out for the pinfall, as Kendrick lay outside the ring. Deuce & Domino defeat the tag champs yet again.
A recap was shown of King Booker and Kane's new feud which began at the Royal Rumble when Kane 1st eliminated Booker from the match. Booker re-entered the ring illegally and eliminated Kane. Kane then crashed Booker's Key to the City Ceremony in Houston last week. Booker and Queen Sharmelle seen backstage talking to Teddy about what Kane did to them. Booker asked Teddy to suspend Kane from Smackdown. Teddy Long told Booker that he would have to face Kane at No Way Out to settle things.
Matt Hardy vs. Joey Mercury - Hardy looking for revenge after Mercury knocked Matt out last week in his match vs Miz. Hardy took it to Mercury early on applying pressure to the protective mask Joey wears. Mercury threw Hardy to the ropes, Hardy caught the ropes and held on. Mercury ran at Matt Hardy who then threw Mercury out of the ring. Hardy flew over the top ropes landing on Mercury and knocking him down. Hardy and Mercury back in the ring after a break. Hardy had Mercury on the mat, hammering away at the face/mask of Mercury. Hardy managed to knock Mercury down and climb the ropes. Mercury got up and grabbed Matt's leg, Hardy went to kick Mercury away, but Mercury pulled Matt's leg and slammed him to the mat. Hardy then grabbing his leg in pain, appearing to injur his left knee. Mercury then went to work on that knee injury with elbow drops and severe submission moves twisting the leg of Matt Hardy. Mercury with Matt Hardy down on the mat began pounding away at Hardy's knee, then began to pull Matt Hardy's boot off. Mercury took off Hardy's boot then threw it to the side of the ring. Mercury then did serious work on the injured and exposed leg/knee of Matt Hardy, placing Matt Hardy's leg on the bottom rope, then climbing to the top rope. Hardy got up and managed to climb the ropes as well and superplexed mercury off the ropes. Hardy still in pain, but struggling to get to his feet and go blow for blow with Mercury. Mercury with Hardy in the corner, but Matt Hardy kicked out, and then did a bulldog slamming Mercury to the mat. Matt went for the pin but only a 2 count. Matt with a leg drop off the top ropes onto Mercury. Another 2 count. Hardy threw Mercury to the ropes, then went to do the Twist of Fate. Mercury countered and ended up rolling Matt Hardy up for the 3 count. Mercury wins.
Mr. Kennedy entered the arena and then the ring, as his mic dropped down and the spotlight went onto him. Kennedy began talking about how all he hears about is that people are saying Undertaker will be facing Batista for the title at Wrestlemania. Kennedy said its alot of buzz going on and he is the "Buzzkill". Kennedy told the crowd how dare they and the Undertaker overlook him. Mr Kennedy said he should have been World Heavyweight champion after the match he had nearly won vs Batista at the Royal Rumble. Kennedy guaranteed that when Batista goes home tomorrow, the title will belong to Kennedy. As Kennedy continued to talk trash, all of a sudden Batista came running down the ramp and entered the ring to give Kennedy a beating. Batista knocked Kennedy down and out of the ring. Out of the ring, Kennedy managed to throw Batista into the steel post, then Kennedy escaped into the crowd as Batista yelled for him to get back there and fight.
Finlay vs Boogeyman -
Boogeyman entered the arena, crawling on the ramp with his clock in mouth, as smoke filled the arena. Last week Boogeyman cost Finlay a match vs Chris Benoit for the US Title, after Boogeyman took Little Bastard from under the ring. Finlay went for an early headbutt on Boogeyman, but hurt his own head more. Finlay rolled out of the ring, but Boogeyman followed him out and tossed him back into the ring. Finlay with a huge clothesline on Boogeyman bringing him down to the mat. After an attempted move off the top rope, Boogeyman stuck his leg up and knocked Finlay down. Boogeyman then began manhandling Finlay around the ring with bodyslams, and a splash. Finlay then able to counter but Boogeyman with a foot to the face as Finlay came off the ropes. Just then, Little Bastard crawled out from under the ring and went to grab Boogeyman's satchel/bag from the corner. Boogeyman grabbed Little Bastard and brought him into the ring. Boogeyman then reached into his bag for a handful of worms to get Little Bastard. Little Bastard terrified, but rolled out of the ring as the ref turned his attention to him. Finlay managed to grab his shalalee and smash it into Boogeyman's leg. Finlay scores the pinfall as the ref turns his attention back to the match. Finlay wins, as Little Bastard runs up the ramp screaming, while Boogeyman in ring snacks on his worms.
Davari vs. Gregory Helms, Cruiserweight Championship - It was noted Gregory Helms has held the title over one year now in Smackdown, making history. Helms took it to Davari early on, and went to climb the top ropes for a move. Davari grabbed the ropes causing Helms to fall to the mat. Davari then using a bunch of moves on Helms' back. Davari taking advantage of a fallen Helms in the ring, climbed to the top rope for a leg drop. Helms moved away so Davari missed. Helms able to get back to his feet and clothesline Davari. Helms able to reverse a grapple move by Davari and slam Davari down for a pin. After a 2 count, Helms tried several moves including his finisher. Davari able to push Helms away into the corner. Helms then tried to roll up Davari for a pin and use the ropes, but Davari reversed the roll up. Using the ropes without the ref seeing, Davari scored a 3 count and quickly left the ring with his victory.

Kristal backstage with Teddy Long, GM of Smackdown. Kristal said she needs Teddy's honest opinion about whether she should model for Victoria's Secret. Kristal removes her robe to reveal a black and white piece of lingerie she was wearing. Teddy says she looks real good and goes to hand her her robe, but then Jillian enters singing a Beyonce song in awful fashion. Kristal mocks her, and Kristal and Jillian argue about who's more talented. Teddy Long said he has a great idea. At No Way Out, they will invite all the Divas from each brand to a "Diva Talent Contest" to showcase their talents.
Main event - Mr. Kennedy vs Batista for the WWE Championship - Batista entered the match with a bandage on his one arm after Kennedy threw him into the steel post earlier on. Batista aggressive early on taking it to Kennedy, until Kennedy managed to get a thumb to the eye of Batista and turn the match around. Kennedy then taking it to Batista with chops and punches, until Kennedy tried to whip Batista to the ropes. Batista reversed it and kicked Kennedy in the face. Batista put Kennedy up on the top ropes and went to slam him off, until Kennedy stuck a thumb to Batista's eye and then kicked him down to the mat. Batista lay on the mat with his shoulder appearing to be injured more. Back in the ring after a break, Kennedy continued to go at the injured shoulder of Batista. As both contestants fell out of the ring, Kennedy managed to throw Batista into the steel steps, further hurting his shoulder. Kennedy got to the top ropes but Batista got up to counter. Kennedy kicked Batista back down to the mat. Kennedy re-climbed the ropes and performed a Canton bomb on Batista. A pinfall attempt only reached 2 by Kennedy, as he tried to cheat using the ropes for leverage. Batista reversed the pin and rolled up Kennedy, but only for 2. Kennedy with a strong hold on Batista keeping him down on the mat with pressure on the shoulder. Batista managed to get to his feet, hold still on and then lift up Kennedy for a backslam. Both men down on the mat and Kennedy still had the hold locked on Batista's shoulder. Kennedy thrown to the ropes but managed to fly back into Batista knocking him down, but the force sent Kennedy backwards out of the ring.
Out of the ring, Kennedy took the championship belt. As Batista went to grab Kennedy out of the ring, but Kennedy managed to smash the belt across Batista's head. The ref didnt see the move as Kennedy entered the ring then kicked Batista down. Kennedy with a pinfall, but Batista kicked out at 2. As the 2 fought further in the ring, Batista still favoring and holding his injured shoulder. Batista lifted up Kennedy for a spine buster, but unable to go for the pin for a while. As Batista covered, Kennedy kicked out after 2. Batista then with a series of powerslams and clotheslines and spine busters. Batista with a serious look in his eyes as he continued to slam Kennedy and then the Batista Bomb. Batista with the pinfall victory to defend his title and now will get to put it on the line at Wrestlemania vs Undertaker. As Batista celebrating in ring, suddenly Undertaker's music came on and the arena went dark. Undertaker rising up from near top of the entrance ramp, in smoke, staring down to Batista at the ring. Batista standing on the ropes held his belt up high.
