Benoit Toxicology Results Announced
A press conference was held today at 2:30 PM EST to announce the results of Chris Benoit's toxicology report. Here are notes from the Fox News coverage:
Scott Ballard, the District Attorney for Fayetteville Georgia appeared first and said this is still an ongoing investigation and is still being seen as a double murder-suicide. Ballard turned things over to Dr. Kris Sperry, Georgia Chief Medical Examiner. Dr. Sperry reported that 3 different drugs were found in Nancy Benoit's system, Hydrocodone (Vicodin), Hydromorphone and Xanax. Sperry said these drugs were all at a normal level for prescription or therapeutic purposes and that Hydromorphone usually comes as a breakdown of the Hydrocodone drug. Sperry said Nancy had a .184 blood alcohol level which may or may not mean she was intoxicated at the time of death. Sperry said this could also be due to post-mortem production of alcohol when her body was decomposing. It was announced that 7 year old Daniel Benoit had an elevated level of Xananx present in his blood level. Sperry said he concludes Daniel was likely sedated by the drug Xanax prior to his murder, because this drug is not normally prescribed to children.
Sperry said Chris Benoit had the drugs Xanax and Hydrocodone (Vicodin) present in his toxicology report, both at normal prescription levels. Sperry also said Chris Benoit's urine tests showed presence of an elevated level of Testosterone but no artificial steroids. Due to these test results they determined that Benoit had been injecting Testosterone. Sperry said he is unsure why Benoit was taking Testosterone. GHB was tested for in all 3 individuals but was not found in any of the victims Sperry said these results don't give any indication of motive in the crime. Sperry said Benoit was not at a toxic or overdose level for the drugs he was on.
Sperry also discussed that they could not determine if Daniel Benoit had Fragile X Syndrome and it is impossible to determine now by testing. DA Scott Ballard said there are other parts of the investigation they still need to follow up on. He also said WWE has not presented the findings of Chris Benoit's drug test in April to him but may have turned it over to the Sherrif's office.

this blows their theory that steroids had anythign to do with it...but my thought that Chris was drugged and killed, framing him for the murders,is gone as well. IN MY OWN OPINION...I now feel like most of the others do and like the evidence is pointing to...like he did it. Now we will neve know what led to this horrific crime...I am still in shock...anger will come later...right now my prayers are with the families. GOD bless them.
