ECW & Mr. Kennedy Sinking?

Two things which seem to look a bit weak to me lately are ECW, and Mr. Kennedy. Now don't get me wrong, I believe in the WWE and what it has to offer us, but to have ECW staying around with a roster of under 20 guys, and only really 8 who wrestle, makes you wonder. And with Mr. Kennedy, a quick loss to Super Crazy just makes him look weak.

I had been reading and hearing rumors of how Mr. Kennedy was going to be the next big superstar for WWE. I'm sure he still can be, but not if they are putting him into situations like they have. I understand the injury causing him to lose to Edge. The fact they had him proclaiming he would cash in his "Money in the Bank" at Wrestlemania in a year didn't quite make sense, until he lost it. Then there was the very very quick loss to Super Crazy. I don't understand why Mr. Kennedy needed this weak loss right now. Don't include him in the tournament or give him a different heel role in it (such as interfering in someone else's match). Making him lose in under 30 seconds doesn't help his credibility as a top notch star wrestler.

Then there's ECW on Sci Fi. They have some talented guys in Punk, Nitro and Burke, among others. They also sent some guys over from Raw and Smackdown who don't seem to fit yet. Boogeyman and Viscera. Maybe they will form a 3 man tag team clique with Kevin Thorn, similar to Ministry of Darkness. That would make things interesting. There only seems to be about 3 guys right now who are top contenders for Johnny Nitro's title: Punk, Burke and Cor Von. How much will we see Burke and Cor Von facing Nitro? Maybe a heel turn for either of the latter, but right now it seems we will see a constant Nitro vs Punk feud, and you have to wonder how quickly it will becoming tiresome to watch.

I'm still awaiting them to send Val Venis over to ECW. He seems like he could help train stars there such as Miz and other youngsters and make them into more credible competitors.

What are your thoughts on Mr. Kennedy and ECW? Feel free to comment below.

Didn't Kennedy hurt his arm some time ago and that's why he gave up his title before the year like he said, and also if he is still injured I would say that's why the easy loss to Super Crazy, If you noticed in the match he doesn't use that arm much if not at all...
That's all,
Jerri

What is hurting ECW to me is two things: TNA and the fact that for some reason they dont let the ECW stars go all out like they used to. ECW would be much better if they could raid some of the top TNA talent like AJ Styles, Petey Williams, Christopher Daniels etc. Those guys would be great in ECW and Vince needs to let ECW be ECFnW again, let the chairs fly, let stars go through tables and have all out chaos like it used to be. Then it would be interesting again just like the old days.

Thanks,
Patrick

I believe CM Punk is worthy of ECW title. this match with Nitro seems very interesting. Monty Brown or shall I say Cor Von should be able to speak more often or compete more.
