ECW Recap 07.03.07
ECW had a new intro song and showed footage of its various stars. Johnny Nitro came down to the ring with his ECW belt on to open the show.
Joey Styles noted that CM Punk will face Johnny Nitro for the ECW title at Great American Bash. CM Punk and Nitro chose each other's opponents for tonight in "Pick Your Poison" matches. Styles announced Nitro chose Kevin Thorn for CM Punk to face later on, but first Johnny Nitro would fight Tommy Dreamer.
Tommy Dreamer vs. Johnny Nitro -
Nitro used a forearm uppercut to Dreamer early on followed by a neckhold, but Dreamer fought his way out. Nitro tried to get on the top turnbuckle for a move, but Dreamer went over and knocked him off. Dreamer then put Nitro in a hold and started punching away. Nitro managed to use an armbar to slam Dreamer down face first, then started applying a hold to Dreamer's arm. Nitro continued to target the left arm of Dreamer. Nitro and Dreamer both spilled out of the ring when Dreamer clotheslined Nitro over the ropes. With both men back to the ring,Dreamer tried to get on the apron and suplex over the ropes. Nitro countered and then dropkicked Dreamer back out of the ring as ECW hit commercial break.
Back from break, Nitro had an arm hold on Dreamer back in the ring. During break, Nitro had smashed Dreamer's arm into the ring post outside the ring. Dreamer fought his way to his feet, but Nitro used 3 kicks to the shoulder of Dreamer to knock him down. Nitro continued to attack Dreamer's left shoulder/arm. Dreamer finally able to toss Nitro to the corner, but once again Nitro took momentum and did another move on the injured arm. Nitro missed a spinning kick off the turnbuckle and Dreamer clotheslined him down. Dreamer started to gain control despite having 1 good arm to use. Dreamer tried for a pin too close to the ropes and Nitro able to break the pin. Dreamer hung Nitro upside down in the corner then dropkicked him. Dreamer then stood Nitro up for a finisher, but Nitro countered. Nitro grabbed Dreamer and slammed him down with his "leg spin" type move for the pinfall victory.
Winner: Johnny Nitro wins via pinfall over Tommy Dreamer.
Footage shown from this past Monday's Raw "Beat the Clock" tournament to determine #1 contender for Cena's title. King Booker, Randy Orton, Mr. Kennedy and Bobby Lashley all competed. Lashley beat his opponent, Shelton Benjamin in the quickest time. During the contract signing, Lashley surprised Cena with a spear, then posed with the title briefly.
A promo was shown for Boogeyman with highlights of the mayhem and madness he has caused various opponents.

Early on Punk used a series of kicks to Nitro's leg to take him down and force him out of the ring. Back in the ring, Nitro able to do a spinning kick to the head of Punk, knocking him down. Nitro put a hold on Punk in the center of the ring. Punk got back to his feet to battle back, but Nitro clotheslined him right down. Punk and Nitro fought more and Punk tried to charge at Nitro in the corner. Nitro with a kick to Punk's face to counter.Punk finally able to gain some control after a kick to the back of Nitro's head. The 2 men started punching each other center of the ring, but Punk got the upperhand, knocking Nitro down several times. Punk ran at Nitro in the corner again but Nitro kicked Punk in the face again. Punk went for his finisher, but Nitro escaped off his shoulders. Punk finally connected with Nitro in the corner and then did a bulldog on him. Punk tried to do a move off the ropes, but Nitro moved. Nitro able to grab Punk on the ropes and do a spinning slam of Punk to the mat. Nitro then dragged Punk to the center of ring to score the pinfall victory.
A promo show for "The Miz" saying The Miz will crash reality.
Kevin Thorn vs. CM Punk - CM Punk grabbed Thorn with a hold from behind, but Thorn countered. Punk able to trip Thorn to the mat and start to attack. Thorn able to get back up and then ram Punk to the corner. Thorn finally able to toss Punk out of the ring, then went out to start ramming him into the ring and crowd barrier. Thorn left Punk laying outside the ring. Thorn got back in the ring then went back on the apron. Punk able to get back up and kicked Thorn in his leg. Thorn rolled into the ring, but Punk got on the apron and flipped over the ropes onto the fallen Thorn. Thorn rolled out of the ring onto the floor as ECW took a commercial break.
Back from break, Punk had Thorn in the ring down on the mat in an armhold. Thorn got to his feet and rammed Punk back to the corner. Thorn whipped Punk to the other corner, then ran at him, but Punk went to jump over him. Thorn caught Punk and then was able to slam Punk down on the top ropes. Thorn with a necklock on Punk in the center of the ring, followed by a slam and a clothesline on him. Thorn continued to attack and punish Punk center of the ring. Thorn tried to throw Punk to the corner and run at him, but Punk countered. Thorn still able to grab Punk and slam him down near the corner. Thorn went to drop off the turnbuckle on Punk, but Punk stuck his knees up. Punk then gained momentum, knocking Thorn down off the ropes. Punk with a bulldog on Thorn off the corner ropes, and attempted pin. Punk went to climb the ropes, but Thorn came over and picked him up for a slam. Punk able to escape and again slammed Thorn down for a pin attempt. Punk tried for his finisher, but Thorn slid off. Thorn picked up Punk for the crucifix, but Punk slid off and then delivered a strong kick to Thorn's head. Punk with the pinfall victory.
