" As fans flooded into American Airlines Center on Monday to watch their favorite World Wrestling Entertainment stars, they continued to cope with the bizarre, violent end of one of its biggest names, Chris Benoit.
Authorities say Mr. Benoit, 40, strangled his wife, Nancy, 43, and their son, Daniel, 7. He then placed Bibles next to their bodies before hanging himself June 24 on the cable of a weight machine in his suburban Atlanta home.
"I hate what happened," said Lisa Reese, a wrestling fan from Dallas who brought a small handmade sign to the event with Mr. Benoit's name, picture and date of death. "I loved Chris' moves, but it's awful what he did."
Ms. Reese's sign, and at least a dozen more like it, were confiscated by security personnel at entrances to the arena, where matches for the shows Monday Night Raw and Smackdown! were being played out.
Similar signs were confiscated at Tuesday's taping in San Antonio, as WWE officials have tried to downplay the murder-suicide."
