Rhodes nearly made a comeback, even nailing Orton with his signature “Flip Flop ‘n Fly” elbow sequence, but it was once again the cowbell that was his undoing. Hornswaggle wins the Cruiserweight Title via pinfall in the Cruiserweight Open
The rules of the Cruiserweight Open certainly benefited Hornswoggle who happened to be in the ring when the match started, making him a legal participant. Seeing Jamie Noble lying stunned on the canvas, the diminutive Irishman climbed up top and executed a perfect Tadpole Splash to pick up the three-count.
Carlito defeats Sandman in Singapore Cane on a Pole Match
Many considered Sandman to be the favorite heading into the Singapore Cane on a Pole Match; and it looked like the former construction worker was heading towards the win when he was the first to the weapon. But Carlito found a way to win the match his way - with a Back Stabber.
Surprisingly only one title changed hands and it went to the smallest competitor in all of WWE, a guy who hangs out under the ring, Hornswaggle. As cool as that is, the Pay Per Views continue to have a general lack of title changes. Watch out for Summerslam, its a bigger pay per view event and will most likely give us several title changes.
