Thoughts on 10.22.07 Raw

Last night's Raw made for a decent show overall with several key moments. The Candice Michelle injury appears legit, as WWE.com is reporting she's out 4-6 weeks. It can be tough to tell if an injury is serious these days, because a few weeks ago they made a big production of "continuing camera coverage" after HHH was pummeled by Umaga. But when they start handing Candice water bottles and weren't playing music as Orton was shown backstage, it became more obvious. Let's hope for a speedy recovery for Candice who has really been improving lately in the ring. Luckily, there is no diva match scheduled for Cyber Sunday, so WWE won't have to scramble.

That would also bring up the 2007 Diva Search. Not sure why they needed to televise Lena being sent home like that, but it's free publicity for her. I'm personally rooting for Eve, as I think she can make a great Lita type Latina diva for the WWE. Brooke has a look similar to Stacy Keibler (minus the legs), so either one of these girls will do a decent job. Also, in year's past we have even seen losing divas return to have a part in the WWE. Recently single Maria seems to be the most successful "loser" diva from the contest so far.

Santino Marella continues to be funny as a heel, and we are all continuing to wonder when and where he gets the impending "Stone Cold Stunner" done on him. Possibly at Cyber Sunday when Austin is a guest referee? Makes sense. We also were shown the Jericho ad on the Titantron. If Jericho made his return right then and there it would have been a magical moment.

Cody Rhodes and Hardcore Holly make for a good tag team. Rhodes will need to improve but he's a rookie and making strides. Maybe they will be competing for the tag titles now with the likes of Kendrick and London and the Highlanders.

It was also nice to see DH Smith, the son of legendary British Bulldog, Davey Boy Smith. The Umaga vs HHH fight wasn't the usual brawl we are accustomed to seeing either. Triple H seemed tired when he was attacking Umaga. It's understandable the WWE needs to build up all the matches for the Cyber Sunday PPV with some pre-event hype though.

The main event tag match was pretty decent also and Mr. Kennedy continues to show why he will be that next great heel for the WWE. My expectations for him are he will defeat Jeff Hardy in the coming months for the Intercontinental title, then go on to compete for a bigger title at Wrestlemania.
