Dawn Marie Psaltis is described as a big fan of the WWE when growing up. Her favorites included Bob Backlund, Jimmy Snuka and Roddy Piper. She originally made her living in the real estate business and was quite successful, working with a major consulting firm in New York. It was a former boyfriend getting signed by the Chicago Bears, that made Dawn decide to pursue a career in entertainment. She resigned from her retail firm, then went after careers in modeling and acting. When Dawn was signing modeling posters for a wrestling promoter at an event, she joked about working in pro wrestling. It didn't take long after this, that Dawn appeared at a wrestling show in New Jersey and acted as manager for Tony Atlas (ECW Star and WWE Hall of Famer). Shortly thereafter, Dawn started to manage wrestlers on an independent wrestling circuit. Dawn moved from here to ECW where she managed Lance Storm, and was involved in a feud with Chris Candido and Tammy Lynn Sytch. Dawn renamed herself "Tammy Lynn Bytch" to make fun of Candido and his manager.

It was from there that she moved into a deal with Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW), and managed Lance Storm & Justin Credible and helped them win the ECW Tag Team titles. Storm left ECW in 2000 for WCW, and Dawn eventually went on to be a color commentator for ECW on TNN. At the end of 2000, she announced she was going to manage Simon Diamond and Swinger. She managed this team until ECW went bankrupt in April 2001. Following ECW's crash, Dawn worked in independent wrestling circuits, hosted a syndicated wrestling radio show, and was a stock trader.

Dawn signed a deal with WWE in 2002, and made her debut on the May 30, 2002 episode of Smackdown. She was originally in the role of Mr. McMahon's legal assistant, and eventually feuded with Stacy Keibler. Once Keibler left for Raw, Dawn engaged in new feuds on Smackdown.

Perhaps the most famous WWE divas storyline that Dawn Marie was involved in was her feud with fellow WWE diva Torrie Wilson. During the feud, Dawn Marie began to have a romantic relationship with Torrie's father. As things got more serious, Dawn announced plans to marry Torrie's father. She convinced Torrie that if she'd meet her in a hotel room and do what Dawn wanted, she wouldn't go through with the wedding. Torrie met Dawn, but even after the fact, Dawn married Torrie's father. Things culminated with Dawn causing Torrie's father to die during vigorous sex. The feud lasted a bit beyond this, with Torrie eventually defeating Dawn in several matches including the first ever Stepmother vs. Stepdaughter match at Royal Rumble 2003.

After two different feuds with Torrie Wilson, Dawn entered another feud but this time against Miss Jackie. The feud stemmed from whether or not Dawn had an affair with Jackie's boyfriend, Charlie Haas. The two Smackdown WWE Divas, Jackie and Dawn fought at Armageddon with Haas serving as the special guest ref. Dawn won the match, and Haas confirmed the affair, then ended his relationship with both women. Dawn's last appearance with WWE came at ECW One Night Stand. She was released from her WWE contract in 2005 when she revealed she was pregnant. This resulted in Dawn filing a lawsuit against World Wrestling Entertainment. According to Wikipedia.org, in 2005 Dawn filed a dispute "with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, claiming that her contract had been wrongfully terminated by WWE"

As for Dawn's personal life she married her current husband, Matt, in June of 2005, and gave birth to a boy named Matthew. She settled her case with WWE in late 2007, and has founded "Wrestler's Rescue" a charity she sponsors in New Jersey which creates "awareness and helps fund health care needs for retired wrestlers".
