Thoughts on Raw's Anniversary

I'm not going to tear the Raw 15th Anniversary apart, because overall it did offer some very entertaining and surprising moments. However, two of the biggest names in the history of the show were absent from the celebration. While you can make exceptions for both, it's hard to understand why The Rock and John Cena were no shows. At least live from satellite interviews or some taped pieces with both guys giving their praise and comments to the long time running show. We know Cena is injured and Rock is Hollywood, but surely they could lend a minute or two to the shows that they helped make and that helped make them.

Despite these 2 notable absences, the WWE Raw 15th Anniversary did offer plenty of guests and the star power of guys like Hulk Hogan, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Mick Foley and Undertaker didn't hurt at all. It was basically a who's who of big stars and former legends. Million Dollar Man Ted Dibiase and IRS even made their appearances as did other notable characters like Bastion Booger, Doink the Clown, and Repo Man. Divas Sunny, Trish Stratus, Molly Holly and Lita also made their presence known. Perhaps the biggest surprise may have been RVD who made a brief appearance and wrestled to collect a fast win over Santino Marella. It's unlikely that RVD is back in WWE or ECW but would be great to see.

The various highlights and flashbacks fit well and definitely captured some memorable moments in Raw history. The final segment with Mankind, Undertaker and Steve Austin was great to see, as each delivered their signature move to chairman Vince McMahon. However, you'd have to believe it would have brought the house down if The Rock made his appearance and layed the smackdown on Raw.

Here's to 15 more years of a great WWE show on the USA Network, Monday Night Raw.

Anonymous, Sunny was on the show, she was part of the opening McMahon Family Portrait, when HHH introduced her as one of Vince's former love interests.
