The Backlash Fantastic 4?

After this past week's Raw episode, the main event WWE title match for Backlash has been set. It started off as a one-on-one match between JBL and Randy Orton, as scheduled by Raw GM William Regal. Triple H interrupted asking for his spot in a WWE title match, since Orton didn't technically beat him at Wrestlemania 24. After winning a 2 on 1 handicap against JBL and Orton on Raw, Triple H was added to the Backlash match. Make it a Triple Threat. But there was one more wrestler looking to get involved who had not yet been heard from. John Cena made his case, then won his 2 on 1 handicap against Triple H and JBL. Cena's win came thanks to Orton. In a way so did Triple H's, although the Game outsmarted his two arguing opponents during the match, as he shoved them into each other then hit the Pedigree for a pin. We still don't get to see a 1 on 1 bout between Triple H, which makes you wonder if WWE is saving this for a big PPV such as Summerslam. Another recommendation to give fans more bang for their buck with the Backlash PPV, make the 4 man match a Hell in the Cell.

Many fans are also probably wondering why was JBL even included in this Fatal 4 match? I think the answer is due to the fact that the other likely contender is suspended from WWE right now. Jeff Hardy violated WWE policy, lost his IC title, and lost his chance to be in a match at Wrestlemania. He may even have been carrying the MITB briefcase right now. Instead, JBL gets the spot because there aren't too many other competitors on Raw who fit into the title picture. Shawn Michaels has a beef with Batista. Mr. Kennedy has simply been MIA and not really on any sort of push lately. Umaga lost a Brand Superiority match, even though he is still squashing competitors on Raw like Val Venis. JBL's coming off a victory over Finlay at Mania. This may have been a last minute decision by WWE to put him in Hardy's Fatal Fourway spot. No matter what the reason, it's doubtful that we see JBL winning the WWE title right now.

It's also tough to say if Jeff Hardy will be thrust back into that title picture when he returns, because most likely he'll still be in the doghouse. Even though Jeff is a perennial fan-favorite, he may have to "climb the ladder" so to speak, in order to regain his title contender status.

Do you think JBL is a good choice for the Fatal Fourway, or would you have another wrestler in his spot? Feel free to leave comments on the match, the contenders and your predictions...Will Orton retain the WWE title, yet again?

I like the hell in the cell idea but if financially they cant do that then they can have an elimination fatal four way. i always thought a match like that would be exciting. And for my opinion about the four in it i think they wanted to have 2 faces and two heels competing in it. I would of rather seen Mr. Kennedy in it who is a better heel and wrestler then the out-of-shape JBL. but thats just me talking
