New Champion Elijah Burke
While he didn't win the 24 Man Battle Royal, ECW Superstar Elijah Burke has won the 2008 Smackdown vs. Raw Tournament held by THQ. The tournament featured 16 stars (wrestlers & divas) from Raw, Smackdown, ECW facing off in single elimination rounds on the video game, until 1 winner remained. Burke is now the back-to-back champion of this tournament as he also won last year.
Burke beat his fellow ECW wrestler, Kofi Kingston to win the finals of the tourney. The Sun UK has a story reporting on that as well as a video game champ, Darren Lavocah from the UK, who won a global online tournament. Darren went to a national final in Scotland to take the win, putting him into the global finals.
As his prize, Darren got a VIP night out at Wrestlemania XXIV last Sunday in Orlando, and met the WWE gaming champ, Elijah Burke. There's no word yet if Vince McMahon will be adding a new "WWE Video Game" belt any time soon for Burke to wear.
