Santino Arrested, Benoit Calls Released

WWE Superstar and former Intercontinental champion Santino Marella was arrested early Thursday morning in Tampa, Florida for a DUI.

According to ProWrestlingInsider & WWE.com:

WWE Superstar Santino Marella was arrested and charged with a DUI after being pulled over a little before 3 a.m. Thursday, May 1, in Tampa, Fla., as reported on ProWrestling.net. Marella’s blood alcohol level was around 0.06, below the legal limit of 0.08. He was held on $500 bond.

No word on any suspension yet for the WWE superstar but it could be coming soon.

Chris Benoit Phone Calls

In other news, WSBTV in Atlanta has obtained newly released phone messages from the Benoit family home around the time of the tragedy in June 2007. According to WSBTV.com the messages involve Chris Benoit, his son, his wife Nancy's father, a co-worker and a friend of the family's. The messages were reviewed by Channel 2 of WSBTV's Tom Regan, and are now publicly released. Included messages were:

“Hi honey. Hi Dan-Dan. Sorry I missed you. I’ll try you on your cell phone. Love you. Bye,” is one of the endearing messages from a father to his wife and son.

It’s one of the many telephone messages, some disturbing, that police found in Benoit’s home following the murder-suicide last June.

“Hey Chris, it’s Anne from the office. Just trying to get in touch with you. It’s Sunday evening, I think about 7 p.m. So we’re hoping everything is OK. Call me on my cell phone,” said one message.
