WWE Superstars Recap 02.11.10

WWE Superstars Recap 02.11.10:

After the pyro went off, Michael Cole was there to welcome fans to the show. In tonight's main event, Smackdown's JTG goes up against Dolph Ziggler. First up, a Raw match as Santino Marella came out from backstage. They cut to footage from weeks ago, when Swagger attacked Marella from behind as Santino was headed to the ring. Santino got on the mic prior to tonight's match saying that Swagger took him out of the 2010 Royal Rumble match, so he would teach Swagger a lesson so good he'd call him "professore."

Santino Marella vs. Jack Swagger

Early on, Swagger gained the advantage after knocking down Santino, so he started doing pushups to taunt him and the crowd. Moments later, Santino knocked Swagger outside of the ring and started to do pushups to return the taunt. Swagger got back in the ring, and Santino had momentum as he hit a drop toe hold and several other strikes. Swagger soon leveled him as he came from against the ropes though, and took over again.

Swagger seemed to be dominating as he was bashing Santino from corner to corner. Santino began to withstand the hits and got himself riled up. Swagger kept striking him but Santino got angry and started to punch back. He did a split to duck Swagger as he came from against the ropes, then threw him with a hip toss. Santino prepared his Cobra one arm strike, but Swagger ducked that and leveled Santino with a clothesline. From there, Swagger set up the Gutwrench Powerbomb for the win.

Winner: Jack Swagger wins via pinfall over Santino Marella.

Time for "Ask the Divas" with today's questions "What's a good gift for Valentine's day for a guy?" and "If you had a celebrity Valentine who would it be?" Featured WWE divas included Alicia Fox, Katie Lea, Maria, Natalya and Beth Phoenix.

Christian vs. Zack Ryder

Ryder arrived out to the ring with girlfriend Rosa Mendes. Josh Matthews and Byron Saxton were shown on camera as they began to discuss that this would be the last ECW match seen on WWE Superstars.

Early on, Ryder shoved Christian against the corner, so Christian returned the favor by slapping him in the face. From there it was a trip against the corner for Ryder face first, as Christian went for the schoolboy pin. Christian gained momentum as he knocked Ryder onto the apron, then ran across the ring to dropkick him off. Christian prepared for a move off the corner, but Rosa got in the way and the duo moved out of the way. Christian left the ring to chase Ryder up the ring and grab him. Unfortunately, as they got back on the apron, Ryder DDT'd Christian onto the side of the ring, then attacked. Superstars went to a break from there.

As the show returned, Ryder had Christian down in the chinlock. Ryder continued to control things with a legdrop followed by a nearfall. Christian had a brief recovery, going for a Sunset Flip pin off the corner, but Ryder rolled through then grabbed Christian's legs to slingshot him into the bottom rope. Christian soon recovered though and began to punch away at Ryder. He knocked Zack against the bottom rope, then stood on him using the top rope for leverage, before jumping over the top rope and punching Ryder in the face.

In the closing moments, Ryder had a Rough Ryder leg lariat for a near fall, as well as a counter on the Killswitch for a near fall. Christian was able to recover though and hit a flying forearm uppercut from the corner. From there, he set up the Killswitch and hit it for the win.

Winner: Christian wins via pinfall over Zack Ryder.

They rolled footage of the first inductee for WWE's 2010 Hall of Fame Class, the Million Dollar Man, Ted Dibiase. Dibiase created his own belt during his career called "The Million Dollar Belt". Various segments were shown with Dibiase tossing his money around, or offering fans money for various tasks. In one, Dibiase offered a young boy a bunch of money to dribble a basketball 15 times. The boy got up to 13, and Dibiase kicked the ball away. His legacy continues now as his son Ted Dibiase Jr. wrestles for Raw. Dibiase will be inducted March 27th in Phoenix, just one night before Wrestlemania 26.

After the "WWE Did You Know?" factoid, a video was shown featuring John Cena, with "Hustle, Loyalty and Respect" all defined on screen as clips were shown of Cena.

Todd Grisham and Matt Striker were now on hand to commentate for Smackdown. First they introduced the Raw Rebound. It covered what happened on Raw involving John Cena, Vince McMahon and Bret Hart. Cena was able to incite Vince enough to accept a Wrestlemania 26 match against Bret Hart. Soon after, Cena left and Bret Hart snuck into the ring to knock down the WWE Chairman. Vince escaped the ring with the help of security, then told Bret he would not get a Wrestlemania 26 match because "Bret deserved to be screwed". The Hitman snapped after that and began to destroy lighting and electrical equipment near the ramp as well as the announcers' table.

Matt Striker announced that "Rise Up" by Cypress Hill is the 2010 Elimination Chamber PPV theme song. He and Grisham discussed the PPV matches including the two Chamber matches. For Raw it's Sheamus defending against Cena, HHH, Orton, Dibiase and Kofi Kingston. For Smackdown it's Undertaker defending against R-Truth, John Morrison, Rey Mysterio, CM Punk and Chris Jericho.

Dolph Ziggler was introduced for the main event Smackdown match as Superstars went to a commercial break.

JTG vs. Dolph Ziggler

After the final commercial break, Dolph Ziggler was in control of the match with a neck hold to ground JTG. During the break, Ziggler hit a neckbreaker outside the ring to gain the upperhand. Ziggler hit a series of elbow drops and had a near fall as he maintained control of the match. He re-applied a headlock down on the mat on JTG. After a legdrop on the back of JTG's head, Ziggler tried for another fall.

Later in the match, JTG got to his feet during a neck hold from Ziggler. He began to punch back, and fell to the corner where Ziggler ran at him. JTG moved away, then hit a box cutter to slam Ziggler against his knee. Ziggler was up first though. He and JTG started to punch back and forth, with JTG finally ducking a punch to gain momentum. He hit a shoulder tackle off the ropes then got riled up moments later.

JTG ran up on Ziggler in the corner then hit the Money Shot facebuster to the mat for a near fall. He went for a move with Ziggler landing over JTG on his feet and rolling up JTG with his tights for a near fall. JTG got a near fall of his own moments later, but Ziggler got a leg on the ropes. JTG tried to run at Ziggler as he was recovering in the corner, but Ziggler moved away then hit the Zig Zag to win it.

Winner: Dolph Ziggler wins via pinfall over JTG.
