Raw Results 02/07/11


Raw Results from Milwaukee, WI:

Michael Cole welcomed fans to the Bradley Center. He was joined by the #1 Contender for the WWE Championship, Jerry "The King" Lawler. Justin Roberts introduced the WWE Chairman, Mr. McMahon. Cole said it's been about a year since he was seen.

Vince congratulated the local fans on their Superbowl win, before talking about the event that supercedes the Superbowl, Wrestlemania. Vince said next week he will introduce the man who is the extraordinary host of Wrestlemania. Vince finished up his speech right before Randy Orton's music came on. Orton arrived out from backstage nodded at McMahon then headed to the ring. Cole and Lawler reviewed the footage of Orton punt kicking Husky Harris of Nexus last week.

Orton got the mic to speak on the recent events involving CM Punk. Orton told Punk he's just getting started with him. As Orton was continuing, Punk's music came on and he arrived out to the ramp. Punk sat down on the ramp then revealed why he cost him the championship at the Royal Rumble. He had footage shown from Unforgiven PPV 2008 when Punk was being interviewed backstage. Legacy attacked Punk backstage with Orton delivering a huge knee to Punk's head to take him out prior to the PPV. That resulted in Punk having to forfeit his championship at the event.

Punk said he's waited a while to get his revenge. Punk said he's right and Orton is wrong, and as long as they're on the same show, he'll make sure Orton is never WWE champion again. Punk said he's not waiting until Elimination Chamber, he's going to eliminate Orton now. Otunga, McGillicutty and Mason Ryan came out from backstage. All 4 Nexus members walked down to the ring. Orton fought off Otunga and McGillicutty, but Mason Ryan leveled him with a clothesline. They had him restrained as Punk got in the ring but Orton broke free and attacked Punk. They ganged up on him again and put Orton's arms into the ropes.

Punk walked up and grabbed Orton by the face to say something to him. Orton managed to kick Punk in the face. He visibly had a bloody nose as Nexus pounded on him. Things ended as they placed Orton on Punk's shoulders for the GTS.




Raw returned with the trailer for Triple H in "The Chaperone." The commentators reviewed what just happened involving Orton, Nexus and CM Punk. They showed Punk's bloody nose again. Cole said an email arrived during commercial. They showed the clip where Cole said tonight every member of Nexus will participate in matches against members of the Raw Elimination Chamber match, ending with Punk against Cena.

R-Truth vs. Mason Ryan

Cole kept ranting about how Truth got the name of the city wrong because he said "Green Bay what's up?" instead of "Milwaukee." The fans booed Truth and even started up a Mil-waukee chant. Truth seemed to tweak his knee during the match, giving Ryan the advantage as he slammed Truth against the ropes. Truth was seated on the corner late in the match, but Ryan yanked his leg to pull him off. Ryan wrapped Truth's injured leg around the back of his head to make Truth tap out.

The ref demanded that Ryan break the hold, but he wouldn't. Ryan finally left the ring but grabbed a chair to put in the ring. The ref pulled it away from him but Ryan got in the ring and applied the leg submission to Truth, standing up with Truth wrapped around his head. The referee reversed the decision to give R-Truth the win by DQ.

Winner: R-Truth wins due to disqualification of Mason Ryan.




When Raw returned, Punk was yelling at Mason Ryan "what was that? you didn't even win the match!" He then stopped for a moment and patted Ryan on the chest smirking as he said "well done, well done." Punk turned and told Otunga and McGillicutty he doesn't care about wins tonight. He told them to injur their opponents for the Elimination Chamber. Ryan said 2 down, 3 to go. Otunga asked Punk if he's sure he wants him to be the one to take out Sheamus. Punk said don't worry, he's got a plan, Otunga just needs to have a little faith.

Tamina, Gail Kim & Eve Torres vs. Melina & Bella Twins

Natalya joined King and Cole for commentary on the match. Natalya gets a rematch against Eve for the title next week. Natalya tried to insult Cole with a Just for Men Hair Care joke, with Cole saying great way to promote the sponsor.

Eve got the upperhand on Melina hitting a standing Moonsault. All of the divas got involved in the match with Tamina and Gail taking out the Bellas. Melina went to finish off Eve, but Eve countered to hit a swinging neckbreaker for the win.

Winners: Eve, Tamina & Gail Kim win via pinfall over Melina & The Bella Twins.

A new "2/21/11" promo aired this time showing the bottom boots area of the figure as they walked in through the door of the old cabin-style home. A Johnny Cash song played out on the video.




When Raw returned, they showed a few still images of Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers with a WWE Championship belt and the Super Bowl trophy.

Cole and King talked about the ucpoming Elimination Chamber match. It is part of the Road to Wrestlemania 27. They showed highlights of prior Chambers involving Edge, Triple H, Show, Cena, Orton and Jericho.

John Morrison vs. Michael McGillicutty

Morrison blasted McGill with repeated clotheslines and then a spin kick before slamming him face first into the corner. Morrison did his flash kick from off the ropes to put McGill down on the mat. From there, he measured him then did the Starship Pain off the corner for the big win. Cole said so much for Punk's plans.

As Morrison was heading up the ramp, CM Punk arrived out and sprayed Morrison in the face with some sort of spray. Morrison was blinded by it and Punk did a roundhouse kick to knock him down. Morrison was coughing and holding his head on the ramp as the refs rushed out to check on him. Punk smiled as he admired his work.

Winner: John Morrison wins via pinfall over Michael McGillicutty.




They showed a replay of how Lawler won last week's Raw Rumble Match. Sheamus went for the Brogh Kick at Lawler near the ropes. Lawler moved aside, so Cena pulled the ropes down for Sheamus to fall out of the ring.

The Miz arrived out from backstage with Alex Riley. Miz was in wrestling gear while Riley was in a fancy suit carrying the MITB case. Miz was in the ring with a mic in hand and started to taunt Lawler a bit. He said he was pulling for Lawler to win the Raw Rumble, then asked Lawler to step into the ring with him. Miz asked Riley to leave the ring, then presented the new #1 contender for the WWE Championship, Jerry "The King" Lawler.

Miz said he could beat any of the competitors in the Raw Rumble, but he was rooting for Lawler because they are mirror images of each other. Miz talked about how Lawler had one of the biggest mouths in history, and could incite riots with his mouth. Miz said he has patterned his career after Lawler's in many ways.

Lawler told Miz they both have big mouths, but he backs what he says up. He said if Miz thinks he's a modern day Lawler, he doesn't know him that well. Lawler said he's an original and didn't pattern himself after anyone. Miz said Lawler's an original cheap shot artist. Miz showed footage of Lawler punching Ted Dibiase down just after Maryse had slapped him.

Lawler said it's been his lifelong dream for 40 years in sports entertainment to compete at Wrestlemania as the WWE Champion. Miz said after the match in two weeks he'll say "I'm the Miz and I'm -" Lawler interrupted with "Aawful!" then lead the crowd in a chant. Miz went for a shot at Lawler, but Lawler ducked him and knocked Miz down.

Riley rushed in to try to help, but Lawler managed to toss Riley out of the ring. Dibiase rushed in to hammer away on Lawler. Miz came over to help out. Daniel Bryan rushed in for a save, ultimately setting up a tag team match by the Raw GM.

Daniel Bryan & Jerry Lawler vs. Ted Dibiase & The Miz

Alex Riley joined Cole for commentary as he caught his breath. Cole and Riley kept talking trash about Bryan and Lawler. Lawler got hammered down outside the ring before a commercial break. After Raw returned, Maryse was hanging out at ringside near the commentators table.

Miz hit his running clothesline on Miz in the corner as Riley made jokes about Lawler's age. Dibiase took control on Bryan with a huge dropkick to the back. Cole ranted on about Lawler being all about his own ego.

The action broke down with everyone in the ring. Bryan knocked Miz to the outside then hit a running suicide dive. Dibiase missed on a running charge on Lawler in the corner, hitting shoulder first. Lawler climbed the corner, lowered his trunk straps and then dove off the corner to hit a driving punch on Dibiase for the win.

Riley said in two weeks Lawler's luck will have run out. Lawler glared at Miz who was down on the outside against the crowd barrier.

Winners: Jerry Lawler & Daniel Bryan win via pinfall over Ted Dibiase & The Miz.




Sheamus was on his way to the ring when Josh Matthews rushed down the ramp to interview him. He asked for his thoughts on the comments relayed to him by Mark Henry. Matthews said it was relayed to him that Sheamus should be replaced by Mark Henry in the Elimination Chamber. Sheamus asked if Mark Henry can even fit in the Chamber or one of those pods? Sheamus said Henry should shut his mouth or he'll shut it for him.

David Otunga vs. Sheamus

Otunga made his way to the ring, but before he could get in the ring. Mark Henry's music hit. Henry rushed to the ring and got on the apron to hammer away at Sheamus. He continued beating on Sheamus in the ring. Sheamus battled back a bit, but Henry overpowered him and kept hitting away. Sheamus eventually got a boot in Henry's face in the corner, then leveled him. Otunga started to climb the corner, with Sheamus spying him and knocking Otunga off. Henry made a comeback and hit World's Strongest Slam to put Sheamus down. Henry picked up Sheamus for a second slam to do further damage. Henry yelled at Sheamus "go talk that trash to somebody else!"

Henry left with his theme music playing. Otunga got into the ring and raished his arm up to salute Nexus. Backstage, Punk, McGillicutty and Ryan smiled as they watched.

Winner: No contest, match never officially started.

All of a sudden, Alberto Del Rio's theme music came on. Del Rio came out in a fancy classic car. Ricardo Rodriguez did the Spanish intro. Del Rio posed on the ramp right before a commercial break.




Del Rio was talking in the ring as Raw returned. He said Santino Marella actually thought he could eliminated him from the Rumble. He said it was his destiny to win the Rumble and go on to be next World Heavyweight Champion at Wrestlemania. Just then, Santino's music hit and Santin arrived to the ring. He punched away at Del Rio multiple times. Del Rio turned the tables, but Santino tossed Del Rio out over the top rope. Del Rio recovered with Rodriguez nearby.

Santino Marella vs. Alberto Del Rio

Del Rio missed on a jump near the ropes on Santino, sliding out through the ropes. However, as Santino tried to get back in, Del Rio took control, tossing Marella into the corner.

Later in the match, Del Rio missed on the kick on Santino in the corner. Santino did his breakdance drop to the mat and then the hip toss on Del Rio. He set up the Cobra and went for it, but Del Rio avoided it, grabbed Santino's arm and dropped down to punish the left arm. Del Rio followed up by locking the Cross Armbreaker on for the win.

Winner: Alberto Del Rio wins due to submission over Santino Marella.

Cole reviewed the previous Chamber competitors getting roughed up by Nexus and Punk. They showed John Cena walking backstage on his way out for the main event match. Cole said he's the final victim for Punk's plan.




Friday night, Edge will defend the World Championship against Dolph Ziggler on Smackdown with Vickie Guerrero as special guest refere.

Vickie Guerrero arrived out from backstage in a strange khaki outfit with Dolph Ziggler on her arm. Vickie said Dolph won't enter the Chamber as the challenger, but instead as the World Champion. She said this Friday on Smackdown Dolph Ziggler will beat Edge in a match. Just then, John Cena's music came on and Cena arrived out to interrupt the speech.

Cena said this is more offensive than Christina Aguilera butchering the National Anthem. Cena said he is out there with an apology from R-Truth. Cena said Truth may have celebrated a bit too hard last night after Green Bay won. Cena got the Milwaukee crowd going then started talking about the last time they were all in the ring together. He started bringing up the makeout session he had with Vickie.

Vickie yanked the mic away and started doing her "Excuse Me!" bit more. She told Cena this is not how to show respect to the active GM of Smackdown or a future World Champion. She said if they don't get the respect that they deserve, they're going to leave. Cena told the crowd to make some noise and they'll leave. Vickie kept screaming they deserve respect. Cena led the fans in a "Go Pack Go!" chant to dismiss Ziggler and Guerrero from the arena.

Cena talked about how Nexus has handicapped each Chamber participant one-by-one. Cena said he understands their plan. Cena said Punk will get his when they face off next.



John Cena vs. CM Punk

During the match, Punk had Cena up for the GTS. Cena slipped off and was able to ram Punk into the corner. He kept punching Punk in the back, then punched Punk in the gut. The ref warned Cena if he didn't stop with all the punches he was going to get DQ'd. Cena shrugged at that warning, walked up and hit a low blow on Punk. The ref called for the bell as Punk rolled to the outside holding his groin in pain.

Cena backed up in the ring and signaled for Nexus to bring it. McGillicutty and Otunga rushed down and got in the ring. Mason Ryan checked Punk out at ringside. Cena backed up near the ropes, where Jerry Lawler handed him a steel chair. Cena was able to use the chair to bash down on McGill and Otunga, clearing them out of the ring. Cena stayed in the ring with the chair as Ryan held Punk at the bottom of the ramp staring at Cena.

Cole called it a valiant stand by John Cena. Lawler said Cena will be in the Elimination Chamber. Cole asked if it's too little too late for Cena though. Raw ended with Cena holding the chair up with a menacing look.

Winner: CM Punk wins due to disqualification against John Cena.
