WWE NXT Results 03/29/11

NXT Results from Chicago, IL:

Matt Striker served as host with Maryse not there this week (she supported Chris Jericho in LA for DWTS). First up was a rookie arm wrestling challenge.

Darren Young defeated Byron Saxton, then Conor O'Brian defeated Lucky Cannon due to a DQ for his heel tactics. Jacob Novak lost to Titus O'Neil. Titus received a bye and faced the winner of Conor O'Brian vs Darren Young. The finals saw Titus beat O'Brian and receive four redemption points. Titus now leads all rookies with 9 total points while Darren Young has 7.

They had a promo video package where Darren Young talked about not getting to showcase himself enough on NXT season 1, due to being with CM Punk as his mentor.

They showed the video from Raw last night featuring the Triple H and Undertaker promo for Wrestlemania 27.

They talked about the six person mixed gender tag match for Wrestlemania 27 and then showed video footage of when Snooki was special guest on Raw, setting up the match.

Todd Grisham discussed Wrestlemania week which will be going on Wednesday through Sunday. They introduced the Raw Rebound featuring coverage of the Rock vs Cena feud which has been going on. The conclusion featured Cena hitting the Attitude Adjustment on The Rock.

Todd Grisham introduced footage from last night's Raw involving Undertaker, Triple H and Shawn Michaels to set up the Wrestlemania 27 match.

After over 30 minutes of Wrestlemania 27 hype and breaks, it's time for the first match of the night on NXT Season 5.

Conor O'Brian, Titus O'Neil & Byron Saxton vs. Lucky Cannon, Darren Young & Jacob Novak

The pros watched from up on stage as the rookies competed in the ring.

The match saw the heels using cheap tactics on Byron Saxton to keep him away from a tag. Saxton finally made a hot tag to Titus O'Neill who came in to clean house. Everyone got involved in the match eventually. Titus O'Neil was legal against Jacob Novak. Titus hit the sit-out slam on Novak for the big pinfall win. Hornswoggle was excited up on stage over the win. Titus, Saxton and O'Brian celebrated in ring as Grisham reminded fans they'll see everyone at Wrestlemania 27 Sunday.

Winners: Titus O'Neil's team defeated Lucky Cannon's team via pinfall.
