Raw Results 03/21/11
Here's tonight's abbreviated results for WWE Raw. Tonight's episode was held in Pittsburgh, PA, with just under two weeks until Wrestlemania 27.
The early part of the show saw Michael Cole come out dressed as Jim Ross in a mocking costume. He slammed the cowboy hat down in front of Jerry Lawler, who looked upset after last week's incidents. Cole went into his Cole Miner box for safety from Lawler.
Triple H came out to talk about his match against Taker at WM27. Ted Dibiase interrupted and got a beatdown from HHH. It ended with HHH hitting a Pedigree on Dibiase on the announcer's table.
Sheamus defeated Evan Bourne in a very quick match, using the Brogh Kick to win by pinfall. Post-match, Daniel Bryan came out and said he'll take his rematch against Sheamus at Wrestlemania 27.
Eve defeated Maryse in a non-title match by pinfall using a neckbreaker finisher. Michael Cole got involved standing up in his box to demand they end the match, causing Eve to rush over and try to get to him in the sealed clear box.
Justin Gabriel and Heath Slater of The Corre defeated Santino and Kozlov afer Barrett distracted Kozlov late in the match. Slater hit his finisher then Gabriel hit the 450 Splash. Post-match, Corre started attacking Santino/Kozlov but Big Show and Kane rushed to the ring for a save.
John Cena appeared via satellite to address The Rock and The Miz. He noted The Rock has taken a lot of his focus away lately, but that he vows to defeat Miz at Wrestlemania.
Cole did an in-ring segment to trash talk Jerry Lawler's family as a "bunch of losers." Lawler tried to go after Cole, but Jack Swagger was outside the ring to attack. He ultimately got Lawler in the Ankle lock and then Cole did the same thing.
Dolph Ziggler went against John Morrison. Vickie, LayCool and Trish Stratus were all ringside. It eventually turned into an all ot brawl though. The Raw GM turned it into an intergender mixed tag match with Dolph, Vickie & LayCool against JMo and Trish. Team Vickie won it after Ziggler hit Zig Zag on Morrison, then tagged in Vickie to pin Morrison for the win.
They had a new hype video for the Taker vs Triple H match at Wrestlemania 27. In this video, John Cena, Shawn Michaels, Big Show, Chris Jericho and Steve Austin were among those giving their comments. Randy Orton said he'll be watching this one for sure. Jericho said this match is Wrestlemania.
Rey Mysterio took on Randy Orton in an interbrand match between Smackdown and Raw stars. During the match, CM Punk appeared on the Titantron near Orton's tour bus in the parking area. He said it's a nice tour bus and he wants to meet Orton's wife inside. Orton rushed to the back to save his wife, but ended up getting hit by a zapper. Orton's fake wife came out from the bus and screamed with Punk yelling for her to get lost. Punk said Orton is going to pay for what he did to Nexus. After Punk left the scene, Orton's fake wife came out to check on him, then screamed for some help. Mysterio apparently won the match by countout.
In the final segment of the night, Alex Riley was back to say he was fired as Miz's apprentice but hired on as VP of corporate communications. He introduced Miz who came out to play up his legendary status, bringing up athletes or Muhammad Ali or Michael Jordan.
During Miz's in-ring speech, John Cena appeared on the Titantron. It turned out Cena wasn't at home but in the Pittsburgh Penguins locker room. He came walking out to the arena and down to the ring. Alex Riley tried to toss the podium in the ring at Cena over the ropes. Cena dodged it and went after Riley/Miz.
Eventually, Miz and Riley got out of the ring, but Riley went back after Cena. He ended up getting put into the STF with Cena keeping it locked. Miz acted like he might get in the ring to help Riley, but then took off up the ramp. A bunch of refs had to come to the ring to get Cena to release his second STF on Riley. Cena posed for the crowd as Raw went off the air.
