WWE Death Stunt Notes
Some interesting notes/tidbits regarding WWE/Vince McMahon's death stunt:
1) A Connecticut Radio station, Kiss 95.7, actually reported the death of Vince McMahon on its "Hollywood Report" segment. The segement is gossip which talks about what is going on in Hollywood. It was no joke either, but serious reporting.
From pwinsider.com (Ken Curige):
"This morning the segment reported the following, "In a scary moment, on live TV last night, Vince McMahon, the President of Stamford based WWE was killed when his limousine exploded on live TV. I would assume an investigation is in the works, but we'd like to send our condolences to his family and friends.""
2)Regarding the flying of the WWE Flag at half mast outside of WWE Headquarters in Stamford, CT, it has been noted that the American Flag was not flown half mast, because that is a federal crime to falsely do.
3) Speculation on who was behind the limo explosion plot, from www.thesun.co.uk:
"The person responsible for the explosion has to be an active member of the WWE, ruling out non-federation people like Donald Trump or popular legends like Dusty Rhodes.
Even the three obvious names, Steve Austin, Hulk Hogan and Bret Hart, are too removed and/or contemptuous of Vince to do the storyline.
A current superstar with a storyline grudge – notably Bobby Lashley but also John Cena, Edge, D-Generation X and almost the entire roster – could well end up as the culprit.
However blowing up a limo would be considered by grappling fans as ‘the pussy’s way out’, any major babyface star would have beaten up Vince with their bare hands rather than relying on the techniques of a terrorist.
That leaves, in our minds, the McMahon family as the most likely suspects."
4)The Times Leader, a Wilkes Barre PA newspaper and news site has received an abundance of calls from concerned people and fans about Vince McMahon. They continue to assure people that this was a stunt and storyline and not real. From timesleader.com:
"Despite articles on the Web site that firefighters and federal agents are investigating, workers at the Luzerne County 911 Center confirmed that it was “a stunt” and that no emergency vehicles were called to the arena on Monday night.
“The ‘federal agent’ (referenced on the Web site) is definitely not the FBI,” said Jerri Williams, a special agent spokeswoman with the FBI’s Philadelphia office. “We have not been made aware of any car bombings. … We would definitely have been informed.”"
5)WWE upper management is happy with the publicity this latest event/story is receiving. From www.24wrestling.com:
"According to reports, many within WWE upper management were said to be ecstatic about the coverage the "expoding limo" Vince McMahon angle has gotten so far. The hope within WWE was that the angle would get mainstream attention and are happy with the coverage they have gotten so far. It should also be noted that WWE.com had one of its best days ever in terms of website traffic (we also saw a huge boost in audience here on the site over the last two days as well)."

The press its getting is crazy. not a big fan of the angle..maybe i just gotta see how its played out from now on.
I hope they use this storyline well.
If used right it can be something actually good to watch.
Hopefully they don’t ruin it.
