Feds Request WWE Information
The feds will continue the further investigation and probe into the WWE and how it may have played a part in Chris Benoit's mindstate prior to the heinous double murder/suicide he committed. The feds may be cracking down in a similar way as they have on professional baseball.
According to Associated Press:
(Washington-AP)_Federal officials say they want Stamford-based World Wrestling Entertainment to turn over any information it has on steroid use and drug abuse in professional wrestling.
A House committee made the request today.
It comes in the wakes of the murder-suicide deaths of wrestler Chris Benoit and his family.
The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee says it wants a response from the WWE by August 24th.
Benoit killed his wife, Nancy, and their 7-year-old son in their Atlanta home last month.
Prescription steroids were found in the home, prompting questions about whether the drugs played a role in the killings.
Congress has been investigating steroid use in sports for years.
