Jackass Stars Flee from WWE

TMZ.com and nationalledger.com have reported that the stars of the MTV show "Jackass" have backed out on their scheduled appearances to be on WWE shows.

From nationalledger.com:

The Chris Benoit killings have reportedly cost the WWE in the television ratings and it is so bad that even the star of "Jackass" have now reportedly bailed on their commitments.  The story is a sad one, and after weeks of talking it has finally been eclipsed by the NBA game-fixing scandal allegations and the NFL's Michael Vick and his legal troubles involving illegal dog-fighting.

TMZ reports: Even the jackasses in "Jackass" are staying away from the WWE. A planned match-up between "Jackass" and WWE wrestlers at the WWE's pay-per-view "Summerslam" event has been knocked out.

Following the recent tragedy of WWE wrestler Chris Benoit and his family, it seems the "Jackass" crew didn't want to risk getting in the ring with the WWE, or was it just the taint? Bam Margera was first to bow out with an injury. Then "Jackass" ringmaster and alleged-Jessica Simpson dater Johnny Knoxville backed out, too.

Maybe they're not as dumb as they seem!  Cue the rep™: Attempts to reach the "Jackasses" for comment were unsuccessful.
