Million Dollar McMahon & WWE Draft

Monday Night Raw featured the WWE chairman back just a week after the firing of King William Regal, also GM of Raw. Vince McMahon kicked off the show stating he believes the fans deserve much more appreciation after what's happened in recent weeks. Ultimately, Vince said that appreciation will come via "cash money", something everyone can relate to. Vince dropped the bombshell announcement that he will be giving away not a mere prize of $1,000 or even $100,000. Instead Vince claims each week on Raw a sum of $1 million is going to be awarded. Gutsy move, but is it for real? And if so, will it be dumped on the audience or given to 1 lucky fan, or someone from the roster? Should be interesting, but it could definitely help ratings and even attendance for Raw, which already does a good job to sell out most arenas.

Vince also mentioned the upcoming special 3 hour Raw for the draft. June 23 will mark the sixth ever WWE draft, where superstars from ECW, Smackdown and Raw will be mixed between the rosters. This year's draft is held in Shawn Michaels' hometown of San Antonio, Texas. Looking back at last year's draft, it seems as if all of the big names to make moves to new shows are gone. Bobby Lashley, King Booker, the Boogeyman, Torrie Wilson are just a handful who now seem to be done with the WWE. Also of note, the wrestlers themselves have no clue which roster they will be drafted to until the actual announcement is made. In the past various wrestlers were upset and insulted by their draft positions. It will be interesting to see who ends up where this year, although it seems as if the shows merge wrestlers often enough that everyone's already part of each show.
