Raw Preview 05.26.08
Tonight's Monday Night Raw not only celebrates Memorial Day, but comes less than a week prior to the One Night Stand Pay-Per-View. There's several ongoing feuds and grudges on Raw leading to the big event, so expect it to be explosive. Most importantly is the WWE title match between Triple H and Randy Orton, which will be fought under Last Man Standing rules. Will either superstar gain the upperhand on tonight's episode of Raw?
Last week also saw a shocking move when the current King and General Manager of Raw, William Regal, was fired. The move came after Regal tried to defeat Mr. Kennedy in a "Loser Gets Fired" match. With Regal gone there's a vacancy in the GM position. Who will step up to the job, and is this the last we have seen of William Regal on Raw?
Tonight will also mark an interesting grudge match between Santino Marella and Cousin Sal, from the Jimmy Kimmel Show on ABC. On the late night show, Counsin Sal was celebrating his birthday with Roddy Piper at Hooters. Santino decided to drop by to try to spoil the fun and insult the birthday boy. Things ended with Santino getting cake smashed in his face and then beat up on the floor by Sal. Santino invited Sal onto a fake edition of "Piper's Pit" last week to threaten Sal into apologizing. However, things backfired on Santino when the real Roddy Piper showed up in the ring. Once again, Santino had cake on his face thanks to Sal and Piper. But this time, Santino challenged Sal to an in-ring fight to settle the feud. Will Sal be ready for the fight? Will Roddy Piper be on hand to root him on?
There's also several other Raw superstars looking to their One Night Stand contests. JBL will face John Cena in a First Blood Match. Jeff Hardy and Umaga will tangle in a Falls Count Anywhere match. And Raw's Shawn Michaels meets the Animal Batista in a Stretcher match. How will these superstars prepare for their upcoming matches and who will gain momentum on tonight's show?
