Smackdown Preview 03.27.09
Tonight's Smackdown will feature the Heartbreak Kid, Shawn Michaels, making a visit to Smackdown. During his visit, Michaels intends to pay a "very special tribute" to his upcoming Wrestlemania 25 opponent, The Undertaker. On Raw this past week, Undertaker made his way to the ring and began to call out Michaels for what he did the week before, Superkicking Undertaker at the top of the ramp. Undertaker made claims that Shawn is blinded by arrogance thinking he can defeat the Deadman. Just then, Michaels appeared up on the giant screen at the top of the ramp and was broadcasting a message to Taker, from a graveyard. Michaels discussed each of the 16 opponents Taker has buried in his undefeated streak at Wrestlemania, leading up to this match with the Showstopper. Michaels had a grave dug, with a tombstone nearby that read 16-1. Michaels began to symbolically bury the streak by shoveling dirt into the grave, much to Undertaker's dismay. Now with Michaels' tribute on Smackdown, how will Undertaker respond? Will Undertaker have some of his own mind games ready for HBK?
Also on tonight's show the two tag teams set to unify the tag team titles at Wrestlemania 25 will compete in a non-title match. To sweeten things up, one of the Bella Twins will be teaming up with each of the tag teams. The Miz & John Morrison will have Nikki Bella, as Primo and Carlito Colon will have Brie Bella as their WWE Diva tag partner. It's going to make for an interesting six person tag match in which the heated feud continues and possibly just starts for the Bella Twins. After Carlito got the best of Morrison during a preview Lumberjack match on ECW, Nikki Bella was all smiles as Brie backed up the ramp with Miz and Morrison. Which team will come out on top in this match and which Bella will prove better in the ring?
The other matter at hand for Smackdown involves the World Heavyweight Title, a triple threat match, and a love triangle. On Raw this past week, John Cena delivered a heartfelt Get Well card to Vickie Guerrero, before he did his best to stir the pot and make Show and Edge clash violently in their match. Big Show gained the upperhand with Vickie looking on from ringside in a wheelchair. With Edge tangled in the ropes, Show prepared for a knockout punch. Vickie pleaded with Show not to do it, and eventually sent nephew Chavo Guerrero into the ring to intervene. Show brushed Chavo aside, and Edge ran over for the save. Unfortunately for Edge, he still received a knockout punch from Show. Big Show went over and told Vickie he did it for her following his actions. As this feud heats up, the love triangle continues, while Cena prepares for his shot at the Title at WM25. What will Vickie Guerrero and John Cena's responses be to the melee that went down on Raw? What will go down on Smackdown between Cena, Edge, Show and Vickie?
