Smackdown Preview 08.06.10

On tonight's Smackdown, the red hot Dolph Ziggler will look to finally add some gold to his waist. With Vickie Guerrero's assistance, Ziggler has now defeated the Intercontinental Champion Kofi Kingston twice in non-title matchups. Tonight, Ziggler will finally get to contend for Kingston's IC title. After last week's match, Kofi was irate with Vickie Guerrero slapping him in the face through the ropes. Kofi took things out in an agressive manner rarely seen from the superstar. Will he be able to keep his cool and more importantly keep his championship?

Also tonight, Smackdown GM Teddy Long has given Team LayCool an ultimatum. On last week's show, Layla was to defend the Womens title against Tiffany. However, Smackdown consultant Vickie Guerrero came out to say that Michelle would be fighting the match as a co-champion. GM Teddy Long appeared on the Big Screen following Michelle's win to defend the title. The GM said Team LayCool will need to chose one of its members as the current champion. Will the 'Flawless' diva bff's be able to put pride aside and allow one of them to wear the belt? Which of the two divas will be the Womens Champion?

Finally, last week saw an intense No DQ matchup between Jack Swagger and Rey Mysterio. Swagger vowed to toss Rey out into the Gulf of Mexico. However, Mysterio was able to use his headscissors to flip Swagger into the water first. Swagger yelled for help, but Rey waved him off, ready to head back to the arena. Unfortunately for Rey, he was soon grabbed by The Big Red Monster Kane, and also tossed into the water! Kane just recently let the WWE Universe know that his brother, The Undertaker, said it was Mysterio who attacked him weeks ago, leaving Taker in a vegetative state. Will Mysterio respond to Kane's claims, or will Kane continue to hunt him down?

Smackdown Preview 07.23.10

With the 2010 Money in the Bank PPV now official, we saw one of the two MITB briefcase winners cash in on the same night as the PPV. The Big Red Monster Kane was able to win Money in the Bank and then cashed in on champion Rey Mysterio. Mysterio had already been hobbled severely by Jack Swagger, allowing Kane to collect an easy victory after a chokeslam and Tombstone Piledriver. With the win, Kane is now World Heavyweight Champion. What will the Big Red Monster have to say regarding his title reign? Will he dedicate this to his fallen brother, The Undertaker?

With Kane winning the World Championship, it makes the WWE Universe wonder if Rey Mysterio will be out of action for a while, or will he get a rematch. Another superstar who might lay claim to the title is Jack Swagger, although Swagger was driven backstage by Kane. Will either Swagger or Mysterio challenge Kane for the title? Or will Kane get a new #1 Contender on Smackdown?

Also at Money in the Bank, Kelly Kelly had her first ever title opportunity at a Pay-Per-View event. One half of the Blondtourage took on the Womens Champion Layla. Kelly's friend Tiffany was at ringside, while the self-professed Co-champion Michelle McCool was on hand to support Layla. When a fight at ringside broke out between Michelle and Tiffany, it caused enough distraction for Layla to gain victory. With Layla winning by pinfall at the PPV to retain the title, who will be the next one to challenge? Will Kelly get another shot?

Smackdown Preview 06.11.10

Tonight's Smackdown will pair off the four guys involved in this month's Fatal 4-Way match for the World Championship title. In one match, we'll see CM Punk back in action just a few nights after suffering a vicious attack on Raw from the NXT season 1 competitors. Luke Gallows recently appeared on WWE Superstars and seemed in good condition, but how will CM Punk do? His opponent tonight is no slouch, as he'll be facing The World's Largest Athlete, The Big Show. Will Punk find a way to overcome his injuries and defeat this massive foe? Or will Big Show get the quick and easy victory?

In the other half of the Fatal 4-Way matches, World Champion Jack Swagger will face off against Rey Mysterio. Mysterio just recently earned his spot in the Fatal 4-Way match after The Undertaker was mysteriously attacked and unable to compete. Meanwhile, Swagger has continued to hold onto the World Title despite challenges from Randy Orton, Big Show, Edge and Chris Jericho. Tonight will be a non-title match, but will Mysterio be able to earn a pinfall against the champ, or will Swagger prove his worth in the ring?

And finally the mystery will continue as to who attacked Undertaker on Memorial Day weekend. We saw The Big Red Monster Kane taking out his frustration by confronting just about every superstar he could find on Smackdown and Raw. Kane was also one of the final competitors in the Smackdown Battle Royal, only to be eliminated by Rey Mysterio last. On Raw, Kane was voted in by the fans to face The Celtic Warrior Sheamus, but Sheamus hit the road and got counted out. Will Kane be given another opponent tonight to take out his frustrations, or will he find one himself?

Smackdown Preview 06/04/10

What to look for on tonight's Smackdown 06/04/10:

Four men will be preparing themselves for this month's "Fatal 4-Way" PPV which features the World Heavyweight Title match, also a Fatal Fourway. Champion Jack Swagger will defend against Big Show, CM Punk and The Undertaker. All four men will continually look to gain the advantage and momentum. Will GM Teddy Long set up another tag match similar to Raw's which involved the four competitors? Also, how long will Punk manage to keep on that black mask to cover his bald head from curious fans?

Tonight's Smackdown will also feature Kofi Kingston defending his Intercontinental Title against the former champ, Drew McIntyre, as Drew invokes his rematch clause. McIntyre continues to be heated after losing the title, citing he was unable to effectively wrestle at the last Pay-Per-View. He's also been the target of one Matt Hardy. Will Kofi lower the Boom Boom on Drew again, or will McIntyre win back his lost championship?

Not only are Smackdown stars in action on tonight's show, but they'll need to be ready for Monday Night's Raw. The special 3-hour show features a Viewers Choice involving the rosters of Raw and Smackdown. Fans will be able to log-in next Monday to determine the matchups, stipulations and superstars involved so it could make for some interesting situations! See more details here at WWE.com.

Smackdown Preview 05.28.10

On tonight's Smackdown, the fate of the World Heavyweight Title is likely to be decided for Jack Swagger. This comes after Sunday's Over the Limit PPV saw Swagger cheat his way out of the match. During the final part of his match against Big Show, Swagger clocked Big Show with the title belt, causing the referee to disqualify the champ. While Big Show won the decision, Swagger retained his belt. With all that said, Smackdown GM Theodore Long will likely have to find a way to make Big Show happy with the Swagger DQ at OTL. What will Teddy Long decide for the World Heavyweight Title with the upcoming Fatal 4-Way PPV?

Also on tonight's show, the WWE Universe is looking forward to seeing the new look of StraightEdge Society leader, CM Punk. At Over the Limit, Punk lost his match to Rey Mysterio, meaning Punk would have to lose his hair. While the SES leader had some backup in place, with Luke Gallows, Serena and the hooded mystery man, the Big Red Monster, Kane, came to the aid of Mysterio. Together they cleared the ring and were able to handcuff Punk to the ropes for his haircut. Now with CM Punk bald, he has lost his symbolic purity, his locks of hair. Will the new CM Punk be revealed on tonight's show? Is the Mysterio-Punk feud over now?

And finally, the biggest appearance of tonight will likely come when The Deadman returns. The Undertaker has been seen on episodes of WWE Raw in the past months, but not yet on his official show, Smackdown. Undertaker does have the distinction of defeating Jack Swagger on Raw in a non-title match, and he just might be after the World title once again. What will the Undertaker have to say when he returns to Smackdown? Will he go after Jack Swagger and the World Heavyweight title? Will Undertaker be a part of the Fatal 4-Way PPV?

Smackdown Preview 05.21.10

On tonight's episode of Smackdown, the World's Largest Athlete will have his tune-up match for this coming Sunday's Over the Limit. His opponent is competing for the first time since attacking Matt Hardy viciously weeks ago. Drew McIntyre will battle Big Show prior to both wrestlers meeting their respective opponents in OTL title matches. Drew recently returned to Smackdown despite being suspended, stripped of the IC title and fired. After handing a note to Teddy Long, he was not only reinstated on the show but also given his IC belt back, right after Kofi Kingston had won it in a tournament. Meanwhile, Big Show has had his opponent's number for several weeks, getting under the skin of World Champ Jack Swagger. Last week Show smashed all of Swagger's prized trophies and possessions in the ring. Who will win tonight's match heading into OTL? Will Kofi Kingston or Swagger get involved?

Not only was the Intercontinental title belt exchanged between Superstars on Smackdown, but the Womens Championship has also changed to a new owner. Right now, the Womens title is under the possession of Layla. She won the title with a pinfall on Beth Phoenix, but in a 2-on-1 handicap match with Michelle McCool as her partner. Layla got the pinfall after Beth and Michelle knocked into each other and fell down. Recently, McCool was seen wearing a Womens title as well, because the duo had won the match handicap style. Will both divas be allowed to continue holding Womens Championships? Who will be the first to challenge for the title now that Layla is the new owner? Will they need to beat Team LayCool to win the title?

Finally, with Over the Limit approaching in about two nights, there will be several superstars looking to prepare on Smackdown. In addition to Big Show, Drew McIntyre, Swagger and Kofi Kingston, Rey Mysterio and CM Punk will also look to prepare. Just last week, CM Punk was once again aided by the mystery SES figure who helped attack Mysterio in the ring. At this Sunday's PPV, if Mysterio loses to Punk he will be required to join the StraightEdge Society. However, if Punk loses, it's bye bye to his locks of hair. How will these two Smackdown stars prepare for Sunday's PPV?

Smackdown Preview 05.14.10

With Over the Limit PPV matches on the horizon, each episode of Raw and Smackdown will get more intense. Tonight's Smackdown in particular will feature a battle between two of the scheduled competitors for an OTL match. Rey Mysterio and CM Punk will go one-on-one in the ring with no stipulations on the line yet. However, both superstars will look to gain momentum by winning this contest. Mysterio may also be watching his back, as in several past encounters with CM Punk, Rey has been attacked by a mysterious hooded figure. Will the mysterious SES member show up again tonight? Who will win as Mysterio and Punk battle nine days before OTL?

Also, last week's Smackdown had a volcanic eruption at the start of the show, as Drew McIntyre flew into a rage and repeatedly attacked Matt Hardy at ringside. GM Teddy Long warned McIntyre to stop, but the Intercontinental champ refused to listen. Due to his inability to follow the GM's orders, Drew was not only suspended, but then stripped of the IC title and fired on the spot. After Drew was escorted from the building, Teddy Long scheduled a tournament to determine the new IC champ. The winners of two matches would meet over the vacant championship. Tonight the Intercontinental title is decided as Kofi Kingston battles Christian. Which of these newly acquired Smackdown stars will become the new IC Champ?

And finally, as we head towards Over the Limit, Jack Swagger is looking for any edge he can gain over his future opponent, The Big Show. On their first in-ring meeting, Swagger got a KO punch from Big Show that left him face down. Last week, Swagger went one-on-one with Kane, with Big Show watching from the commentators' table. After the match, Kane attempted to chokeslam Swagger but was kicked down by the World Champion. However, Big Show was quickly up and knocked Swagger down, then chokeslammed him through the table. Swagger was left layed out once again. Will Jack Swagger be able to gain any momentum going into OTL, or is Big Show going to dominate?

Smackdown Preview 05.07.10

On last week's episode of Smackdown, the newest members of the roster acquired in the WWE Draft showed up and made their presence felt. First off, Kofi Kingston achieved a victory in the opening match against former SD member, Chris Jericho. Next, Cody Rhodes made an impact when he defeated John Morrison, who was also headed for Raw. The WWE Universe also saw the newest diva in action, Kelly Kelly, as she scored the winning pinfall for her diva tag team against Team LayCool. Christian showed up to Edge's Farewell speech to challenge Edge to a match, but it appears that won't be happening anytime soon. However, Christian also made his World title aspirations known. What will be next for these superstars on Smackdown?

Another new member of the Smackdown roster is Montell Vontavius Porter. MVP arrived to tell CM Punk to shut up about his StraightEdge society. From there, Punk and Gallows tried to deliver a welcome to SD beatdown on MVP. Rey Mysterio rushed down for the save, and soon we had a tag team match with MVP & Mysterio taking on Gallows & Punk of SES. MVP and Mysterio were the victorious team, with MVP able to capture the pinfall. However, their victory celebration was shortlived as Rey Mysterio fell victim to the same hooded figure who cost him the Extreme Rules match against CM Punk. CM Punk and his crew seemed to be smirking about the incident, but the WWE Universe still has no idea who the mysterious individual is. Will the mystery SES member be revealed on tonight's show?

Finally, last week's episode saw World Champ Jack Swagger deliver various factoids about himself throughout the night, much to the irritation of the fans. He came to the ring for the final speech of the night to brag about his accomplishments and how he'd be champion for a long time. Soon, Smackdown's GM Teddy Long arrived out to tell Swagger he had found him a new #1 Contender for the World title. Teddy then introduced the World's Largest Athlete, The Big Show. Show arrived to the ring and told Swagger he was missing one thing on his illustrious resume - early retirement. From there, Swagger experienced one serious KO punch from Big Show, leaving him layed out on the mat. It appears now that the always-bragging Swagger has a serious contender. What will go down next between these two superstars on Smackdown?

Smackdown Preview 04.30.10

The landscape of the WWE was seriously altered this past week when the latest WWE Draft took place on Monday night Raw. Several top names were displaced from the Smackdown roster. The biggest of those names included former World Heavyweight Champion Chris Jericho, and the man who recently defeated him at Extreme Rules, Edge. The Rated-R Superstar Edge had an immediate impact on his new roster Monday night, when he decided to show up at the Triple Threat match between Randy Orton, Batista and Sheamus. Edge altered the course of the match, costing Orton his chance to become new #1 contender for John Cena's title. Edge had just bumped into the World Champion Jack Swagger backstage before getting drafted, and put him on notice. However, it now appears Swagger won't have to deal with Edge. With Jericho and Edge out of the picture on Smackdown, who will be the newest #1 Contender for Jack Swagger's World Heavyweight title?

Smackdown's newest acquisitions from the draft will include the Big Show, Christian, MVP and Kofi Kingston. All of these superstars have worn WWE gold at one time or another in their careers, with all of them having held individual and tag titles as well. On Smackdown, they'll have new challengers to go after including the Intercontinental champion Drew McIntyre and World Champion Jack Swagger. Will any of the newest Smackdown roster members immediately put themselves at the forefront of the contenders list?

On tonight's first Smackdown since the 2010 WWE Draft we'll get to see a few one-on-one matches involving former Smackdown roster members against new Smackdown acquisitions. In one match, new Smackdown star Cody Rhodes will face new Raw superstar, John Morrison. In another match it will be Kofi Kingston looking to bring Trouble in paradise to former Smackdown star Chris Jericho. The newest members of the Smackdown roster will want to make an early name for themselves, but will they be able to do so at the expense of John Morrison and Chris Jericho?

Smackdown Preview 04.23.10

Smackdown airs tonight just two nights ahead of the 2010 Extreme Rules Pay-Per-View. Several Smackdown superstars will look to prepare for the tougher-than-usual event, including the World Heavyweight Champion, Jack Swagger. Swagger had an unfortunate time of it on Raw this past Monday, as he issued an open challenged to the locker room. To his dismay, the man who came forth was none other than the Undertaker, who recently retired Shawn Michaels. Taker was able to defeat Swagger on Raw in his first match back since Wrestlemania 26, leaving many questioning if Swagger's ready for Orton at Extreme Rules. Tonight Swagger will take on John Morrison on Smackdown. Will Swagger gain the momentum heading into Sunday's PPV?

We've seen the demise of Cryme Tyme in the past few weeks on Smackdown. The two former partners ended during a tag team match in which Shad was pinned and JTG never got into the ring. The two have had several encounters since then, with each getting a bit of the upperhand on the other. We've now learned via WWE.com that Shad and JTG will fight in a Strap match at Extreme Rules 2010. How will these two former partners prepare on tonight's show? Will they have words for one another prior to the PPV?

The StraightEdge society led by CM Punk has a lot to lose this coming Sunday, particulary Punk losing his locks of hair. On this past Monday's Raw, Punk ended up on the losing team of a six man tag match, with Rey Mysterio hitting a 619 to allow Triple H to pin Punk. Earlier we saw Mysterio shave a part of Punk's hair off as a possible preview for Sunday's match. If Punk loses the match Sunday, he loses his hair. How will Punk prepare for this upcoming contest against Mysterio?

Smackdown Preview 04.15.10

Last week's Smackdown main event was set up to determine who would be the #1 Contender for new World Heavyweight Champion Jack Swagger at Extreme Rules. In a contest between former champs, Edge and Chris Jericho did battle in an intense matchup. The match ultimately spilled out of the ring, into the crowd and didn't stop even when the referee's ten count came. Due to the double countout, no true #1 Contender was determined, and on Raw, special guest host David Hasselhoff announced that Randy Orton would be facing Swagger at Extreme Rules. With the title match figured out, Jericho and Edge still seem to have unfinished business. Will these two have a rematch set up on Smackdown? What's next for this feud?

Last week also saw CM Punk and StraightEdge Society try to induct WWE NXT rookie Darren Young into their group. To do so, Punk required that Young pledge himself to Punk as his savior, and then allow him to ceremoniously shave Young's head. Young was in the chair and seemed ready to become the newest SES member, but then changed his mind. When Punk got in his face, Young shoved him down, but was then pummeled by Luke Gallows. Punk prepared to shave Young's hair anyways, but Rey Mysterio came to the rescue and broke things up. Young redeemed himself with Punk on NXT by defeating Luke Gallows in the main event match. At the conclusion of the match it seemed Punk was not pleased with Gallows and left him behind. Now tonight on Smackdown, Rey Mysterio will team up with the Hart Dynasty to face Darren Young, CM Punk and Luke Gallows. Who will be victorious in this huge tag team battle?

Also on Smackdown, Jack Swagger now knows of his competitor for Extreme Rules 2010. The new World Heavyweight Champion will have his work cut out for him as he must defend against The Viper, Randy Orton. Orton has defeated Swagger on two straight occasions with pinfall victories after RKO's. However, in Orton's recent Raw match against The Animal Batista, we saw Swagger interrupt the match right when Orton had the win in hand. Swagger delivered a Gutwrench Powerbomb to leave his future Extreme Rules opponent laying on the mat. Will Orton have a message for Swagger on Smackdown, or make an appearance on the show?

Smackdown Preview 04.09.10

Last week's Smackdown saw plenty of surprising moments, but perhaps none more surprising than the crowning of a new World Heavyweight Champion. Not even 20 minutes or so into the open of the show, Jack Swagger was able to cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase for a shot at Chris Jericho's World Title. This came just moments after Jericho had been Speared down in the ring by Edge, and after Swagger had clocked Edge from behind with the briefcase. Swagger called for a ref, and after several moments of ring-clearing, the bell rang with Swagger picking up Jericho for the Gutwrench Powerbomb. With that, Swagger became World Champion for the first time in his career, but Jericho and Edge both feel they are the rightful owners of the title. Due to that fact, Teddy Long announced that Jericho and Edge will lock up tonight, one-on-one, with the winner of the match getting Swagger at Extreme Rules. Will it be Chris Jericho or Edge who becomes the #1 Contender on tonight's Smackdown?

Also last week, we saw the breakup of longtime tag team, Cryme Tyme. It happened after Shad was defeated by John Morrison and R-Truth in a tag match which never saw JTG able to tag in. After the loss, the two partners got into a heated argument. Shoving ensued, but ultimately the big man Shad Gaspar layed out his partner JTG in the ring. After hitting his finisher, it seemed that the days of Cryme Tyme had ended. Later backstage, Shad told Josh Matthews there's no more Cryme Tyme, but that now is "his time". What will go down next between these two former friends and tag team partners? Will JTG retaliate against his former Cryme Tyme partner for last week's post-match attack?

And finally, the CM Punk Rey Mysterio feud didn't quite end at Wrestlemania 26. Even though Mysterio was able to win at WM26 and avoid becoming StraightEdge, CM Punk is not satisfied. During a promo last week, Punk said he wants a rematch with Rey and is willing to put his own locks of hair on the line. If Rey loses, he has to join Straightedge Society, but if Punk loses, his hair gets shaved off. Rey Mysterio has yet to be heard from regarding this latest challenge. Meanwhile, Punk is also the pro mentor for WWE NXT rookie Darren Young. Young seems to blame Punk for his #8 ranking, dead last among NXT competitors. Will Young find a way to turn things around? What will Rey Mysterio's answer be to CM Punk's latest challenge?

Smackdown Preview 03.26.10

Tonight's episode of Smackdown is just two nights ahead of the major Pay-Per-View of 2010, Wrestlemania 26! On tonight's episode, stars from both Raw and Smackdown will be present. We know this because there will be a five-on-five tag match featuring all ten competitors of the Money in the Bank ladder match. One team will feature Raw's Christian, Jack Swagger, MVP, Evan Bourne and Kofi Kingston as they take on Smackdown's Dolph Ziggler, Matt Hardy, Shelton Benjamin, Drew McIntyre and Kane. Which side will prevail in this warmup match prior to Wrestlemania 26, or will all hell break loose amongst the 10 competitors?

Also on tonight's show, Vickie Guerrero sees her first ever WWE divas match on Smackdown. Last week, the Smackdown consultant set up a one-on-one match between herself and Beth Phoenix for Friday. The match came as a result of Phoenix laying hands on Vickie in the ring a week prior. Vickie escaped from The Glamazon's clutches, but barely, and with the help of Michelle McCool and Layla. Now Vickie will look to gain revenge of some sort, but will it be by herself, or with the help of Team LayCool?

Also, we've got plenty of other Smackdown stars looking ahead to Wrestlemania 26. The Undertaker is looking to head into the event with the momentum and mental edge over his opponent Shawn Michaels, with HBK's career riding on the line against Taker's streak. Also, Rey Mysterio and CM Punk are preparing for war, with Mysterio looking to win back honor and respect, while Punk is looking to win a new Straightedge Society recruit. And of course, we've got the World Heavyweight title match competitors Chris Jericho and Edge who have built up quite the competitive feud. Which superstars will gain more momentum after tonight's episode of Smackdown?

Smackdown Preview 03.19.10

As we inch closer to Wrestlemania 26 in Phoenix, Smackdown superstars will be looking to gain momentum for their upcoming PPV matches. One of those matches will feature World Champion Chris Jericho as he defends the title against 2010 Royal Rumble winner Edge. In numerous encounters in the ring, Edge managed to deliver a Spear to take down the champion, displaying just what might happen to Jericho at Mania. Jericho wised up to it though, and during last week's Highlight Reel segment, Jericho avoided another spear, then clocked Edge in the head with his World Championship belt. What will go down between these two superstars tonight when Edge hosts Jericho on "The Cutting Edge"?

Also last week saw CM Punk stoop to a new low as he insulted Rey Mysterio in the ring in front of Rey's family. Rey had brought out his son, wife and daughter who was celebrating her birthday. As he tried to lead the crowd in singing Happy Birthday to her, it was interrupted by CM Punk and his Straightedge followers, Serena and Luke Gallows. Punk proceeded to try to intimidate Rey, calling him a coward in front of his familia, and then challenged him to a Wrestlemania 26 match. At the time, Rey hadn't accepted the match and made sure to get his family out of harm's way. He attacked Punk later in the show, but no Mania match has been announced as of yet. Will GM Teddy Long make it official tonight?

Also in the past few weeks, Vickie Guerrero has been quite the vindictive Smackdown consultant. Vickie was responsible for booking a match in which she guest refereed and ended up costing Mickie James her Womens Championship. In the following week, she told Beth Phoenix she would never get a shot at Michelle McCool's championship. Just this past Monday Night, Vickie showed up on Raw along with Michelle McCool and Layla as they rushed to the ring to beat up Kelly Kelly, Eve and Gail Kim. Is a Smackdown vs Raw divas match coming up soon?

Also, don't forget about The Undertaker, Truth & Morrison as well as the Smackdown participants for the 2010 Money in the Bank ladder match!

Smackdown Preview 03.12.10

On tonight's Smackdown, Chris Jericho is scheduled to return with "The Highlight Reel". His popular in-ring talk show has been off the air for some time, but tonight it returns and is bigger than ever. Jericho's scheduled guest for the return will be the Rated-R Superstar Edge. These two former tag team champion partners will be upcoming opponents at Wrestlemania 26 for the World Heavyweight title. In weeks past, Edge has repeatedly delivered spear, after spear, after spear to Jericho. Will tonight's Highlight reel feature yet another spear takedown from Edge? Or will Jericho find a way to get some revenge in the ring?

The past few weeks have also seen an enraged Intercontinental Champion, Drew McIntyre. Two weeks ago he lost in Money in the Bank qualifying match to Kane. The following week it was learned that Vince McMahon had erased the loss from the record books, allowing Drew to remain undefeated. Drew was given another MITB opportunity against Matt Hardy last week, but once again suffered a loss. Furious, McIntyre once again went outside the ring and tore up the commentators' table then screamed at Matt Striker. Will Drew's latest loss hold up in the record books, or will he find a way to get rid of it? Also, will McIntyre find a way to get into Wrestlemania 26's card?

And finally, in the WWE divas division it's one again Team LayCool who are running things. This time around they've got the powerful Smackdown consultant, Vickie Guerrero as their help. Last week LayCool presented Vickie with her own "Flawless" shirt. Just moments later, Beth Phoenix The Glamazon came up to ask when her WWE Womens title shot will be coming. A vindictive Vickie Guerrero told Beth she'll never be getting a title opportunity. Mickie James is also due a rematch, so which diva will be the next challenger for Michelle McCool? Will Vickie continue to meddle in this situation?

Smackdown Preview 02.26.10

With the Elimination Chamber PPV results from this past Sunday, the Smackdown brand now holds both of the WWE's major titles. In the Raw Elimination Chamber, John Cena was victorious when he made Triple H tap out to the STF. However, Cena's title reign was short, as Chairman Vince McMahon announced Cena would immediately defend his newly acquired title against The Animal, Batista. Batista came to the ring and was able to easily defeat an already worn out and beaten down Cena, making The Animal the new WWE Champion. After weeks of bizarre behavior, it now appears obvious that Batista's plan was to cash in on a behind-the-scenes deal he made with Mr. McMahon for a title shot at anytime. Now, Batista will be on the road to Wrestlemania 26, but that road may become rocky. On Raw, John Cena was given the opportunity to earn his title rematch for Wrestlemania, but he would have to defeat Batista to do so. Batista immediately DQ'd himself with a kick to Cena's groin, then gave Cena a further beatdown outside the ring with repeated chair shots. What will Batista have to say on Smackdown regarding his actions? Will John Cena respond or not be able to after Monday's attack?

Also at the Chamber PPV, Chris Jericho captured the World Title, but only thanks to Shawn Michaels Sweet Chin Music on the Undertaker. Nonetheless, the brash and arrogant Jericho now is World Heavyweight Champion. While trying to brag and gloat in front of the WWE Universe on Raw Monday night, he was soon informed of his Wrestlemania 26 fate. Edge made it known after a Spear takedown on Jericho that he has chosen to face Jericho for the title at Wrestlemania 26. Edge certainly has retribution on his mind after what's gone down while he was rehabbing his injury for months. Jericho has also warned Edge to stay out of his way or he'd get hurt. Who will make the next move as these two prepare for the Road to Wrestlemania?

On Raw, fans learned that the first competitor in the Money in the Bank Ladder match for Wrestlemania 26 will be Raw's newest addition, Christian. With Christian in the match, he's already a favorite to pull down the MITB briefcase at Mania. However, there's 5-6 more wrestlers to be decided for the contest. In the past other names have included Smackdown stars John Morrison, Kane and CM Punk. Both Punk and Kane figured into last year's finals, with Punk able to knock Kane off a ladder in the late part of the match to win it all. CM Punk is in fact the winner of the last two MITB matches at Wrestlemania which helped him capture two World Heavyweight title reigns. Will the Straightedge superstar be part of the qualifying matches for WM26, or will he have a different agenda in mind for the biggest PPV of the year? Who will be the first Smackdown star to qualify?

Smackdown Preview 02.19.10

On tonight's episode of Smackdown, the Rated-R Superstar Edge is set to return to action. That's the good news for Edge and his fans, with the bad news being he has to face a bizarre yet destructive opponent in the form of Batista. The Animal's last promo on Smackdown was done in all silence, simply pacing around the ring, allowing the fans to boo his silence, and then leaving backstage. He finally made his remarks on WWE Raw this past Monday by telling John Cena he'll arrive to Raw next week. This comes in response to the attack Batista made on Cena weeks ago on Raw. In Batista's last match, he left the ring to get counted out against CM Punk, losing his shot at the Elimination Chamber and Heavyweight title. Will Batista have a repeat performance against Edge? Will The Animal even step inside the ring tonight?

With the Elimination Chamber PPV on the horizon for Sunday, all six of the involved competitors will look to gain some momentum. R-Truth, Chris Jericho, Rey Mysterio, CM Punk and John Morrison would all like to win the Undertaker's title this Sunday. For Jericho, Mysterio and Punk it would be another title reign to add to their resumes, while for R-Truth or Morrison it would be historic as their first. Recently, as R-Truth and John Morrison competed in a tune-up match for the Chamber, Morrison appeared to twist his ankle. The injury caused the referee to call the match, with Morrison requiring assistance to get on his feet and backstage. Will Morrison be healthy for the upcoming Pay-Per-View event?

And finally, it appears that the Mickie James-Team LayCool feud is not yet over. On the last episode of Smackdown, Mickie accidentally splattered a bowl of cottage cheese all over Smackdown consultant Vickie Guerrero. This sent Guerrero into a rage and she set up a handicap match to punish Mickie for the act. Mickie was left to fend for herself in the ring against Michelle McCool and Layla. Although the current Womens Champ looked good in the earlygoing, she didn't have enough to hold off both heel divas. Team LayCool soon had control of the match, and after a Faitbreaker by McCool it was all over. What will be next between these WWE Divas as McCool looks to try to regain her title?

Smackdown Preview 02.12.10

Tonight's Smackdown episode will feature a "Chamber Prelude" as all six competitors for the upcoming Elimination Chamber match will square off in singles matches against each other. It appears according to the WWE.com graphic shown, that the pairings are R-Truth versus John Morrison, Rey Mysterio versus CM Punk, and Chris Jericho versus The Undertaker. All six men will be looking to score big and make an impact to gain serious momentum heading into the Chamber PPV. How will they fare in their singles matches on Smackdown? Will the matches all be contested fairly, or see outside interference from other competitors?

Also, there's plenty of interesting situations brewing for Smackdown as of the past week or so. One of these incidents involves the Heartbreak Kid, Shawn Michaels, who angrily demanded that Smackdown GM Theodore Long trade for him to come to Smackdown and allow him to join the Elimination Chamber match. Michaels continues to be obsessed with finding a way to get his rematch with Undertaker at Wrestlemania 26. Long informed Michaels he just couldn't trade and the Chamber match was set, but HBK wasn't happy with the answer. Long ended up on the receiving end of a Superkick, and it's unclear if he'll be able to participate in Smackdown tonight. Will Smackdown's GM be there to preside over the show, or will someone else be taking his place tonight?

Two other events which are likely to shake up the Smackdown roster are going on as well. First off, the return of the Rated-R Superstar Edge to Smackdown has created quite the scenario as far as the title picture goes. Edge is looking ahead towards Wrestlemania 26 as the winner of the 2010 Royal Rumble match. It appears Edge will make a decision of who he will face once the Elimination Chamber has decided the World Heavyweight Champion. Meanwhile, he's got Chris Jericho and The Undertaker in his sights. Also, with the recent news of ECW's end coming to SyFy, the superstars of ECW will all be free agents. Several are likely to wind up as Smackdown superstars. What will Edge's next move be as he looks ahead for his WM26 competition? Will any of the ECW superstars show up on Smackdown like Christian did on Raw?

Smackdown Preview 02.05.10

Tonight's edition of Smackdown will feature the much-anticipated return of the Rated-R Superstar to the show. On this past Sunday, Edge made a dramatic return to the wrestling ring when he entered the Royal Rumble at #29. From there he eliminated his former tag partner, the always cocky Chris Jericho, and then moments later eliminated John Cena to become the 2010 Royal Rumble winner. With those eliminations, Edge earned himself a main event spot at Wrestlemania 26. When he appeared on Raw this past week, Edge discussed his options of challenging Sheamus or Undertaker for their titles. Edge also suggested he might wait for the Elimination Chamber PPV to see who the current champs are. On Raw, the WWE Champion Sheamus came to the ring to try to intimidate Edge, but it was to no avail. Sheamus ended up being speared down and left down on the mat, showing that Edge is ready for the fight. On tonight's Smackdown he will host the Cutting Edge in the ring with special guest, the Undertaker. How will things play out between Edge and the World Heavyweight champion?

At Sunday's Royal Rumble, Rey Mysterio unfortunately failed in his attempt to defeat the Undertaker. While Rey lost cleanly, it was definitely a disappointing loss for the master of the 619. Now it appears that Rey may have another shot at the title, but only if he's added to the Elimination Chamber match for the title. On Raw, a series of matches were held in order to determine the 5 challengers for the WWE Title Elimination Chamber. John Cena, Randy Orton, Ted Dibiase, Triple H and Kofi Kingston have all qualified for the Raw match. Will Smackdown determine its Chamber competitors in a similar way? Who will qualify for the World Heavyweight chamber match?

And finally, with this Sunday's Rumble there were plenty of surprises during the event. The Glamazon Beth Phoenix was part of the Rumble match and eliminated the biggest man in the match, the Great Khali. CM Punk was on a roll in the match as he eliminated several superstars, only to be eliminated by Triple H. In the WWE Womens Title match, Mickie James finally achieved her goals of winning back the title and shutting up the insulting Michelle McCool. There will be plenty of fallout from the big Pay-Per-View! What new feuds will develop as a result of the event?

Smackdown Preview 01.29.10

With the Royal Rumble just a few days away, the superstars of Smackdown will look to prepare themselves for this Sunday's huge Pay-Per-View. Scheduled to appear on the show are D-Generation X as they will look to defend their unified tag team championships against the team of Luke Gallows and his leader, CM Punk of the Straightedge Society. In week's past, Punk and Gallows have inducted WWE Universe members into their society, using a Straightedge pledge and a hair shaving as symbols of transformation. Tonight, Punk and Gallows will look to add the tag team titles to their society along with their faithful recruits. Will they be able to defeat DX and bring the titles to the Straightedge Society? Or will D-Generation X continue to reign supreme as tag team champions?

Also on tonight's show, Drew McIntyre will be defending his Intercontinental title in a No disqualification match against former champion, John Morrison. In week's past, these two have feuded with varying results in their encounters, mostly with McIntyre coming away with a cheap win to retain his title. With no DQ's in tonight's match anything is possible. Morrison now will seek to regain his Intercontinental title from the man he continues to mock. Meanwhile, McIntyre continues to claim he is the next generation of top WWE Superstar, and future Heavyweight champion. Will McIntyre be able to keep his title against Morrison, or will the former champion regain the gold?

And finally, Rey Mysterio continues to try to prove to himself and the WWE Universe that he does not fear the Deadman, The Undertaker. During last week's show, Mysterio called out the Phenom to look him in the eyes and let him know he wasn't intimidated. Undertaker said he admired the "little man's" bold words and bravery, but told him he will fall just like the rest have into the grave. Mysterio yelled out as the Undertaker made his way back up the ramp, but soon found himself victim of a sneak attack by The Animal Batista. It appears Batista is looking to send a message before the Rumble, just as Mysterio was trying to. Will these Superstars cross paths again on tonight's episode of Smackdown? Will the Undertaker make his presence felt?
