WWE Superstars Recap 07.16.09

Tonight's 07/16/09 episode of WWE Superstars featured the ongoing feud between The Hart Dynasty and Cryme Tyme as well as an ECW divas battle involving the Bellas and Katie Lea Burchill. For the main event, we got to see United States Champion Kofi Kingston in a non-title match against the mammoth Big Show. Here's the recaps and results for the 7/16 episode of Superstars...

Cryme Tyme vs. Hart Dynasty

Cryme Tyme had Eve at ringside while Natalya accompanied her team as well. The match lasted nearly 10 minutes including plenty of submission holds exchanged. Late in the match after a barrage of moves, JTG made the pin attempt on Tyson Kidd. David Hart Smith entered the ring for the save. Shad Gaspar and Smith ended up fighting on the outside, while Natalya got on the apron to distract. Eve pulled Natalya off to fight her off. Meanwhile in the ring, JTG converted a wristlock into a backbreaker on Kidd to get the pinfall victory.

Winners: Cryme Tyme wins via pinfall over The Hart Dynasty.

Rey Mysterio came to the ring to discuss last week's incident on Smackdown. Rey showed the video footage where he suffered an attack by Dolph Ziggler, Edge and Chris Jericho. As Mysterio started to go off in Spanish, Dolph Ziggler came out with a mic. Ziggler ended up challenging Mysterio for his IC Title at Night of Champions, with Mysterio accepting. The two ended up getting into a confrontation with Rey chasing Ziggler around and then attacking him in the ring. Ziggler escaped to the back as Rey celebrated in the ring.

Brie Bella vs. Katie Lea Burchill

With Nikki Bella at ringside, Brie took an early beating from Katie Lea. Brie ended up fighting out of a submission locked in by Katie, and the two wound up on the outside. Both Brie and Nikki got into the ring together and the ref threw the wrong Bella out, Brie. Nikki then ducked a clothesline attempt from Katie Lea and rolled her up for the winning pin in about 3 minutes time.

Winner: Brie Bella wins via pinfall over Katie Lea Burchill.

Kofi Kingston vs. Big Show

Late in the match, Kofi had Show in the corner and went for a series of 10 punches. Show picked up Kofi and then dropped him face first. Show went for a submission hold with Kofi escaping and hitting him with kicks. A low dropkick by Kofi sent Show to the outside. Kofi then hit his patented double leg drop and was about to go for Trouble in Paradise. Show knocked Kingston away on the kick attempt and then hit a Chokeslam to get the win.

Winner: Big Show wins via pinfall over Kofi Kingston.
