Seth Rollins opened the show to hype up his match on Sunday at Extreme Rules saying he’s glad Randy Orton got the RKO out of his system on Raw because he won’t be using it on Sunday. Rollins also mocked Kane a bit as the “gatekeeper” for Sunday’s cage match, which brought Kane out in his business suit. Kane told Rollins he might want to think twice about talking down to him, and Rollins kept up the cocky trash talk. Kane said since he did a favor for Rollins by laying down, he wants Rollins to return the favor in a match, next.
Seth Rollins and Kane match never happened. Kane demanded Rollins adhere his instructions to lay down or he’d rip his guts out. Eventually, Rollins dropped to his knees and told Kane to get it over with. Kane laughed saying he was just joking. He said Rollins will have a match though so he can remember what extreme is. Dean Ambrose came out for the match.
As Ambrose came out, so did Luke Harper. Ambrose ended up fighting Harper and beating him up on the announce table. Rollins got involved as he and J&J Security overwhelmed Ambrose. Roman Reigns came out to make a save with Seth Rollins dodging the Superman Punch.
Dolph Ziggler & Neville defeated Wade Barett & Sheamus via pinfall. Late in the match, Ziggler hit a Zig Zag on Barrett. He tagged in Neville and kept Sheamus from breaking up the match as Neville hit Red Arrow to get the win.
Bray Wyatt had a promo talking about how someone’s strength is an illusion and he is going to expose them for the weakling they are. He said he would take the one thing they can’t live without and “what’s the use for a butterfly without wings?”
Naomi defeated Natalya via pinfall. Natalya tried for the Sharpshooter late, but Naomi escaped by slapping her away. Naomi then whipped Natalya to the ropes and hit the Rear View to collect the victory.
Lana and Rusev were out for a promo talking about the Russian Chain and the match with Cena on Sunday. Rusev said Cena won’t escape on Sunday, and no mercy will be shown. Ryback came out for their match.
Ryback defeated Rusev via disqualification. Late in the match, Ryback was able to hit a spine buster followed by a Meathook, with Rusev able to kick out at 2. Ryback went for Shell Shocked but Rusev ducked out, then grabbed the Russian chain causing a DQ. Post-match, he wrapped the chain on his hand and hit Ryback with it. He stood tall for a moment then put The Accolade on Ryback, using the chain to help. He eventually released the hold.
New Day came out to cut a promo talking trash about the people not being positive enough and not clapping enough. Big E talked about the tag champs Cesaro and Kidd not embracing the positive message. Xavier Woods compared New Day to a medicine that doesn’t taste good going down, but cures any problem you might have. New Day said once they become new tag champs things will be more positive in WWE.
Kofi Kingston defeated Cesaro via pinfall. The match lasted just about a minute and a half. Cesaro was going to go for a Cesaro Swing at one point but didn’t get to it as a distraction broke out. Kofi was able to hit his Trouble in Paradise for the win.
Dean Ambrose & Roman Reigns defeated Luke Harper and Seth Rollins via pinfall. Kane was ringside during the match as were J&J Security. Late in the contest, Rollins hit a Bucklebomb and then Harper had a clothesline on Reigns. Ambrose was able to break up the pinfall. Harper and Reigns both tagged out to bring in Ambrose and Rollins. Ambrose hit his slingshot clothesline from the ropes and sent the two opponents out of the ring. He jumped off the top rope with an elbow drop to take out all the heels outside the ring. Reigns had tagged in as legal man for his side. Kane tossed Rollins back into the ring and Reigns hit a Spear to get the win. Post-match, the commentary team discussed how Reigns had just pinned the WWE champion. They brought up Kane’s actions wondering what his motives were as SmackDown ended.
