The Collapse of Teddy Long

On Friday's Smackdown, the wedding of WWE Diva Kristal and Smackdown General Manager Teddy Long seemed doomed as it kept trying to move forward. Despite the beautiful scenery, the great musical performance of Jagged Edge and the attendance of many of Teddy & Kristal's friends, constant interruptions occurred. First, WWE Diva & bad singer Jillian Hall decided to show up and serenade the wedding after Jagged Edge finished their performance. Then there was the Godfather Pimp showing up with his "Ho Train" to parade them into the ring, reminding Teddy of the good old days. Most of the male guests at the wedding proceeded to leave the ceremony, after jumping on board the Ho Train. Throw in Hornswoggle behaving like a little kid, and the ceremony had its full share of problems. But then the unthinkable happened with Teddy Long collapsing and paramedics rushing to the ring to bring him out to an ambulance.

WWE.com has provided the following update on the Smackdown GM's status:

"After being rushed to a local medical facility, Long’s doctors claim the groom was suffering from hypertension, which was worsened by the ingestion of the erectile dysfunction medicine Viagra.

“Mr. Long then suffered a myocardial infraction with cardio myopathy,” claims WWE’s Dr. Ferdinand Rios. “As a result, he is currently semi-comatose.”

According to Dr. Rios, Long has been slipping in and out of consciousness since early Saturday morning. At the moment, a long-term diagnosis is difficult to make. Long is currently under around-the-clock supervision, as the next few days are critical."

What's interesting to remember are the following things from Smackdown:

- A while back on Smackdown, Vickie Guerrero had a private discussion with Kristal during an interview. We weren't made aware of their "plan" or what was discussed.

- Kristal became intimate and close with Teddy and helped Vickie Guerrero land the assistant GM job on Smackdown. Vickie has seemed to be a fair Assistant GM so far, but you'd have to think she had a trick up her sleeve. Is there a wrestler she will help now? Chavo would be the first to come to mind.

- Finally, a few weeks ago, Vickie handed Teddy a blue pill as a gift, which was supposed to be Viagara. What was it really though?

So the questions loom as Teddy Long is still in the hospital. W It brings up another "near death" storyline as well, this time for the main guy on Smackdown. With Teddy sidelined, we can only speculate what exactly Kristal and Vickie might have in store for Smackdown. If the two women become in charge of the show, the Smackdown roster could be in for some trouble.

Teddy & Kristal's Guestlist

In Kristal's latest WWE.com blog journal about her wedding to "Teddylicious" (Teddy Long) she discusses the guest list and lets us know of several guests from the WWE who are not invited. From WWE.com:

"I have to admit – there are a few WWE Superstars who definitely won’t be there. One is Ashley. Obviously with her suspension she can’t be there. And even if she was here, I wouldn’t invite her anyway because she’s a little snot.

And Candice Michelle, the Women’s Champion – I don’t have anything against her, but I don’t want anyone looking anywhere nearly as good as I will on my wedding day, so she’s definitely not invited. I don’t want that Raw Diva hogging the spotlight.

As for the guys… Most of the Superstars are invited. There’s just one … thing… I definitely know isn’t invited, and that’s Boogeyman. No way. Talk about a big N-O, no! "

I guess the last thing you want is to find worms on your wedding cake, so that definitely makes sense. But shafting divas like Ashley and Candice just doesn't make sense. In fact it makes Kristal look petty compared to in love and happy to be getting married. Let's hope Teddy puts his foot down and allows the 2 divas to attend.

What's Kristal Up To?

WWE Diva Kristal seems to be one of the happiest women on the planet. She's in the midst of planning her wedding to Smackdown General Manager, Teddy Long. She has a recent blog entry about the wedding planning at WWE.com. In the blog, Kristal discusses everything from th the wedding color theme to the "swag bag" guests will receive. Teddy Long also chimes in.

Luckily I have my best man, my right-hand-man, Ron Simmons to keep me cool under pressure. I know I made the right choice when I picked him to be my best man. "

It seems the couple is quite excited and busy. One thing people may overlook is the "friendship" between Kristal and Vickie Guerrero. This developed a while ago on Smackdown with Vickie before she was named assistant GM of the show. Vickie said she wanted a new role after her recent problems (Chavo Guerrero match losses, etc). She asked to talk to Kristal privately and we never saw what they discussed. Vickie disappeared for some time then returned to interview for the assistant position. Thanks to the fact Kristal had Teddy under a love spell, Vickie was named the new assistant. This leads to several questions regarding Vickie and Kristal's intentions.

Did Vickie convince Kristal to woo Teddy so they could hatch a greater plan? Is this going to involve Chavo Guerrero somehow? Will the wedding even go forward? My speculation is Vickie is scheming to completely take over as GM of the show. Somehow, Kristal will break up with Teddy, devastating him and making him want to leave the show for some time. Time wil tell if the marriage goes on and what Kristal and Vickie have planned.
