WWE News: Batista, Matt Hardy, More..

WWE magazine has named Batista its "Superstar of the Year" for 2007. The WWE.com site offers an interview with the Animal. Batista talks of his psat year including the Punjabi prison match at No Mercy, his book release, and his plans for the future, especially Wrestlemania 24. Read the interview here

According to PWMania, Matt Hardy was hospitalized again on December 8th due to "an absess stemming from his apendectomy". Hardy was placed on heavy antibiotics and released from the hospiatal within 4 days, so this shouldn't delay his return to action. The site also reports Ashley Massaro, now done with Survivor China, should be returning to WWE sometime soon.

The WWE Raw 15th Anniversary DVD is officially out. It includes all sorts of great moments and matches from the 15 years Raw has been on cable TV. Everything from the Stone Cold Zamboni incident to Mr. McMahon firing Eric Bischoff (and tossing him out with the trash). The DVD is currently available at the WWE Shop. WWE.com also offers information on how you can eat with the WWE superstars prior to the biggest Pay Per View of them all. The Bacon, Bagels & Biceps Brunch is a Wrestlemania tradition and will be held March 30th, 2008. For $125 you can eat and hang out with the superstars for a brunch which benefits the Make a Wish Foundation. A great way to start off your day before attending the Pay-Per-View in Florida. On the Batista as wrestler of the year story, I totally disagree with it. Cena easily deserves it. He beat Khali, Umaga, Orton, and Shawn Michaels. He literally beat everyone he wrestled this year, big events or not, and if someone tries to tell me he lost because of the injury, he still wrestled more months than Batista did this year. I like Batista, but this was a terrible choice.

Mitch, I was also surprised by this choice. I think even a guy like Shawn Michaels competed in more great matches and feuds this past year with title holders like Orton and Cena. WWE magazine also named Bobby Lashley for best pyrotechnics. I'd give that award to Batista easily, his fireworks entrance is intense!
