Raw Results 06/02/14

Raw results from Indianapolis, IN:

The opening segment featured Evolution coming to the ring with Triple H starting to talk about their new plan to take out The Shield after last night’s loss. Batista interrupted and said he doesn’t care about the plan but wants the one-on-one title match he won at Royal Rumble. Triple H said he couldn’t do that because of Daniel Bryan’s injury status. He said right now the bigger picture is eliminating Shield. Batista eventually said “I understand and I quit,” prompting HHH to go into a rage yelling at Batista as he walked up the ramp backstage.

Sheamus & Rob Van Dam defeated Bad News Barrett and Cesaro via pinfall. The close saw Cesaro leave the match with Heyman, which left Barrett alone. Sheamus eventually hit a Brogue Kick on BNB and then RVD hit a Five Star Frogsplash for the win. Heyman and Cesaro were seen watching from the stage.

Bo Dallas defeated Kofi Kingston via pinfall. The two had the match they were supposed to have at Payback that Kane had interrupted. Dallas dropped Kofi over the top rope late, then hit a running Bo-Dog for the win.

Stephanie McMahon came out to make an announcement about the World Heavyweight Championship. She said Bryan will defend the title at Money in the Bank pay-per-view against Kane in a Stretcher match. If Bryan isn’t healthy enough to compete, then the title will be up for grabs in an MITB match.

John Cena came out to interject and call out Stephanie for making a mockery of Daniel Bryan and the championship. He told her Daniel Bryan is good, really good and she is a spoiled egomaniac. He brought up that Bryan defeated him for the title a while back and she took it away from him. Eventually Stephanie got upset with it and booked Cena to face Kane in the next match.

John Cena defeated Kane via disqualification. Cena hit the Five Knuckle Shuffle, but couldn’t get Kane up in the AA. Kane ended up working over Cena in the ring corner and didn’t heed the ref’s count to stop, causing a DQ. Post-match, Kane tried to Tombstone Cena on the steel steps, but Cena got away and tossed the steps at Kane to knock him down. Cena headed backstage. Kane eventually got up and threw a rage at ringside.

Los Matadores defeated Drew McIntyre & Heath Slater via pinfall. Late in the match, Torito ripped an afro wig off Hornswoggle’s shaved head to reveal his haircut from Payback. Slater got distracted by that and was rolled up by one of Los Matadores.

Alicia Fox & Aksana defeated Nikki Bella via pinfall in a 2-on-1 handicap match. Nikki was put in the match as punishment for what Brie did last night. Late in the match, Fox hit a scissors kick on Nikki to get the win. Post-match she did some more of her antics before roughing up Nikki some more.

Adam Rose defeated Jack Swagger via pinfall. Rose dominated most of the match and hit his finisher, the Party Foul for the win. Post-match, he danced with the Rosebuds in the aisle.

Harper & Rowan defeated The Uso Brothers via pinfall. The match lasted nearly 20 minutes. Harper tried for his big clothesline late, but one of the Usos hit a Superkick instead for the near fall. Later on, Rowan managed to hit a big side slam on Jey to score the winning pinfall.

Alberto Del Rio defeated Dolph Ziggler via submission to qualify for a Money in the Bank match. Ziggler went for the finish late in this one, with Del Rio avoiding it. Del Rio tried for a Superkick but Ziggler sidestepped that. Moments later, he got the Cross Arm Breaker locked on to make Dolph tap.

Ryback & Curtis Axel defeated Goldust & Sin Cara via pinfall. Cody Rhodes was shown in a previous segment in a suit and Lawler said Cody “handpicked” a tag partner for Goldust tonight, after telling him he needed a better partner at Payback. In the match, Sin Cara missed a Swanton as Axel moved away. Axel hit his neck breaker finisher for the win.

They presented a golden star medal to Rusev in a “Hero of the Russian Federation Ceremony.” Lana introduced another man who gave the medal to Rusev and put it around his neck. Lana told fans to show respect for Russia’s national anthem. The song played forth as confetti fell from the ceiling.

The Shield came out to cut a promo about defeating Evolution at Payback. Rollins said Shield adapted and Evolution perished. He said the reason they perished is because they weren’t one like The Shield. Reigns said they are like brothers. Triple H and Orton came out to the ring area, with HHH bringing a sledgehammer. Rollins grabbed chairs, ready to fight. Hunter said on the mic he adapts better than anyone else. He said “last night was Plan A, now it’s time for Plan B.”

Suddenly, Rollins attacked Reigns from behind, hitting him with a steel chair. He hit Ambrose next and then repeatedly hit chair shots on his Shield teammates drawing a “you sold out” chant from the crowd. Rollins soon went to ringside to stand next to HHH and handed a chair to Orton. Orton got into the ring and removed Reigns vest to show his welts on the back, then he RKO’d him onto a chair. Hunter then put his arms around both Orton and Rollins and mouthed ‘I won’ as he stood over Reigns and Ambrose. He put the sledgehammer on Reigns as Raw went off the air.

2014 WWE Payback Results Coverage (Updated)

Sunday night brings the 2014 WWE Payback results live from Rosemont, Illinois. The pre-show featured a panel of Josh Matthews, Booker T, Kofi Kingston and Alex Riley on analysis. Michael Cole, JBL and Jerry Lawler were on commentary for the pay-per-view.

El Torito defeated Hornswoggle via pinfall in the hair vs. mask match during the pre-show. Late in the match, Hornswoggle survived a Bronco buster move from Torito in the corner. Torito did a handstand on the top rope to prepare for a move to kick Horney. Horny grabbed Torito for the Powerbomb to slam him to the mat instead. Torito barely kicked out, and a frustrated Hornswoggle pulled off Torito’s mask. Torito had a second mask underneath and moments later he was able to score the Bull-sault to surprise Hornswoggle. Post-match, Hornswoggle reluctantly got into the barbers chair at the bottom of the ramp area. Torito climbed up on a chair behind it and started to cut away Horny's locks with small scissors. Los Matadores assisted by handing Torito disposable razors, electronic trimmer and spraying shaving cream all over Hornswoggle's head. They didn't finish the entire cut before PPV ended.

Matthews and crew showed footage of a WWE exclusive where The Rhodes Brothers got into it backstage with RybAxel to set up a tag match for tonight's PPV. Booker announced moments later that he just got word Kofi Kingston was booked to face Bo Dallas tonight. They showed Sheamus making his way out to the ring for the opening match against Cesaro as they signed off.

Main Pay-Per-View Results:

Sheamus defeated Cesaro via pinfall to retain the US Championship. There were several big moments in the match, including Cesaro nearly hitting the Neutralizer, but Sheamus countered to hit the Irish Curse. Later, Sheamus had an Irish Cloverleaf submission locked in but Cesaro got to the ropes to break it. Later still, Cesaro was able to hit 22 revolutions on the Swing as the crowd in Chicago counted. After it, he went to grab Sheamus for the Neutralizer, but the champ grabbed Cesaro for a small package pinfall to surprise him.

RybAxel defeated The Rhodes Brothers via pinfallLate in the match, Cody went for a Disaster Kick but Ryback caught him in the Powerbomb position then threw him into Goldust. Later, Axel and Goldust were both cleared from the ring with Ryback down. Cody prepared for another Disaster Kick, but Ryback caught him on his shoulders and hit Shellshocked for the win. Post-match, Rhodes was down on the mat and Goldust got in the ring to comfort his brother. Rhodes shrugged him off then stood up still feel in the effects of the Shellshocked. Rhodes got a mic and then told Goldust “Brother to brother, you need a better tag team partner than me.”

Rusev defeated Big E via pinfall. Rusev scored a huge kick to Big E’s face late in the match to level him. Moments later, Rusev stomped on Big E’s back after getting all revved up. He followed by locking The Accolade hold on Big E. E struggled for a bit but soon tapped out to give Rusev the win. Lana got in the ring post-match to proudly smirk as Rusev hoisted his flag up.

Kofi Kingston vs. Bo Dallas was a non-contest as match never officially started. Bo Dallas did his “All you have to do is Bo-Lieve” speech. Before the two could begin, Kane’s pyro went off and his music hit as Kane walked down to the ring. Kofi and Dallas seemed like they were going to team up to take on Kane, but Dallas bailed as Kane got into the ring. Kane then responded to Kofi’s attack by decimating him on the outside and in the ring. He ultimately hit the chokeslam and a tombstone to finish Kofi off before leaving. Dallas got back in the ring to deliver his “All you have to do is Bo-Lieve” speech, then went over to check on Kofi, patting him on the chest mockingly before leaving.

Bad News Barrett defeated Rob Van Dam via pinfall to retain the Intercontinental Championship. RVD hit Rolling Thunder late when he got momentum, then set up for FiveStar Frog Splash but Barrett rolled out of the way. RVD crashed into the mat. Barrett waited for him to get up and went for a Bullhammer Elbow, but RVD ducked and countered into a near fall. Moments later, Bad News hit Winds of Change for a near fall. On the outside, Barrrett went for a strike on RVD who moved away from the ring post. Barrett hit his arm hard on the post, and then RVD hit a DDT in the ring for another near fall. RVD went for a quick moonsault but Barrett got both knees up. Bad News stood up with his arm in pain but still used it to hit the Bullhammer for the win.

Stephanie McMahon was introduced for the big decision by Daniel Bryan. She came to the ring and said it’s time to find out if Daniel will hand over the titles, or force her to fire his wife Brie Bella from WWE. She called out Bryan. His must hit and he came out with Brie with both belts in hand. The crowd started up their “Yes” chants.

Bryan talked about how Stephanie is being selfish and only wants to strip the title because he beat her husband at WrestleMania 30. He said he thinks maybe this would be a chance for Stephanie to do the ring thing for once. A CM Punk chant started up and Stephanie interrupted to say “Daniel these people want you to quit just like CM Punk did,” drawing heavy boos. Brie took the mic before Daniel could hand the belts over and said as much as it hurts her Stephanie can’t fire her because she quit. Stephanie laughed about it mockingly and Brie slapped her hard in the face. Stephanie was taken aback and quickly rushed out of the ring and up the ramp holding her face. The fans started up a huge Yes chant with Brie and Daniel Bryan helping to lead it.

John Cena defeated Bray Wyatt in a Last Man Standing match. The match included multiple big spots including Wyatt suplexing Cena through a table in the ring and Cena throwing the top of the steel steps out of the ring to knock Wyatt down at the bottom of the ramp. Both men kept getting back up though. There were also spots with run-ins by the Wyatt Family and the Usos. At one point, one of the Usos hit a huge hip splash against Rowan through a table at ringside. Later, Harper and the other Usos were battling up on the top rope, with Harper hitting a huge suplex to smash him through a table on the outside. Cena and Bray ended up battling towards the top of the ramp and near the side of it with Bray smashing Cena against some electronics to cause an explosion. Moments later, Cena managed to battle Wyatt up on top of some equipment boxes, then hit the AA to smash Bray down through the top of a flat equipment box. Bray was laying in it like a coffin as Cena went over to a larger crate and toppled it over on top of the other box so Bray could not get out or stand up. Cena won as Bray didn’t answer the 10 count.

Paige defeated Alicia Fox via submission to retain the Divas Championship. Fox dominated most of the match until Paige was able to yank her off the top rope to the mat. She followed by putting her into the Scorpion Crosslock move. Alicia eventually tapped on Paige’s knee to submit. Post-match, Paige left with her belt up the ramp while the crowd chanted “You tapped out” at Alicia. She eventually screamed “silence!” multiple times as she stomped her feet on the ring mag, then ran crying up the ramp to the back.

The Shield defeated Evolution 3-0 in a No Holds Barred Elimination match. Ambrose and Rollins were both out of it after getting beat down up the ramp, leaving Reigns vs. the entire Shield in the ring. They decimated Reigns in the ring using steel chairs, steel steps and kendo sticks to repeatedly beat him up. At one point, Reigns managed to get up and jumped over to hit a Superman punch on Batista, taking him by surprise. However, Triple H and Orton had kendo sticks to beat him down with. Shield continued beating up Reigns up the ramp with chairs and other objects. Ambrose came rushing out to intervene briefly, but all three members of Shield overpowered him.

Moments later, Rollins appeared and jumped off the jumbo screen area to take down all of Shield. Rollins crawled to the ring ahead of The Shield, with Batista getting in the ring with him. Batista looked ready to power bomb Rollins, but Reigns got in the ring and hit the huge Spear tackle, allowing Rollins to score the pinfall. Batista was first man eliminated with ten minutes left in the PPV. Orton was in the ring and quickly hit an RKO on Rollins to take the pinfall. Reigns got up and hit Orton in time to break up his pin attempt. Moments later, Ambrose was in the ring and hit his finisher with Orton onto a steel chair for the next elimination.

It was down to 3-on-1 with all of Shield against Triple H. Shield gained some control but HHH hit a low blow on Ambrose. Reigns was about to take down HHH, but Batista came back in the ring again and speared Reigns down for Triple H. Randy Orton grabbed a sledgehammer from under the ring and slid it into the ring to HHH to use. HHH prepared to use the sledgehammer, but Rollins got to him, stunning HHH. Reigns scored a huge Spear on him for the pinfall to sweep all of Evolution form the match.

Cena tried to force it open but Bray hit him from behind and The Wyatts slammed the door on John. Later, Cena was climbing up the wall only for one of the Wyatts to meet him at the top. Cena battled him to the point of knocking him down to the floor, then started to climb out, only for the other Wyatt to meet him towards the bottom of the cage with a chair. Later still, Cena managed to put a STF on Wyatt by countering Sister Abigail. Wyatt was halfway out of the cage door, but Cena managed to pull him back inside. Cena managed to hit an Attitude Adjustment off the corner, but Harper was still in the cage and broke up the pinfall.

Cena once again began to climb up the wall but was met by one of the Wyatts again. He battled him on the top of the cage wall, leaving him hanging up there. Cena managed to climb back down into the ring and knocked down Bray and the other Wyatt. With all three now out of commission, Cena began to slowly crawl to the door, then pulled himself up and started to exit. The Wyatt sound effect hit and the arena went dark. All of a sudden, a creepy voice started singing “Whole world in his hands” and the lights returned. A young boy was standing right outside the door staring at Cena singing. Cena froze in his tracks looking at the kid, before Bray rushed over and grabbed Cena to hit Sister Abigail. Post-match, Bray hugged the kid on the outside, before Harper and Rowan led the kid up the ramp to leave.

Paige defeated Tamina via submission to retain the WWE Divas Championship. During the match, Paige charged at Tamina and was able to tackle her to take her to the outside. Paige went back up on the apron and Tamina grabbed her leg. Paige stomped on her hand on the apron then went for a head scissors, only to have Tamina whip her against the crowd barrier. Back in the ring, Tamina put Paige on her shoulders and climbed the ropes with her for a move. Paige countered by power bombing Tamina off the corner for another near fall. Moments later, Paige ran the ropes and hit a flying cross body with Tamina catching her for a side slam. The finish saw Tamina go for a Superkick on Paige, but Paige caught her foot, then turned it into a Sharpshooter-style submission including pulling Tamina’s arms behind her back. Tamina soon tapped out to give Paige the match.

As Paige was celebrating her win, the Wyatts sound effect went off and the place went dark. The Wyatts showed up on the big screen with the little boy from the cage match earlier. Bray told “Little Johnny” he did very good out there tonight. Bray said his message can no longer be ignored as Cena’s hopes and dreams are trapped in a box. He handed the boy a sheep mask with the little boy putting it on before the segment went out.

Daniel Bryan defeated Kane via pinfall to retain the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in an Extreme Rules match. Daniel Bryan tried to stage an attack on Kane on the ramp as Kane was making his entrance. Kane got the upper hand and tossed Bryan into the barricade, then found a kendo stick under the ring to hit Bryan with a few times. Bryan managed to get control back in the ring by hitting a bit running knee and then clotheslining Kane out over the top rope. On the outside, Kane landed a huge boot to take down Bryan. At one point, Kane used several steel chairs in the ring and ended up side slamming Bryan onto one that was set up in a seated position. Moments later, Bryan hit a running dive out into Kane against the barricade. He pulled the top off the Spanish announce table and hit Kane with that, before ripping apart the U.S. announce table too, using pieces to hit Kane. Kane turned the tables and slammed Bryan into one of the tables then pulled monitors off the other. Kane stood up and grabbed Bryan for a chokeslam, but Bryan elbowed him off then hit a flying DDT off the table to take Kane to the floor.

Towards the end of the bout, Bryan managed to get Kane knocked down then went way across the other corner to climb up. The crowd gave a “Yes” chant as he got ready and flew off for a diving headbutt. To the crowd’s surprise Kane got a shoulder up before 3. Bryan got the crowd into another change with Kane still down. All of a sudden, Kane sat up, but Bryan ran at him for the big knee. Instead, Kane grabbed him around the throat and chokeslammed Bryan for a near fall. Later still, Bryan grabbed a steel chair and smashed it on Kane multiple times before putting him into the Yes Lock. Kane struggled looking ready to tap, but crawled over and grabbed a kendo stick to hit Bryan with. Bryan grabbed it from him and used it to put another submission hold on, but Kane pulled himself to the outside to recover. Bryan did a running dive move, but Kane caught him then chokeslammed him through the announce table.

With Kane in control on the outside, he grabbed a table and set it up on the outside then retrieved a plastic gasoline container from under the ring. Can dowsed the top of the table with the gasoline, then lit it on fire drawing plenty of cheers from the crowd. He got up on the apron to grab Bryan, but Bryan kicked him then yanked the ropes causing Kane to fall backwards through the enflamed table. Immediately, a WWE staffer rushed over to spray Kane with a fire extinguisher. Kane stumbled around near ringside then rolled back into the ring. Bryan was waiting and hit his running knee then grabbed the winning pinfall to retain the title. Post-match, Bryan celebrated with the belts up on the ramp doing his “Yes” chant with the crowd. Kane stood up looking enraged from what just happened, then threw his arms up and down to set off his pyro, staring out at Bryan as the PPV ended.

She said she thought they hired a man with no moral code, then got in his face suggesting he’s a failure. She asked what happened to “The Devil’s favorite demon and the old Kane?” Kane got up from his chair, causing Steph to back away. Post-match, Ambrose dove out of the ring onto a pile of heels and Rollins did the same. The Shield got back in the ring, and the heels followed, eventually overpowering Shield. All of a sudden, theme music played for Evolution. HHH, Orton and Batista all came out on stage. HHH took off his suit coat and tie, and the trio walked to the ring. HHH dropped his mic and his theme song played as he went backstage.

He introduced tonight’s guest celebs, Joe Manganiello and Arnold Schwarzenegger from the new movie “Sabotage.” Arnold brought up being good friends with Andre, who visited him on the “Conan” movie set a long time ago. Arnold and Joe joked about joining the Battle Royal at WM30. That brought The Miz out to interrupt who said he is a fan of Arnold’s work and assumes he is a fan of his work including “The Marine” sequel and “Christmas Bounty.” Miz vowed to win the Battle Royal and kept bragging about his win over Cena at WM27. Miz told Arnold and his co-star they don’t belong there. Manganiello told Miz if he wants them gone to make them leave. He shoved Miz, who backed away. Heyman said it will still be a noble thing that Undertaker had 21 consecutive victories at WrestleMania. He said John Cena, Andre the Giant and Brock Lesnar couldn’t accomplish that on the “grandest stage of them all.” Heyman kept on going with his speech until Lesnar took the mic and told him “enough,” he said he was there to fight and “Let’s do this.” With that, druids came out with a casket for the ringside area. They lined the aisles as Lesnar opened the casket. He saw no Undertaker and asked if it was a joke or funny. The druids went backstage and Lesnar slammed the casket shut.

Lesnar said he’s not there for games tonight. Heyman said it’s typical of Lesnar to call out Undertaker in a slum like Brooklyn and all they get is an empty casket. Suddenly, the casket opened and Taker was inside. Heyman yelled “Oh, my God!” multiple times. Taker got in the ring and the lights came back on. Taker started to throw punches towards Brock then clotheslined him out of the ring over the casket. Lesnar was upset and Heyman begged him to just walk away for now.
