2008 WWE Royal Rumble Results

The Royal Rumble has officially ended! While there were no title changes there was definitely a major surprise at the PPV! Check out the full results and recaps for each match...

Ric Flair vs MVP

Ric Flair went for several pinfall attempts on the cocky US champ MVP before getting kneed in the face. MVP had Flair set up in the Playmaker to finish him off, but Flair was able to trip him down and apply the Figure Four submission. MVP taps out and Flair wins to continue his wrestling careeer!

Winner: Ric Flair wins via submission over MVP.

Chris Jericho vs JBL

In this grudge match between former champions, it got ugly yet again. JBL went and tore the top of the announcer's table, but Jericho had grabbed a steel chair. Y2J smashed the chair over JBL causing the disqualification. After the bell, Jericho continued to attack JBL, choking him out with cable wire similar to how JBL did to him weeks ago.

Winner: JBL wins due to disqualification of Chris Jericho.

Rey Mysterio vs Edge
World Heavyweight Title

Rey put up a good fight, but it wasn't enough to take out the champ. With Rey jumping at him, Edge hit the Spear on him in mid air, then captured the pinfall victory!

Winner: Edge wins via pinfall over Rey Mysterio to retain the World Heavyweight Title.

Jeff Hardy vs Randy Orton
WWE Title Match

A great battle between the WWE champ and the challenger. Jeff Hardy seemed to have the advantage after scoring several great moves including a moonsault outside the ring and a mule kick to Orton in the corner. However, when Jeff went for the Twist of Fate, Randy Orton was able to reverse it and hit the RKO. Orton scores the pinfall to retain the WWE title!

Winner: Randy Orton wins via pinfall over Jeff Hardy to retain the WWE championship belt.

Royal Rumble Match

This year's Rumble started off with last year's final 2, Shawn Michaels and Undertaker. Both men battled fiercely but were eliminated from the match. It came down to Triple H, Batista and yes, John Cena! The former WWE champ entered the Rumble at the #30 spot and won the whole thing by tossing Triple H over the top rope. An amazing surprise for WWE fans as Cena now has a title shot at Wrestlemania 24!

Winner: John Cena wins the 2008 Royal Rumble!

Well we had a bit surprise tonight with John Cena entering and winning this year's Rumble! No title changes tonight as many may have expected. Hardy still seems destined to win the WWE title, but not tonight. Here's the way predictions went for WWE Characters Blog and Let's Wrestle Blog. Incorrect picks shown in ( ) .
