Vince, Trump & Chavo
Tonight Vince McMahon will make a cameo appearance on the latest version of Donald Trump's show, Celebrity Apprentice. If you haven't seen the show yet it features various celebrities such as Kiss rock star, Gene Simmons, actor, Stephen Baldwin, softball player, Jennie Finch and UFC fighting star, Tito Ortiz. They compete in a male versus female team environment with a different celeb being told "you're fired" each week. Tonight's show will involve Mr. McMahon somehow in the challenge and he will be on Trump's side this time, not involved in a wrestling contest. Celebrity Apprentice is Thursday on NBC at 9PM EST. The other recent news is that Chavo Guerrero is now ECW Champion. You could see it coming when the ECW show started, as Edge and Vickie Guerrero were present to "encourage" Chavo as part of their family. Once it was announced that it would be a no DQ match with Edge at ringside, that was the icing on the cake. I'm not a fan of the move, even though I respect Chavo's accomplisments as a Cruiserweight champ and wrestler in WWE. My guess now is that Ryder and Hawkins will also capture tag team gold making it a full-out "family affair". This probably happens in the coming weeks. I wouldn't be surprised if Punk is eventually competing on Smackdown or enters some sort of feud with Edge in the wake of all this.
If you haven't already, take a look at the Royal Rumble: By the Numbers. It gives stats from the history of the Rumble which are pretty interesting. Also see a profile of the newcomer to ECW, Jamaican wrestler, WWE's Kofi Kingston.
