Hulkster to Take on WWE

It has been talked about quite a bit before, that is Hulk Hogan's displeasure with Vince McMahon and the WWE. Despite the feud, Hogan made a recent appearance on WWE Raw's 15th Anniversary show. It most likely was shameless self-promotion in exchange for an appearance on behalf of WWE. During the reunion, Hogan came to the aid of Hornswoggle in a match against Great Khali, then got on the mic to remind people of American Gladiators on NBC. Now according to The Sun UK, it looks like Hogan has teamed up with a former WCW executive and Raw GM we all love to hate, Eric Bischoff.

According to The Sun UK:

He revealed: “Last night me and Eric were getting ready to sign a deal with one of the TV networks here in America.

“We had a little bit of a problem with the licensing and merchandising, which has delayed it.

“But I totally expect we’re going to sign the TV portion of this very soon, because there’s no point in starting any sort of wrestling organisation without the TV locked in place.

“Now we’re just arguing among the lawyers on how to protect the brand and the image and make sure it’s a fair deal for everybody.

“Once we’ve wrapped the TV up we’ll make the official announcement. The network want to make a really big deal of it.”

Hulk added: “The basic idea will be the same as WWE, but I pray to god it’s nothing like what’s on TV now.

So now Hogan looks to bring some "healthy competition" to the WWE and TNA. The question is can Hogan and Bischoff pull this off? It will be very tough with the stranglehold that WWE has put on all of pro wrestling, globally. However, Hogan and Bischoff may be able to round up a bunch of out of action WCW/WWE stars to bring to the ring. Bischoff is no dummy when it comes to the business world and marketing, and Hogan is definitely a big draw in most places. It will be very interesting to see how this develops in the weeks and months to come, and if the Hulkster will be able to make it work. It will also be interesting to see the time and day their new wrestling programs run, and if they attempt to take out Raw, Smackdown or ECW.
