Smackdown Preview 10.10.08
Tonight's Smackdown follows this past Sunday's No Mercy Pay-Per-View, which had several Smackdown stars in action. The major title holder on the show, Triple H, successfully defended his WWE title against Jeff Hardy in a hard-fought match. Both men gave it their all, but the Game reversed a pin at the end of the match to capture the victory. With Jeff down and out, Triple H now prepares to face his biggest competitor in some time, the Big Show. Show will take on HHH in the main event for the WWE title. Show has been operating solo as Vickie Guerrero was layed out by the Undertaker. Will Big Show capture Smackdown's title tonight, or will Triple H end Show's game?
Speaking of Big Show, he was successful in beating the Undertaker at No Mercy. The match went on for some time, until Show finally won it by knockout. It's rare that any superstar can knock out the Undertaker. With Undertaker taken out, Big Show now gets to focus on his title matchup against HHH. The question is, is the Undertaker really out of comission? Or will Undertaker make an appearance in tonight's main event on Smackdown?
Last week's premiere of Smackdown also saw more of the Shelton Benjamin vs. R-Truth feud. Benjamin took part in a champion vs. champion match when he faced Raw's IC champ, Santino Marella. During the match, R-Truth came out into the crowd and began riling up the crowd with his rap performance. The distraction allowed Santino to grab R-Truth and roll him up for a victory. With Shelton being humiliated in this way, will he call out R-Truth on tonight's show? Or will Truth come looking for the Gold Standard and a US title shot himself?
In the weeks past, Vladimir Kozlov has decimated both HHH and Hardy in the Smackdown ring. Kozlov continued to demand better competition from Smackdown, and even prepared to do battle with Great Khali. Now it seems as if Kozlov is ready to face Jeff Hardy and Triple H in the ring. Will Kozlov receive that competition he's been searching for tonight? Or will Kozlov continue to roll over his opponents?
