Raw Preview 11.10.08
Last week's Raw saw several shocking moments during its 800th episode celebration. To the dismay and shock of Shane McMahon and wrestling fans, Mike Adamle arrived to the ring and told everyone he was officially resigning as General Manager of Raw. Adamle told Shane and Randy Orton in the ring that the job corrupts individuals and he wanted no part of that. Once Adamle left, the Raw program was in the hands of Shane and Stephanie McMahon, who were both at the show. Will Shane & Stephanie continue to handle managing Raw, or will a new General Manager be named?
Last week also saw Chris Jericho regain the World Heavyweight title as he defeated Batista in a Steel Cage match. Jericho used part of the cable apparatus at the top of the cage to beat on Batista, drawing blood, and leaving him in the cage. With the title won, Jericho will now head to Survivor Series as the champion. Shane McMahon informed him earlier in the show, that the World Heavyweight champ would be defending against John Cena. With Cena set to return, will we hear from him on the Raw show? What will Batista have to say regarding his loss of the title, and will he attempt to get a rematch? What will Chris Jericho have to say about Batista and Cena?
Raw's special 800th episode also produced a #1 contender for the Intercontinental title, with William Regal winning an over-the-top rope Battle Royal. Regal eliminated Ted Dibiase from the match in sneaky fashion as he was out of the picture for sometime, then entered the match at the end to win. The current King of the Ring now will face off against Santino Marella on Raw. Santino continues to make claim to being best Intercontinental champion ever, with his Honk-A-Meter statistics. Will Regal become the new IC champ in addition to the WWE's king? Will WWE Divas Layla or Beth Phoenix play any part in the title match?
Don't forget about Randy Orton & Team Priceless. Last week, Orton was ordered to wrestle by Shane McMahon, since doctors had medically cleared Orton. Orton faced CM Punk, the man he injured months ago. During the match, Orton was ready to use the RKO to finish off Punk, but out of nowhere Team Priceless got involved. Ted Dibiase clotheslined down Punk, causing Orton to become enraged. Dibiase was taken away on a stretcher, and Team Priceless confronted Orton backstage. There were no further repercussions or retribution after the incident. How will things play out on Raw between Orton, Rhodes & Manu? Will Orton be reprimanded by WWE management, or allowed to continue on his streak of anger?
