Smackdown Recap 11.07.08

Smackdown opened with MVP hosting his in-ring show, the VIP Lounge. MVP addressed his recent losing streak in the WWE. All of a sudden, the Great Khali came to the ring to interrupt the show. Khali's translator informs MVP that Khali wants to do a "Khali Kiss Cam" segment, so Khali makes MVP leave the ring. Khali had a heavyset girl come into the ring to kiss him. A total of 3 girls rejected Khali, then finally another kisses him. Suddenly, MVP rushed back to the ring and took a cheap shot at the Great Khali.

Later, Vickie Guerrero announces that MVP has just three weeks to get a victory. If he fails to win a match in that time, MVP will have to to pay back some money from his multimillion dollar contract. Vickie then announced that tonight on Smackdown, MVP will face The Great Khali in the ring.

R-Truth vs. Shelton Benjamin
US title Match

R-Truth had yet another attempt at Shelton's US title. The match was a back and forth affair, but despite R-Truth giving all he had, Shelton was able to score a win with a pinfall to retain his United States title.

Winner: Shelton Benjamin wins via pinfall to retain the United States championship.

Jimmy Wang Yang vs. Ezekiel Jackson

Yang had little offense or chance in this match against the large bodyguard of The Brian Kendrick. Ezekiel was able to squash his opponent and win by pinfall.

Winner: Ezekiel Jackson wins by pinfall over Jimmy Wang Yang

Jeff Hardy & Triple H vs. The Miz & John Morrison

In the same week that Miz & Morrison lost to DX, they battled Triple H again, but this time with his tag partner Jeff Hardy. The match ultimately ended in disqualification as Jeff Hardy brought a steel chair to the ring and used it on both Morrison and Miz. Triple H delivered a Pedigree to the Miz with Jeff watching.

Winner: The Miz & John Morrison win by disqualification over Jeff Hardy & Triple H when Jeff Hardy used a steel chair.

Kung Fu Naki b. Curt Hawkins

Funaki, now known as Kung Fu Naki was able to score another victory on this week's show. Facing Curt Hawkins, Fu Naki used a front karate kick to eventually pin Hawkins.

Winner: Kung Fu Naki wins by pinfall over Curt Hawkins.

The Big Show came out to address the Undertaker on Smackdown. In his speech he issued a challenge to The Undertaker: a Casket Match at Survivor Series.

MVP vs. The Great Khali

Due to MVP's earlier discussion of his losing streak, and his attack on Khali in the ring, he was put into this match. The match saw Great Khali quickly dismantle the cocky MVP, eventually using his double chokeslam move to slam MVP to the mat for a pin.

Winner: The Great Khali wins via pinfall over MVP.

Brie Bella vs. Victoria

The two WWE divas faced off yet again, with Victoria still attempting to discover Brie's winning secret. Brie won the match yet again, and after her victory, Brie's "twin sister" came out from under the ring. The two divas introduced themselves as the "Bella Twins".

Winner: Brie Bella wins via pinfall over Victoria.

Undertaker vs. Vladimir Kozlov

In the main event, the undefeated Kozlov attempted to earn a WWE title shot at Survivor Series. During the match, Jeff Hardy rushed to the ring and hit Kozlov with a steel chair. The interference gave a DQ win to Kozlov. Hardy then smashed the steel chair across Undertaker, laying him out. Undertaker got up and scared Jeff to the back, then delivered a Chokeslam on Vladimir Kozlov.

Due to Vladimir Kozlov winning against Undertaker, the WWE title match for Survivor Series is set: Vladimir Kozlov faces Triple H for the WWE title.

Winner: Vladimir Kozlov wins due to disqualification over the Undertaker when Jeff Hardy interfered.
