Shane McMahon resigns from WWE

In shocking news Friday, a McMahon is reported as officially leaving World Wrestling Entertainment. According to a press release on Friday, Shane McMahon is officially resigning from his position as Executive Vice President of Global Media with WWE. The announcement was made via this press release on WWE.com:

STAMFORD, CT – Shane McMahon, Executive Vice President of Global Media, announced today he has tendered his resignation effective January 1, 2010.

Shane stated, “It has been an incredible experience to help build WWE® into a global phenomenon. However, having been associated with this organization for the majority of my life, I feel this is the opportune time in my career to pursue outside ventures.”

“Even though I am personally saddened by Shane's decision to leave the company, I am proud of the enormous contributions he has made. He will unquestionably bring passion, commitment and extensive business experience to any endeavor he pursues,” said Vince McMahon, WWE Chairman and CEO.

Shane also provided his own thoughts for the WWE Universe on Friday:

It is with great sadness that I announce my resignation from the WWE, effective January 1, 2010.

I have never even considered a future outside the walls of the WWE. However, sometimes life takes an unexpected turn and while it is the most difficult decision I have ever made, it is time for me to move on.

First and foremost, I would like to thank my father for the incredible education working with him has provided and for giving me the opportunity to play a role in building WWE into the global phenomenon that it is today. I am extremely proud to have been the 4th generation in this business, and I am grateful for everyday I was able to work along side not only my own, but the entire WWE family.

Shane goes on to thank the fans and WWE Superstars. Read the remainder of Shane's letter here.

The 39-year old Shane has been involved behind the scenes for several years, but also as part of the on-screen stories as well, with his most recent feud involving Randy Orton & Legacy. Shane started out as a referee in 1990, then was a backstage official, and then in 1998 joined "The Corporation". His other feuds included DX, Kane, Kurt Angle and his own father.

Shane's most notable contribution was when he formed the company’s Digital Media Department in 1998, which eventually created the WWE.com website (formerly WWF.com). At this time it's unknown what Shane will move into next, with some rumor sites already speculating it will be UFC/MMA. Wherever he goes, best wishes to Shane in all his future endeavors, and let's not rule out an appearance from Shane-O-Mac here or there on the shows & PPV's!

Linda McMahon for US Senate?

According to recent news reports, WWE chief executive officer Linda McMahon may be considering running for the United States Senate. A spokesman for WWE confirmed the story, saying McMahon is considering a bid for the republican nomination. Should Linda McMahon decide to run for Senate, husband Vince McMahon would take over as CEO of the company and assume her duties.

60-year old CEO Linda McMahon was appointed to a seat on the Connecticut Board of Education earlier this year by Governor Jodi Rell. Linda was once the president of WWE, and served on its Board of Directors since 1999. She's a supporter of multiple charitable organizations as well, including Make a Wish and the USO. In 2007, Multichannel News named her one of its "Wonder Women" for her outstanding contributions to cable and telecommunications industries.

Linda's been involved in the WWE biz both behind the scenes and right in the middle of the action. She made her debut during the Corporate Ministry storyline in 1999 which saw Shane McMahon turn against Vince, and Stephanie kidnapped (later revealed to be due to VInce). She was also featured in a storyline where she was confined to a wheelchair, after suffering a nervous breakdown when Vince demanded a divorce. During this story, Vince humiliated her by messing around with other women. It all culminated when Vince fought Shane McMahon in a Street Fight at Wrestlemania X-7, and Linda assisted Shane with the victory. Linda, still in her wheelchair, stood up towards the end of the match and kicked Vince in the crotch. That might be just what's needed in politics these days.

Raw Preview 05.11.09

Last week on Raw, the maniacal and revenge-hungry Randy Orton once again struck the McMahon family with a damaging attack. In the main event, it was Shane McMahon forced to take on Orton, Rhodes & Dibiase in a 3 on 1 Handicap match. Shane was on his own due to the fact that both Batista and MVP failed to win their respective matches against Dibiase and Rhodes. To make things worse, Vickie Guerrero made it clear if Batista interfered in the match, his title opportunity would be taken away at Judgment Day. Additionally, MVP would be stripped of the US Title. Shane McMahon tried his best to battle against Orton, Rhodes & Dibiase, but when he went for an elbow drop on Orton on the outside commentators' table, Orton rolled away. Shane crashed through the table and from there he was merely the victim as Orton, Rhodes & Dibiase unleashed fury on him. The demented Orton grabbed a nearby steel chair and as Rhodes/Dibiase held Shane down, Orton smashed the chair on Shane's ankle. Orton continued the torture and eventually smashed the steel steps onto Shane's ankle. When all was said and done, Batista rushed down to try to help out. Shane was taken away via a stretcher with Orton informing Batista via microphone that his Judgment Day is coming soon. Batista seems ready to strike Orton and Legacy, but will he get another opportunity prior to the Pay-Per-View? Or will Legacy find a way to gain the upperhand on The Animal?

MVP had the opportunity last week to win his singles match against Cody Rhodes, so he could join Shane McMahon in the main event match. Unfortunately, William Regal was at ringside providing guest commentary during MVP's match. With MVP knocked out of the ring at one point, William Regal walked over to the apron and swiped MVP's leg out from under him. The US Champ crashed to the floor and was unable to return to the ring, giving Rhodes the victory by countout. Montell Vontavius Porter has seemed popular since his arrival to Raw, with the Bella twins and other superstars, but obviously not William Regal. Will the 2008 King of the Ring be called out by Raw newcomer MVP? Or will Regal continue to find ways to harass the US Champ, further igniting the feud?

Another newcomer to Raw, The Miz, has continually called out John Cena now in two straight weeks since joining the show. The Miz cockily insulted and taunted the former champ, calling his acting terrible and saying that the only fans Cena has are soccer moms and their children. Miz waited and waited for Cena to come down to the ring last week, and surprisingly despite internal injuries, Cena made his way slowly to the ring to confront Miz. Unfortunately, the Big Show chose this as the perfect moment to come attack Cena in the ring, further inflaming his injuries. The Miz seems like he will only continue taunting Cena to make himself look better, but when will The Miz finally wrestle on Raw? Will John Cena be able to return to the show to shut up The Miz, or will Cena focus on finding Big Show instead?

Catch all the action of Monday Night Raw, tonight at 9PM EST on USA!

Raw Recap 04.04.09

Raw Recap from Buffalo, NY:

Raw opened with highlights of the new age of Orton beginning with his title victory over Triple H at Backlash. On Raw last week, Orton let it be known that as new WWE Champ, he will be respected by all superstars backstage. MVP came out to interrupt Orton and the two ended up in a match later in the night. Orton kicked MVP out of the ring, despite MVP showing signs of dominance. Shane McMahon rushed into the ring and attacked Orton with a Kendo stick, before Legacy arrived to chase him off. Shane appeared up in the audience where he taunted Legacy.

Randy Orton arrived to the ring carrying the WWE title for the opening match.

Shane McMahon vs. Randy Orton

Familiar foes Orton and McMahon once again met in the squared circle. As Orton waited and looked out up the ramp for Shane to come down to the ring, Shane entered from behind him and attacked. The two ended up out in the crowd area, with Shane clotheslining Orton off the ramp, then beating him in front of the audience. Shane started to gain the upperhand again after Orton beat on him some. Shane landed a flying clothesline off the crowd barrier then ripped the cover off the announce table. After setting Orton on the table, Shane got in the ring preparing to make the jump. All of a sudden, Rhodes and Dibiase rushed into the ring and began to attack.

Randy Orton got back in the ring as Rhodes & Dibiase held Shane down. As the three men were attacking, MVP rushed down to the ring to try to make the save. He had some brief offensive momentum, but the three men eventually ganged up on MVP and tossed him out of the ring so they could work on Shane more. Finally, Batista rushed down to save Shane, knocking down both Rhodes & Dibiase as Orton escaped the ring and up the ramp.

Raw GM Vickie Guerrero came out yelling that her main event would not be jeopardized by this mayhem. Vickie ordered Shane to go against Orton later on, Batista to face Dibiase, and MVP to face Rhodes. Vickie said whoever won their matches could either join Orton or Shane later on, in a "Win & You're In" stipulation.

Winner: Match stopped when Rhodes, Dibiase, MVP & Batista all got involved.

Kofi Kingston vs. Matt Hardy

Matt Hardy came to the ring wearing the same cast on his right hand that he had on last week. Michael Cole said it was a broken hand sustained in the I Quit match against Jeff Hardy. Matt took a mic once again to say he filed a complaint about being forced to wrestle with a broken hand, so he's wrestling under protest tonight.

In a good back and forth match, Matt had control as he suplexed Kofi to the mat. Kofi reversed Matt's next suplex attempt into a neckbreaker, then got up to start his momentum. Kofi finally got himself the advantage as he slammed Matt to the mat, then did his double leg drop on him. Matt kicked out at a 2 count and tried to whip Kofi to the ropes. Kofi came back and ducked Matt's clothesline, then hit the Trouble in Paradise spinning kick to Matt's head to win it.

As Kofi came down from the corner after celebrating his win with the fans, Matt Hardy caught him with a hard clothesline using his cast to level Kofi.

Winner: Kofi Kingston wins via pinfall over Matt Hardy.

Backstage, Santino Marella was talking to Kelly Kelly about how she'll be tag-teaming with Santina on WWE Superstars. Santino said his sister won't be on Raw tonight due to the swine flu scare and since GM Vickie Guerrero is kind of like a pig herself. Chavo Guerrero walked up and wasn't happy with Santino's comments. He asked Santino if he was talking about his aunt. Santino pretended to apologize then insulted Vickie again before walking off.

Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler discussed John Cena's physical condition following what happened to him at Backlash from Big Show. Highlights were shown of Big Show tossing Cena into the huge light near the ramp which put Cena down for 10, and allowed Edge to win the title. Last week on Raw, Cena surprisingly showed up during the Big Show's match against Batista. Big Show was counted out due to Cena's appearance distracting him, and Batista won the #1 Contender's spot for the WWE Title.

Big Show was shown backstage as he headed into Vickie's office. Show told Vickie he wants to end Cena's career tonight. Vickie said Cena has internal injuries and will be out another two weeks. Vickie said Show can have Cena at Judgment Day to get out all his frustrations.

Backstage, the Bella Twins rushed up to MVP saying how they loved him on The View. Both Twins were hitting on him and asked him out. MVP said sure, but first he has a match to go win, and headed off with his US Title.

MVP vs. Cody Rhodes

Former Raw GM & 2008 King of the Ring, William Regal joined Cole & Lawler on commentary. Highlights were shown again of MVP interrupting Orton & Legacy last week on Raw in his debut.

Rhodes managed to gain control by kicking MVP in the leg hard, then wrenching MVP's left leg to keep him down. Shane McMahon was shown watching backstage. MVP started to fight back with punches to Rhodes, then elbows from the corner. MVP was able to throw Rhodes over him at one point, and hit a Facebuster, before hitting the elbowdrop. Rhodes rolled to the outside, and MVP went out to collect him. As Rhodes was back in, MVP got onto the apron. William Regal walked over and clipped MVP's leg, causing MVP to fall on the apron then to the outside. Regal stood watching MVP as the ref counted him out.

Cody Rhodes will now join Randy Orton against Shane McMahon.

Winner: Cody Rhodes wins due to countout of MVP.

Highlights were shown of a dance off that Cryme Tyme hosted on Smackdown between WWE Divas Layla and Eve. The crowd chose Eve as the winner, and afterwards Layla slapped her. Cryme Tyme had to hold the two divas apart.

Lillian Garcia introduced Jerry Lawler who was in the ring. Lawler talked about the dance-off on Smackdown and said now Raw will have a sing-off between Jillian and Festus. Jillian began singing in her usual awful style with members of the crowd booing and holding their ears. Lawler introduced Festus, but he just stood their in a stupor not moving or singing. Jillian kept acting like she won the contest, but Lawler said Festus needs to sing. He handed Festus a mic and told someone to ring the bell. As the bell rang, Festus began singing the Annie song "Tomorrow" to the crowd's amusement. The crowd then cheered to pronounce Festus winner of the contest. Lillian begged Lawler to give her another chance as he went back to his commentator's seat. Just then, The Miz arrived from backstage down to the ring where Festus was still standing with a mic in his hand.

The Miz positioned Festus' hand in a Loser "L" on Festus' forehead. Miz then kicked Festus in the gut and tossed him out of the ring. Miz again called out Cena, saying Cena is scared of him. Miz asked Cena where his hustle, loyalty and respect went. Miz challenged Cena to another match, saying his fans were asking for him. Cena appeared on the Titantron all of a sudden, appearing backstage. Cena started on his way backstage out to the ring with Miz acting ready for him. Raw took a commercial break and when the show returned, Miz was still talking on the mic.

Miz asked the crowd if they are really booing him when Cena's still not out there. Miz continued taunting Cena saying he mailed Cena's latest script to the Rock to use as toilet paper. Miz called himself the biggest superstar on Raw. After several moments, Miz called himself winner again, saying the score is now Miz 2, Cena 0. Miz told Lillian to announce him winner, but she didn't, so Miz went out and grabbed the mic from her. Just then, John Cena's theme music came on and Cena came walking out gingerly onto the ramp. Cena got all the way down to the ring to confront Miz, but just then Big Show's music came on. Show arrived down the ramp to the ring staring at Cena. Miz exited the ring as Show got in with Cena.

Cena prepared for a fight as he and Show stared at one another. Show smirked before kicking Cena in the gut, then beating him up more despite Cena's injured status. Show punched Cena in the head, then put Cena in a vicious submission hold to further punish him before standing over the knocked out superstar.

When Raw returned highlights were shown of what Big Show just did to Cena in the ring. Cole and Lawler discussed how this will be a major setback for Cena heading into Judgment Day. Lillian introduced "Jared the Subway Guy" as special ring announcer to announce the divas match.

Mickie James vs. Maryse

Divsa Champion Maryse fought in her first solo diva match since being drafted to Raw. Maryse tried to cockily pose near the ropes as the bell rang, and Mickie started the beatdown. Maryse was able to recover on the outside and eventually gain momentum. In the ring, Maryse put Mickie into her submission hold, which Mickie soon escaped. Mickie came back to go shot for shot against Maryse, eventually dropkicking her in the face. Mickie eventually caught Maryse with a hard DDT to take the pinfall victory. Mickie flicked her hair up as she looked down at Maryse then posed as if she would be taking the divas title soon.

Winner: Mickie James wins via pinfall over Maryse.

Batista was shown psyching himself up backstage for his upcoming match against Ted Dibiase.

"Rescue Me" by Buckcherry will the official theme song for WWE's 2009 Judgment Day PPV.

Batista vs. Ted Dibiase

Dibiase was attacking a lot early as he continually kicked Batista on the mat. The Animal quickly recovered to slam Dibiase down, then clotheslined him down. Batista missed on a kick to Dibiase's head, allowing Dibiase to regain control. With The Animal down, Dibiase tried for a pinfall with no luck. Dibiase landed a neckbreaker on Batista, but again failed at the pinfall. Dibiase used a sleeper hold on Batista down on the mat, with Batista standing up and ramming Dibiase back to a corner to break it up.

Batista took control of Dibiase in the corner ramming into his midsection and kicking him. The ref broke things up telling Batista to move away, and Dibiase slapped Batista. This further angered The Animal and Batista went wild attacking Dibiase in the corner. The ref continued warning Batista to stop, then made a 5 count and finally called for the bell. Dibiase won due to the referee disqualifying Batista.

Ted Dibiase will now join Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes to take on Shane McMahon in a 3-on-1 Handicap match.

Winner: Ted Dibiase wins due to disqualification of Batista by the referee.

Backstage, Chavo told Vickie he would handle Santino for her. Chavo then said they need to focus on the main event with Shane vs. Legacy and make sure that Batista & MVP don't interfere. Chavo said if he were GM he'd strip MVP of the US title if he interfered, and if Batista got involved he'd take away his title match at Judgment Day. Vickie didn't really say anything, but Chavo said he was glad she agreed and headed off to tell Batista & MVP Vickie's decision.

Carlito vs. The Brian Kendrick

Primo came out with Carlito from backstage, but Carlito told him he could handle Kendrick alone. Primo headed backstage. Carlito dominated early on, but as he went for the springboard off the top rope, Kendrick caught him with a kick to the head. Kendrick went for Sliced Bread but as he got to the corner, Carltio shoved Kendrick into it. With Kendrick seated in the corner, Carlito hit the Backstabber, then dragged Kendrick over to the center of the ring for the pinfall.

Winner: Carlito wins via pinfall over The Brian Kendrick.

Highlights from Smackdown's Fatal Fourway #1 Contender Match were shown between Chris Jericho, Jeff Hardy, Rey Mysterio & Kane. Chris Jericho eliminated Kane by pinfall after Jeff's Swanton Bomb. Jericho was DQ'd next after he threw a chair at Rey Mysterio. It came down to Rey vs. Jeff with both men going back and forth. There were several reversed pin attempts. Jeff hit 619, and a Hurricanrana, but Jeff managed to reverse the pinfall to win it.

Backstage, Cody Rhodes and Ted Dibiase talked strategy with Orton in the locker room.

Footage was shown of MVP vs. Dolph Ziggler with the US title on the line, and Sherri Shepherd from The View in MVP's corner. Sherri got on the apron at one point and slapped Ziggler in the face. MVP was able to retain the US title. MVP will appear on The View Tuesday morning.

Highlights were revisited of MVP and Batista's losses earlier in the night. Shane McMahon was shown backstage heading to the ring when Batista rushed up to apologize to him for losing earlier. Batista promised Shane in 2 weeks he's going to take the WWE title from Orton and avenge all he's done to the McMahon's. Shane walked off with Batista telling him to be safe.

Shane McMahon vs. Cody Rhodes, Ted Dibiase & Randy Orton
3 on 1 Handicap Match

As the bell rang, Shane tried for the quick attack against Cody Rhodes. Shane leveled Rhodes with a clothesline, and started to go after him, but Rhodes was able to back him to his tag partners' corner. Rhodes was able to gain control against Shane by tossing him to the mat, and eventually tagged Orton. Shane was able to start taking control against Orton with a series of jabs. Orton finally was forced to tag in Dibiase. Orton ran outside the ring with Shane chasing. As Orton slid back inside, Shane followed, but Dibiase was there to clothesline him.

Dibiase seemed to be in control, but Shane responded. Dibiase whipped Shane to the corner, but Shane quickly ran back and clotheslined Dibiase down. Dibiase tried to crawl away for a tag, but Shane stopped him. At one point, Shane rushed over and knocked Rhodes and Orton off the apron. Shane gained control over Dibiase and hit an elbow drop off the corner with Orton watching. Shane had the pin, but Rhodes rushed in to break things up. Eventually Shane went to the outside and began to attack both Rhodes & Dibiase, tossing them into the apron and steps. Shane grabbed a nearby chair, but as he went to hit Rhodes, Orton attacked Shane from behind. Orton tossed Shane into the ring, then tossed Dibiase in so he could tag in. Orton came in and methodically stomped away at Shane's body parts.

Rhodes soon tagged back in and missed on a backflip off the corner as Shane moved away. Rhodes managed to tag Dibiase back in who immediately attacked Shane in the corner. Shane made a comeback to again clothesline Dibiase down. Dibiase kicked Shane away as he grabbed his leg. At one point, Shane cleared the ring of Orton, Rhodes and Dibiase as they all got into the ring. Shane ripped the commentators' table cover off and all the TV monitors. From there he placed Orton on the table and went for a jump off the corner. Orton rolled away and Shane crashed through the table breaking it. Legacy pulled Shane over to the steel steps and placed his foot on them, as Orton grabbed a steel chair. Orton told Shane he couldn't stay out of his business so now he's going to pay. Orton smashed the chair across Shane's ankle causing him to yell out in pain. From there, they further punished Shane's ankle and foot by smashing the steel steps down on him. Orton had an evil look in his eye as he watched Shane suffering in pain, grabbing his ankle.'

Batista rushed down to chase off Legacy, as medical staff helped get Shane into a leg cast and onto a stretcher to roll him out. Randy Orton took a mic to address Batista in the ring, saying his Judgment Day is coming. The Animal screamed for Orton to come to the ring now so they could settle things, but Orton dropped the mic and stood ground. The medical staff wheeled Shane up the ramp with Orton still staring down at Batista.

Winner: No winner announced as Legacy began to give Shane a beatdown outside the ring with various objects.

Raw Preview 05.04.09

Last week on Raw, The Animal Batista was able to become #1 Contender for Randy Orton's WWE Title. Batista did so by defeating Big Show in a singles contest, thanks to a bit of a distraction from John Cena. Now Batista will move on to the Judgment Day Pay-Per-View in several weeks to challenge Orton for the gold. Meanwhile, Randy Orton will once again be face-to-face with one of the McMahon's, as Shane McMahon steps into the squared circle with him tonight. Orton was attacked by Shane on last week's show with a Kendo stick, interrupting Orton's match with MVP. Now "The Viper" will look to extract revenge and further punish the McMahon's. Will Orton once again Punt kick Shane out of action? Or will Shane be able to avenge the heinous acts Orton has committed against his family?

MVP also made his bold debut on the Raw show as he showed up to interrupt Orton at the start of the program. MVP made sure Orton and the rest of the WWE Universe knew just who he was, before he insulted and taunted Legacy. Orton decided to have Vickie Guerrero schedule a matchup on Raw so he could show MVP just whose show Raw is. MVP had a good showing against Orton in his first official matchup on Raw, but the United States Champ was kicked out of action by Orton, right before Shane McMahon got involved. MVP was also successful recently on his old stomping ground of Smackdown as he defended his United States Title against Dolph Ziggler. Things seem to be poppin' for the Ballin' superstar now that he's moved to Raw, but will his success continue? Who will step up first to challenge MVP on his new Raw roster?

Also, last week's main event was disrupted by the surprise arrival to the ramp of a battered and bruised John Cena. Cena recently was a victim of a vicious throw by Big Show, which hurled the former champ into a huge spotlight near the ramp. This of course knocked out Cena for a 10 count, allowing Edge to regain the World Heavyweight Title. Cena's appearance on Raw also cost Big Show a shot at Randy Orton's WWE Title, as Batista was able to get back in the ring before the 10 count, while Show could not. Show definitely seemed angered by Cena's appearance and distraction, but Cena can't be near finished with Big Show after what happened at Backlash. Will these two collide again on Raw or be thrust into an upcoming match?

Tune into Raw tonight at 9PM EST on USA for all the action and more!

Raw Preview 04.27.09

Last night's Backlash Pay-Per-View definitely changed the Raw scene as the WWE fans know it. In the two main event matches, each of the two major titles that were on Raw were up for grabs, and both titles changed hands. First off, Randy Orton's plan finally helped him achieve the WWE Title, when he and his Legacy team effectively outdid Team HHH. Outside the ring, Rhodes and Dibiase managed to handle Shane and Batista, leaving HHH in the ring for Orton. When HHH looked to his pal Batista for the assist, Batista was unable to help, and Orton was able to score the moves to finally beat HHH for his title. After the RKO and a final Punt Kick to HHH's head, Orton has now become WWE Champion, which he stated as the final piece of his master plan for revenge on HHH. The question now becomes who will step up to challenge Orton first? Also, will Batista, Shane and HHH once again have differences amongst them that need to be resolved?

In the other main event match, Edge was able to re-capture the World Heavyweight title from John Cena in a Last Man Standing Match. He and Cena battled each other in a grueling match inside, outside and around the ring, as well as into the crowd and up the ramp. Edge didn't exactly win the match on his own doing though, as a former friend/nemesis showed up to assist. The Big Show came out to once again knock out an opponent, but this time costing Cena the championship. Show chokeslammed the champ through a nearby light, and that was enough to keep Cena down for the ten count. Edge now celebrates as he brings the title back to Smackdown. But the former champion Cena left the arena on a Stretcher with a neckbrace on. With Cena's status in question, it now seems like Big Show is pulverizing just about everyone he comes into contact with, from Rey Mysterio to Undertaker, to now John Cena. Will Big Show explain his motivation for the latest attack on Cena? And will John Cena be present on Raw to confront him, or will he be recovering from the vicious attack?

In a moment of comic relief during Backlash, "Santina" Marella made her highly-anticipated appearance on the Khali Kiss Cam. When Santina arrived to the ring she claimed she couldn't kiss The Great Khali, because she was really in love with someone else. Santina then confessed her undying love for commentator Jim Ross, much to JR's dismay. After Khali asked Santina to kiss JR to prove her love, Beth Phoenix and Rosa Mendes came to the ring to intervene. Beth told them to stop the nonsense and demanded that Santina grant her a chance at her Miss Wrestlemania crown. Unfortunately for Beth, she also made the mistake of insulting the Great Khali, prompting Khali to chop her down just as the bell rang to start the match. Santina took a very quick pin and retained her Miss Wrestlemania crown. Beth Phoenix won't be too happy with the results, but will she take it out on her boyfriend Santino, or the suspicious sister, Santina on Raw?

Tune in to Raw tonight at 9PM EST for all the follow up from the exciting Backlash PPV! See full results from Backlash here!

Smackdown Recap 04.24.09

SmackDown recap from London, England:

After the opening pyrotechnics display, Jim Ross and Todd Grisham welcome fans to Smackdown and announce two matches scheduled for tonight: Big Show vs. Undertaker, and Batista/Shane McMahon versus Cody Rhodes & Ted Dibiase of Legacy.

Edge came to the ring to discuss his upcoming World Heavyweight Title match against John Cena at Backlash. The Rated-R Superstar Edge discussed his recent Con Chairto followed by a 10 count on a knocked out John Cena on Raw. Edge told the WWE Universe he might admire Cena if he didn't hate him so much, and promised to be the Last Man Standing at Backlash.

Highlights were shown of Matt Hardy's various assaults and attacks on his brother Jeff.

CM Punk & Jeff Hardy vs. Matt Hardy & Kane

CM Punk worked well with Jeff as the tag partners took the fight at Kane, knocking him to the mat several times. Kane made a comeback and was able to dish out some punishment as well. At one point, the Hardy's began to fight in the ring, with each brother having the advantage at different points. CM Punk dove through the ropes onto Kane as things got more frantic. Towards the end when Jeff knocked heads with Kane, it allowed Matt to roll up his brother for the pinfall victory.

Winner: Matt Hardy & Kane win via pinfall over CM Punk & Jeff Hardy.

Undertaker vs. Big Show

Undertaker was able to attack Big Show throughout, but Show continued to pummel the Deadman. As the match went on, Undertaker gained momentum and went for Old School off the ropes. Show countered it with one knockout punch, then a second to the back of Undertaker's head. The referee eventually called for the match to stop since Undertaker couldn't continue. After the Big Show had been celebrating his win, Taker was back on his feet ready to fight more. The Deadman connected on a punch to Show sending him out of the ring.

Winner: The Big Show wins due to the referee's decision, stopping the match as Undertaker was unable to continue.

Gail Kim vs. Maryse
WWE Divas Championship

Last week Gail Kim was able to defeat Maryse, albeit a non-title matchup. On tonight's show Gail again went for victory but this time with Maryse's Divas championship up for grabs. In the match, Gail tried to use her high flying skills and attacks but the Divas champ was ready for her. Maryse punished Gail with her favorite submission hold, similar to the Boston Crab. In the end, Maryse used her French Kiss finisher to slam Gail down and pin her, retaining the Divas title.

Winner: Maryse wins via pinfall over Gail Kim to retain the WWE Divas Championship.

Footage was shown of MVP's appearance on The View.

MVP vs. Chavo Guerrero

Chavo Guerrero looked to earn back the respect of his family name as he faced another former Smackdown star, MVP. In this match, Chavo used technical skills on the mat to keep MVP down, trying to wear him down in various holds. Unfortunately, Chavo was no match for the US Champ, who was able to hit the Playmaker on Chavo to score the pinfall victory.

MVP's victory celebration was shortlived as Dolph Ziggler showed up on the ramp. Ziggler cockily challenged MVP to a US title match next week and claimed he'll take the title then. MVP accepted and held up his belt reminding Dolph who the champ is.

Winner: MVP wins via pinfall over Chavo Guerrero.

Shane McMahon & Batista vs. Cody Rhodes & Ted Dibiase

2/3 of each team for this Sunday's Backlash Six Man Tag, squared off on Smackdown. Batista and Shane seemed to be on the same page for this one, working together. At one point they performed a double suplex together on Cody Rhodes, and Batista eventually hit a Spinebuster on Rhodes which allowed Shane to score the winning pinfall. Shane and Batista held up their arms together to celebrate the victory heading into Backlash this Sunday.

Winners: Shane McMahon & Batista win via pinfall over Cody Rhodes & Ted Dibiase.

Raw Recap 04.20.09

Raw Recap from London, England:

Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler welcomed fans to London, England and reminded everyone of tonight's No DQ match between Triple H and Randy Orton. Lillian Garcia introduced Chris Jericho who arrived out to the ring in a business suit. Lawler and Michael Cole promoted "The Wrestler" DVD starring Mickey Rourke which is on sale Tuesday.

Jericho discussed how he felt isolated amongst all the parasites and liars of WWE Raw. Jericho said he feels much better now that he's been drafted to Smackdown, since tonight will be his last appearance ever for Raw. Jericho said without him on Raw things won't be so good, and fans will be begging for his return 6 months later, but he won't do it. Jericho said he was done and prepared to leave the ring, but just then Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat arrived out to confront him.

Steamboat told Jericho he was wrong and that during Wrestlemania weekend the fans showed him plenty of appreciation. Steamboat thanked Jericho for bringing back a feeling he hasn't felt in some time; the passion to perform. The Dragon said if not for Jericho, he'd never have been at Wrestlemania or back on Raw. Jericho began accusing Steamboat of trying to bask in the spotlight one more time. Jericho said both Steamboat and the fans are delusional. Jericho challenged Steamboat to a one-on-one match for Backlash. Before Steamboat could accept, John Cena's music hit and the champ arrived to the ring.

Jericho told Cena he's done with him and Raw, so he doesn't care what he has to say. Jericho said his last act on Raw will be a walkout on Cena. Jericho exited the ring to fans chanting "Na Na Na Na, Hey Hey, Good-bye". As Jericho was halfway up the ramp, Steamboat told him he accepted. Jericho smirked as he started to walk again. Cena stopped him and said he wasn't there to defend Steamboat, but instead to tell Jericho that he'll be wrestling tonight, against Cena.

Michael Cole said Rey Mysterio's final appearance tonight will be one-on-one with Big Show.

Chavo Guerrero was in the ring to let fans know he'd officially been drafted to Raw. Chavo thanked Vickie the new GM of Raw, and said he would prove to her he can push around anyone on the Raw roster. Just then, Batista's music hit and The Animal arrived onto the ramp as the crowd went wild.

Batista vs. Chavo Guerrero

After the bell rang the two men stared at each other from across the ring. Chavo charged at Batista full force, but met a boot which leveled him. Batista picked up Chavo quickly and hit the Batista Bomb, then scored the winning pinfall.

Winner: Batista wins via pinfall over Chavo Guerrero.

As Batista was heading up the ramp, Chavo got on the mic and began apologizing to his Aunt Vickie for the loss, saying he wasn't ready. Chavo tried to pull himself up by the ropes, as Batista headed back to the ring. Chavo got up and saw Batista there, then told him he was ready. Batista wasn't having it and grabbed Chavo for another Batista Bomb.

Backstage, Shane walked up to Batista to congratulate him on the victory. Batista began saying last week things got out of control. Shane said he wanted to make sure they're on the same page for Backlash. The two had a brief exchange about last week's incident where Batista shoved Shane, and Shane dropkicked him out of the ring.

CM Punk vs. Kane

Highlights were shown of Kane nearly winning Wrestlemania's MITB match, but CM Punk knocked him off the ladder and grabbed the briefcase. Both of these competitors have now been drafted onto Smackdown. Early on Punk did a Springboard jump off the side ropes at Kane, who caught him with an uppercut. Kane continued the punishment on Punk with a dropkick and headlock. Punk began kicking back and went for the Bulldog, but Kane shoved him away. Punk went for GTS but Kane avoided it and booted him down. Kane prepared for a Chokeslam and grabbed Punk around the throat, but Punk countered it into a rollup pinfall.

Winner: CM Punk wins via pinfall over Kane.

Santino Marella came down to the ring to discuss how he lost to Khali last week, so his sister will have to kiss Khali on the Kiss Cam for Smackdown. Santino said he wanted to call out his sister Santina to apologize for losing. Santino waited for several moments but Santina wasn't coming out. Her music came on and then Santina appeared on the Titantron. Santino and she began to have a fake exchange, with the taped version eventually speeding up on him. During the promo, Santina tried to say she had a blister on her mouth which would prevent her from having to kiss Khali on Smackdown. Beth Phoenix came to the ring with Rosa Mendes and told Santino she spoke with GM Vickie Guerrero. Vickie said she'd set aside time at Backlash for the Khali Kiss Cam so Santina could still kiss Khali. Santino was angered over this and told Beth she better hope she wins back her Womens title tonight. Melina came down to the ring for the match.

Melina vs. Beth Phoenix
WWE Womens Championship

With the match underway, Beth grabbed Melina onto her shoulder and powerslammed her to the mat. Beth grabbed Melina up in a Torture Rack type move on her shoulders, with Melina eventually elbowing out. Beth rammed Melina into the corner and then bent her leg back to kick Melina in the head with her own foot.

Melina turned the match back around in her favor. Rosa Mendes got up on the apron to yell at Melina. Melina came over to get in her face and Beth tried to charge at Melina. Melina moved out of the way and Beth rammed into Rosa knocking her off the apron. The distraction allowed Melina to do a Sunset Flip type slam/pin move to defeat Beth and retain her title.

Winner: Melina wins via pinfall over Beth Phoenix to retain the WWE Women's Championship.

Triple H was shown preparing in the locker room. Shane McMahon came in to shake hands and wish HHH good luck. Shane reminded HHH they need to be careful at Backlash because if HHH loses his cool and gets counted out or DQ'd, then he loses the title to Orton. Triple H told Shane it won't be a problem because he'll get all his anger out tonight.

Chris Jericho was shown walking backstage ready for his match against Cena.

As Raw returned Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler discussed the upcoming Backlash PPV in Providence, Rhode Island, with Cena versus Edge in a Last Man Standing Match.

John Cena vs. Chris Jericho

Early on Jericho started on Cena in the corner kicking him and punching him. Jericho slammed Cena back, then started taunting him. After knocking Cena down off the ropes, Jericho kicked him in the midsection and kept up the taunting. Cena tried to mount a comeback, but Jericho stayed in control, again knocking him down.

At one point the crowd really got into it as Cena and Jericho exchanged punch after punch. Cena hit the Five Knuckle Shuffle and went for the Attitude Adjustment. Jericho countered it to DDT Cena to the mat, but failed at the pinfall. Cena got onto the apron at one moment, and Jericho tried to jump off the corner at him. Cena caught him on his shoulders, but Jericho elbowed out then jumped with Cena from the apron, smashing Cena into the steps. Both men were layed out outside the ring as Raw went to commercial.

When Raw returned Jericho again had regained control in the ring. Jericho went for Walls of Jericho but Cena countered to flip him away with his legs. Cena again tried to hoist Jericho up, but this time from the corner. Jericho got him into the Electric Chair and slammed Cena back. Cena went for he Lionsault off the ropes but missed. Again Cena got Jericho up and was going for the Attitude Adjustment, but Jericho flipped off, then hit the Codebreaker. Jericho had a near fall, and the match continued. Jericho was able to lock in the Walls of Jericho eventually, causing Cena excruciating pain. Cena was able to counter it and flip Jericho off of the hold. Cena locked on the STF but Jericho pulled his way to the ropes. Cena stood up to pull him back, but Jericho got up and hit a spin kick to Cena's head.

Cena and Jericho got up on the corner with Cena trying for a suplex. Jericho kept trying to fight out. Suddenly, Edge rushed to the ring and got on the apron, then shoved both men. Jericho went flying off to the outside, and Cena fell to the mat. From there, Edge beat on Cena and eventually Speared him down. With Cena KO'd, Edge went to the outside and retrieved two chairs, then positioned one under Cena's head. Edge delivered the Con-Chairto, and then did a promo for the Last Man Standing match, counting to 10 to show how he'd beat Cena for the title.

Winner: Match interrupted by Edge's interference. DQ win for Cena.

Footage was shown from during the break from the aftermath of Edge's attack on Cena. Several referees had to help Cena from the ring and up the ramp.

Rey Mysterio vs. Big Show

Highlights were shown from the Jeff Hardy vs Big Show match on Smackdown. Jeff was making a strong comeback but his brother Matt came to the ring and attacked, preventing a win.

Early on, Big Show completely manhandled his smaller opponent, leveling Mysterio then lifting him to the corner for a hard chest slap. Mysterio fell to the outside with Show smirking in the ring. Rey got into the ring and began using his quickness. Rey was able to hit a 619 and kick Big Show in the spine. Again, Rey used his speed and knocked Show into the ropes. Rey quickly went for the 619, but Show caught his legs. Big Show walked over with Rey in his grasp, then delivered a nasty knockout punch on Rey. With Rey KO'd on the mat, Show took the winning pinfall.

After Show's win, Rey remained on the mat with the referees checking on him. Cole and Lawler looked over highlights.

Winner: Big Show wins via pinfall over Rey Mysterio.

WWE Slam of the Week showed highlights from Shane McMahon versus Cody Rhodes on WWE Superstars last Thursday. Shane was DQ'd for bashing a steel chair on Rhodes. With the match over, Shane went Coast to Coast to kick a trash can into Rhodes in the corner.

Cole and Lawler reviewed Batista's victory over Ted Dibiase on Smackdown. Dibiase was shown in the locker room as Rhodes asked him how his back was. Rhodes and Dibiase discussed their Backlash match, but Dibiase started to make a point that their leader needs to be a champion. Orton came in just then to interrupt and talked about why they will be the winning team at Backlash. Orton also guaranteed that he'd beat Triple H tonight.

Triple H vs. Randy Orton
No DQ Match

The two future Backlash opponents met in a Wrestlemania rematch. Early on, Triple H began his venting as he took Randy Orton to the mat and continued to pummel him. HHH knocked Orton to the outside, but as he went out, Orton gained the upperhand. Triple H turned things around as he whipped Orton into the crowd barrier. HHH ripped the cover of the commentators' table and began punching Orton on top of it. Orton counted by smashing HHH's head into the table. Orton brought a trash can over to go at HHH, but HHH kicked him. The two countered each other back and forth, and eventually took things back into the ring.

Triple H made a comeback with a high knee to Orton off the ropes and eventually clotheslined Orton to the outside. Orton stumbled around and grabbed a trash can, then hid by the side apron. HHH came over to grab him and Orton smashed the trash can into his skull, causing HHH to hit the mat. Raw went to commercial break.

Raw returned with Orton in control as he whipped HHH into the steel steps. With HHH back in the ring, Orton grabbed the steel steps and brought them in to smash into HHH's head. HHH barely got his arm out as Orton tried to pin him for 3. Orton continued trying to destroy Triple H, and set him up for a DDT onto some steel steps outside the ring. HHH managed to counter it and slammed Orton's back onto the steps. Back in the ring, HHH regained control and punched away at Orton, then drove Orton's face into his knee.

The Game tried to put Orton away with a steel chair, but Orton countered him and DDT'd HHH into the chair. Orton stumbled to the corner and prepared for the Punt kick. HHH avoided it and then ran over to clip Orton's leg. HHH then got to the outside and smashed Orton's leg against the ringpost. HHH followed with a huge chair shot to Orton's leg. Triple H got back in the ring to eventually slap a Figure Four leglock on Orton. Orton withstood it and got to the ropes to break things up.

As Triple H continued trying to destroy Orton, he used a steel chair to put around Orton's ankle. All of a sudden, Legacy rushed to the ring to attack HHH. Shane rushed down next to try to make a save, but he was soon overpowered. Then, Batista rushed down to try to help. Batista seemed to clear the ring, but at one point he became blinded. Batista went for a spear on Cody Rhodes but instead got Shane McMahon. Triple H saw it and confronted Batista. Batista told him it was an accident, then shoved HHH to the side as Ted Dibiase came at them. Batista knocked Dibiase out of the way. As the melee continued, Shane and Batista both were knocked outside with Rhodes and Dibiase. Orton capitalized on the distractions and hit an RKO on HHH to win it.

Winner: Randy Orton wins via pinfall over Triple H.

Here's the results from WWE Superstars:

Shane McMahon vs. Cody Rhodes

Two opponents from the upcoming Backlash PPV's Six Man Tag match faced off in one of Superstars' first matches. Both men had control of the match back and forth, with Shane using his legs to squeeze Rhodes on the mat at one point. Rhodes made a comeback beating up McMahon and stomping on him outside the ring. At another instance, the referee warned Cody for trying to use a steel chair in the match. Shane McMahon grabbed the chair and ended up using it, disqualifying himself. Winner: Cody Rhodes wins due to disqualification over Shane McMahon.

Christian vs. Finlay
ECW Elimination Chase Finals

Hornswoggle who was recently drafted to Raw, accompanied Finlay to the ring. Raw Recap 04.13.09 - WWE Draft

Raw Recap from Atlanta, GA:

Tonight's special 3 hour Raw presented the 2009 WWE Draft special during which WWE personnel, superstars and divas from all three brand rosters (Raw, ECW, Smackdown) were eligible to be drafted to a new roster.

Raw opened with highlights of Randy Orton's tirade on last week's Raw, his match against Vince McMahon, Shane rushing out to save Vince from a punt kick, Triple H coming down to save Shane, and Batista's return to save HHH and Shane from Legacy's attack. Raw ended after Batista had helped clear the ring, and Vince McMahon announced Batista would be part of the six man tag match at Backlash (Orton, Rhodes & Dibiase vs. Shane McMahon, Triple H & Batista).

Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler welcomed fans to the Phillips Arena. Lawler explained that superstars would compete in interbrand matches, with the winning wrestler's brand getting the draft pick following the match. Todd Grisham and Jim Ross were there from Smackdown as were Josh Matthews and Matt Striker from ECW. Matthews announced that there will be a 15 person battle royal involving 5 stars from each brand. The winning superstar's brand receives 2 draft picks. Also tonight, John Cena from Raw versus Jack Swagger from ECW. Batista came out to wild fanfare to start things off.

Batista spoke about how much he missed the wrestling ring and how he was driven by retribution for what Randy Orton did to him on Raw 4 months ago. During a match, Orton delivered a vicious punt kick to Batista's head, knocking him out of action. Batista discussed how the worst part was waiting to get his hands on Orton. Batista told Orton to stop hiding like a punk and come down to face him like a man, or he'd tear apart the arena to find him. After a few moments, Batista started to leave the ring ready to go hunt down Orton. Just then, Shane McMahon's music came on as Shane danced out to the ramp and came to the ring. Shane said if anyone's getting retribution tonight it's him based on what Orton did to the McMahon's. As the two started to argue over it, suddenly HHH's music came on and the Game made his way to the ring.

Triple H told Shane everything that went down with the McMahons is because Orton wanted revenge on HHH. Triple H explained to Batista that Orton tried to take his wife out. HHH said he started this and will make sure to finish it. As the three men started talking in the ring, suddenly Vickie Guerrero began screaming "Excuse me" as she was wheeled to the ramp by Chavo. Vickie said she's the only person to determine who faces Orton and the three of them will have a shot at him at Backlash. Vickie reminded Triple H that if their team loses in any fashion, Orton becomes the new WWE Champion. Vickie said she gave Randy Orton a well deserved night off but will give the 3 of them a chance for someone to face Orton next week. Vickie ordered that HHH, Shane and Batista would team up tonight to face Dibiase and Rhodes in a 3 vs. 2 handicap match. If Team Legacy wins, nobody faces Orton next week, but if HHH, Shane or Batista gets a pinfall, they get to face Orton next week on Raw.

Evan Bourne vs. Rey Mysterio

Early on the action spilled to the outside with Rey gaining control of the match. Both men displayed their high-flying and high-octane offense, trading control of the match. With Bourne in control he climbed the corner, but Rey quickly followed and used a headscissors to flip him down to the mat. Rey was able to hit a 619 on Bourne and then the splash off the corner to pickup the win, earning Raw the #1 draft pick.

Winner: Rey Mysterio wins via pinfall over Evan Bourne to earn Raw the #1 draft pick.

Since Raw earned the #1 draft pick, it was displayed on the Titantron that MVP was drafted to Raw. MVP came to the ramp tapping his US title belt and celebrating his #1 draft status.

Kane was shown backstage on his way out for a match.

WWE Hall of Famer Chief Jay Strongbow was shown seated in the front row at Raw.

The Brian Kendrick vs. Kane

Kendrick representing Smackdown came to the ring accompanied by Ezekiel Jackson. Kendrick slapped Kane after the bell ring, then ran to the outside and got behind Ezekiel Jackson. Kane promptly knocked Jackson down then caught Kendrick and threw him into the ring. Kendrick went for his finisher trying to run with Kane off the corner early. Kane avoided it and Chokeslammed Kendrick for a very quick win, earning Raw draft pick #2.

Winner: Kane wins by pinfall over The Brian Kendrick to earn Raw the #2 draft pick.

Raw with the #2 draft pick got The Big Show from Smackdown. Show came out onto the ramp briefly with Kane glaring at him from the ring.

Backstage, Vickie told Chavo how exciting it is to be new GM of Raw. Randy Orton burst into her office, angry about her decision to allow someone to face him one on one next week. Orton began ranting about how Raw is not the same as Smackdown and how she needs to make better decisions. Chavo tried to intervene and Orton yelled at him to shutup. Vickie said in the interest of fairness if Rhodes or Dibiase make a winning pinfall in tonight's match, whoever they pin has to face Orton, Rhodes & Dibiase in a 3 on 1 Handicap match next week. Orton looked at her and seemed somewhat pleased with the decision, then left.

Backstage, Jack Swagger came up to John Cena and told him "The champ is here". Swagger continued bragging about how he was going to win tonight and become the new face of WWE. Cena laughed at Jack Swagger calling himself "The All American American", and said he should think about calling himself "The All American Jackass". Swagger got upset and got in Cena's face, and Cena told him "welcome to Raw, tonight you'll get a lesson in respect... respect".

Mickie James, Melina and Kelly Kelly were shown walking backstage on their way out for the next matchup.

Mickie James, Melina & Kelly Kelly vs. Michelle McCoo, Maryse & Natalya

A six WWE divas tag team match would determine whether Smackdown or Raw would get the next draft pick. Early on the Smackdown divas started a catfight with each other so the Raw divas pounced on them. Everyone spilled out of the ring, but then Michelle and Mickie returned to the ring and the bell sounded. Michelle took the early advantage. Mickie regained control, eventually trying to jump off the corner at Michelle. McCool stuck a boot out as Mickie jumped, knocking Mickie out on the mat. Michelle took the pinfall to win Smackdown its first draft pick, pick #3.

Winners: Michelle McCool, Natalya and Maryse win via pinfall over Mickie James, Kelly Kelly and Melina to earn Smackdown the #3 draft pick.

At draft pick #3, WWE Womens Champion Melina was drafted over to Smackdown. Melina proudly held up her title in the ring after the announcement.

John Cena was shown walking backstage, ready for his next match against Jack Swagger.

Jerry Lawler and Michael Cole reviewed Raw's draft picks, while JR and Grisham discussed Smackdown's #3 pick, Melina.

John Cena vs. Jack Swagger

In a champion versus champion match, ECW's Swagger battled Raw's Cena. The winner of the match would earn their brand 2 draft picks. Early on Swagger got Cena down to the mat a few times and began cockily taunting Cena. Cena responded by knocking Swagger to the outside and knocking him down outside the ring. Swagger managed to get control back in the ring, hitting Cena in the corner and whipping him across the ring. Swagger used a hard clothesline to level Cena as he stood up. Cena started to fight back, but Swagger managed to lock a full nelson on him.

Cena used his power and strength to eventually battle out of Swagger's full nelson. As Cena gained momentum he threw shoulder blocks from off the rope then slammed Swagger to the mat. Cena followed with the Five Knuckle Shuffle, then hoisted Swagger up on his shoulders for the finisher. Swagger managed to grab the top ropes and got out of the hold, then kicked Cena down. Swagger tossed Cena shoulder first into the corner as Raw went to commercial.

As Raw returned, Swagger and Cena collided, with both men being counted down by the ref. Swagger continued to counter Cena's moves using great technical wrestling skills. Swagger ran and delivered a knee to Cena's head near the ropes but couldn't capture the pinfall. Cena slid off Swagger as he had the finisher up. Cena ran at him off the ropes but Swagger grabbed Cena for the powerslam. Swagger went to Splash down on Cena off the corner ropes, but Cena jumped up and grabbed him on his shoulders, then hit the Attitude Adjustment. Cena got on Cena with the STF to make Swagger finally tap out.

Winner: John Cena wins by submission over Jack Swagger to earn the #4 and #5 draft picks for Raw.

At the #4 draft pick, Raw received Matt Hardy from Smackdown. Hardy came to the ramp briefly to gloat. With the #5 pick, Raw struck gold as they received WWE Champion Triple H from Smackdown. Cena and HHH engaged in a staredown from ring to ramp. As Cena was distracted, Edge snuck into the ring and attacked him. Cena managed to regain control and Edge scurried out of the ring.

Cody Rhodes and Ted Dibiase met with Orton in the locker room. Orton asked what their strategy will be going into the match tonight, and they said they'll make sure they don't get along. Dibiase said he expects their opponents to get disqualified tonight just like they will at Backlash when Orton wins the title.

The Great Khali vs. Santino Marella

Before the match could start, Beth Phoenix and Rosa Mendes came to the top of the ramp. Beth told Santino she talked to Vickie Guerrero earlier and if Khali wins this match, Santina Marella will be a guest on the Khali Kiss Cam next week. Santino was frustrated and tried his best to punch away at Khali's midsection, but had no luck.

Khali began choking Santino against the ropes, and after the ref broke things up Santino continued hanging on the ropes. After he finally got loose, Santino ran off the ropes and right into the shoulder of Khali. As Marella stood up, Khali then chopped him right down to the mat and stood on him with one foot for the winning pin. Beth and Rosa smiled from the ramp, knowing that "Santina" is now forced to kiss the Great Khali.

Winner: The Great Khali wins via pinfall over Santino Marella to earn Smackdown the #6 draft pick.

At the #6 draft pick, Smackdown received Mr. 2009 Money in the Bank, CM Punk. Punk came onto the ramp briefcase in hand to celebrate.

Backstage, John Morrison and The Miz were shown walking on their way for the next interbrand draft match.

Kofi Kingston & vs. The Miz

Kofi represented Raw while The Miz represented ECW's potential draft pick, should he win. Kofi took an early advantage over Miz, but Miz soon made a comeback as he ran into Kofi from off the ropes. Kofi responded with a high-flying takedown of Miz and a shoulder hold. Kofi managed to gain control as he flipped Miz into the ropes and out of the ring. Miz and Morrison started to confer, and Kofi prepared to run and jump onto them. The pair moved away and Kofi stopped himself against the ropes. As Kofi finally ran over to dropkick Miz on the outside, Morrison came over. John backed off, but this allowed Miz to get in the ring and run to dropkick Kofi down. Miz gained control back in the ring.

Miz continued with control of things in the ring until Kofi got up from a headlock and rammed Miz into the corner. Kofi flipped Miz to the mat, then began to fight back as Miz charged at him. A high clothesline dropped Miz to the mat, but Miz rolled away from Kofi's double leg drop. Kofi did a bodypress splash off the corner, which Miz reversed. Kofi kicked out of the pinfall. As Kofi got up, Miz did a face first leg sweep, but again no 3 count. As the two fought it out, Kofi did a Jamaican leg sweep and then landed the double leg drop. Miz kicked out of Kofi's pin attempt.

Kofi gained momentum and eventually got on the corner to jump at Miz. Morrison got on the apron and swiped at him, but the ref saw it all, calling for the bell quickly.

Winner: Kofi Kingston wins due to disqualification over The Miz to win the #7 draft pick for Raw.

Following the match, the #7 draft pick was flashed up on screen as The Miz. Miz looked surprised and shaken up in the ring, realizing this would separate he and Morrison from their "bromance". Morrison gave him a hug, but Miz turned on Morrison, eventually planting him face first into the mat, then raising both his arms in a surprise moment.

15 Man Tri-Branded Battle Royal

Fice superstars from each brand competed in the match with two draft picks on the line. For Raw, MVP, Cryme Tyme, Mike Knox and Big Show participated. On behalf of ECW it was Finlay, Ricky Ortiz, Paul Burchill, Tyson Kidd and Mark Henry. For Smackdown it was Carlito and Primo Colon, Chavo Guerrero, R-Truth and Edge.

Ricky Ortiz was eliminated first, followed by Paul Burchill, leaving just 3 men for ECW. Big Show and Mark Henry eliminated several men including R-Truth and Tyson Kidd. Both of Cryme Tyme were eliminated. Big Show grabbed Carlito around the throat and forced him over the top rope. Mark Henry tossed out MVP. It came down to a final 3 of Edge, Big Show and Mark Henry. Edge celebrated as he threw out a man, but turned to see the massive Show and Henry eyeing him. Edge tried to form an alliance with Henry, but Henry wasn't having it. Show chokeslammed Edge down, and Mark Henry jumped on Show to attack from behind. As the two fought it out, Edge had rolled over to the side apron.

Mark Henry was put on the apron outside the rings by Show. Show punched away at him, finally eliminating Henry off the apron with a huge punch. Edge remained against Big Show, leaving Smackdown vs. Raw. Show laughed before he charged at Edge near the ropes. Edge pulled down the top rope and Show went right over, giving Smackdown the next 2 draft picks. This is the 2nd straight year Edge has won this battle royal.

Winner: Edge wins the Tri-branded Battle Royal to earn the #8 and #9 draft picks for Smackdown.

At the #8 pick, Smackdown received Kane, who came out to the ramp and exchanged looks with Edge in the ring. Next at #9, Smackdown picked up Chris Jericho, who came out to the ramp smirking. Grisham and JR noted how Edge and Jericho are longtime friends and discussed the fact they may form an alliance on Smackdown.

"Seasons" by Theveerunion will be the official theme song for the 2009 Backlash Pay-Per-View.

Chilli from the R&B group TLC was shown seated in the front row at Raw.

Christian vs. Shelton Benjamin

ECW's Christian tried to win his brand their first draft pick against Smackdown's Shelton Benjamin. Early on Shelton took Christian down then delivered a huge boot to him on the mat. Christian turned the tide as he kicked Shelton to the ropes, jumped over the top rope to the outside and punched Shelton hard. Christian went to the top of the corner for a move, but Shelton rushed up, grabbed him and flung Christian across the ring. Christian rolled outside for recovery time.

Shelton stayed in control back in the ring driving a knee into Christian's back. Shelton tried to jump back at Christian from off the corner, but Christian ducked it. Christian revved up the fans then punched Shelton down. Christian went for the Killswitch, but Benjamin countered it and slammed Christian for a pin. Christian managed to finally win one for ECW as he grabbed Shelton from the corner to hit the Killswitch.

Winner: Christian wins via pinfall over Shelton Benjamin to earn ECW the #10 draft pick.

The #10 draft pick for ECW was displayed on the screen as Vladimir Kozlov. Kozlov walked out to the ramp and stared down Christian who was in the ring.

The commentators ran down the matches we know for Backlash 2009 Pay-Per-View so far. A six man tag match involving Triple H, Batista and Shane McMahon versus Randy Orton, Cody Rhodes & Ted Dibiase as well as Edge versus John Cena for the World Heavyweight Title in a Last Man Standing match.

Shane McMahon came into the locker room where HHH was preparing and said "we're ok, so Orton's mine". HHH said Shane heard him earlier about Orton and if Batista were there he'd tell him the same. Batista was standing behind HHH. Triple H turned and told Batista if he heard him there's no reason to repeat it. Batista said "I heard, every man for himself". The Animal smirked and bumped Triple H as he left the locker room. Shane left next, and Triple H began to psych himself up for the contest.

It was announced that "Lord of the Ring" will air on ESPN E60 at 7PM EST Tuesday. It will be a documentary profiling WWE Chairman Vince McMahon on the eve of Wrestlemania 25.

Jeff got up on the corner for a Swanton, but Matt noticed and quickly escaped the ring. Jeff chased his brother out into the back through the crowd.

Back in the ring, Punk was upset when the ref awarded the match to Matt Hardy due to Smackdown's Jeff Hardy interfering.

Once again momentum shifted and Jericho had Dreamer down in a headlock. Dreamer powered to his feet, then punched Jericho to escape. With several clotheslines Dreamer had control, then managed to get Jericho hanging in the Tree of Woe in the corner. Dreamer ran and connected on a dropkick to Jericho's shoulder, then was about to hit his finisher. Jericho reversed it and started trying for the Walls of Jericho. Dreamer shoved Jericho with his feet, and as Jericho came back off the ropes, Dreamer rolled him into a pinfall. Jericho escaped barely from that and another pinfall attempt.

Dreamer got to the top ropes but Jericho ran over to knock him off balance. Jericho climbed up to fight Dreamer, but Tommy shoved him off. As Dreamer jumped off at Jericho, Chris quickly grabbed him and hit the Code Breaker in the air.

Winner: Chris Jericho wins via pinfall over Tommy Dreamer to earn the #12 draft pick for Smackdown.

All day Wednesday, starting at 12PM EST/(9PACIFIC) will be the WWE 2009 Supplemental Draft on WWE.com.

It was announced that Matt Hardy will battle the Undertaker this Thursday on WGN America's premiere episode of WWE Superstars.

Shane McMahon, Batista & Triple H vs. Cody Rhodes & Ted Dibiase

As the bell rang, Triple H and Batista were still arguing, so Shane McMahon took initiative and charged over to level Cody Rhodes with a clothesline. Shane gained major momentum, stomping into Cody in the corner, then flying at him with an elbow. Shane started to punch at Cody repeatedly and dance around him, but was close to Batista, so The Animal tagged his back. Shane stared at Batista who immediately went at Dibiase who had also tagged in.

Batista stayed in control and eventually had Dibiase up on one shoulder. Batista was near his tag partners, and HHH grabbed Dibiase's leg to pull him onto the apron. HHH then punched Dibiase down. As Batista turned to look at HHH, The Game slapped Batista's shoulder to tag himself in. HHH continued momentum against Dibiase, until Dibiase got a boot into Triple H in the corner. HHH responded with a big Spinebuster. HHH covered for the pin but Batista got in and pulled HHH off by his leg. HHH got up and looked at Batista, and the moment's dirstraction allowed Dibiase to clip HHH's leg. Rhodes and Dibiase began to tag each other to work on HHH and keep him away from a tag.

Batista and Shane tried to cheer on HHH to get over for a tag as Legacy continued to dominate The Game with the doubleteam. Rhodes and Dibiase worked to try to dismantle him via stomps to the leg and body repeatedly. HHH finally was able to stand and flip Rhodes over his back, but the Game's leg was hurting. HHH managed to crawl over and tagged in Batista who gained serious momentum. Batista knocked Rhodes off the apron then did a running slam with Dibiase for the pin. Rhodes came in and Shane ran in to clothesline him over the ropes to the outside. Batista hit a Spinebuster then prepared for a Batista Bomb. Batista hit it and pinned Dibiase, but Shane McMahon got in the ring and hit Batista to stop the pin.

Batista shoved Shane to the corner, and as the two were arguing, HHH got onto the apron and slapped Batista to become legal man. Shane tackled Batista and the two rolled to the outside fighting. HHH managed to hit the Pedigree and scored the winning pinfall. The Game gets to face Randy Orton on next week's episode of Raw. Orton came out to the ramp to engage in a staredown with Hunter as Raw ended.

Winner: Triple H scores the winning pinfall for his team against Dibiase & Rhodes and will get to face Randy Orton on next week's Raw.

Raw Preview 04.13.09

Tonight's special edition of Raw airs live from Atlanta, Georgia, and will hold the WWE's 2009 Draft (2009 WWE Draft preview). As WWE commentators have mentioned on ECW, Raw and Smackdown, the entire landscape of the various rosters could change with tonight's draft. Last year saw some big names make major moves such as Batista and Rey Mysterio moving to Raw and Triple H being drafted to Smackdown. Matt Hardy moved to ECW where he went on to become the ECW champion. Will any more current champions be drafted away from their current rosters? Tonight's 2009 WWE Draft is sure to shake things up, but who will be drafted where?

Last week, the WWE Universe also learned that WWE Raw now has an official General Manager, Vickie Guerrero. Vickie informed everyone that the WWE Board of Directors gave her the choice of Smackdown or Raw for the GM position. Vickie ultimately decided on Raw because she felt it needed a "breath of fresh air". In the same night as she made her announcement, she also made several more huge announcements impacting the Backlash Pay-Per-View. First off, Vickie announced that the six man tag match between Orton, Rhodes & Dibiase versus Vince McMahon, Triple H and Shane would have a championship stipulation. If Triple H's team wins the match, then Triple H retains the WWE championship. However if anyone on Randy Orton's team wins the match, then Randy Orton will become the new WWE champion. Vickie also made the announcement that her husband Edge would have a rematch at Backlash for the World Heavyweight Title against current champ John Cena. Vickie added a stipulation to this match as well, making it a "Last Man Standing Match". What will Raw's new General Manager have in store next for the WWE superstars, and will she continue the same power trip she had on Smackdown?

And in the biggest surprise of last week, fans witnessed the exciting return of The Animal, Batista. During a singles match between Chairman Vince McMahon and Randy Orton, Shane McMahon rushed to the ring to prevent Orton from delivering a punt kick to Mr. McMahon's head. From there, Legacy got involved as did Triple H. With Vince McMahon unable to fight, it became a 3 on 2 beatdown by Legacy on Shane & Triple H. To the amazement of the fans and everyone in the ring, Batista's music came on and The Animal charged to the ring ready to go. Batista quickly chased off Orton, unable to get his hands on him, but he was able to deliver the trademark Batista Bomb on Cody Rhodes as a future hint at what may be in store for the Legend Killer. Promptly after the melee, Vince McMahon got on the mic to announce that Batista would be replacing him in the Six man tag match at Backlash. Orton seemed seriously upset at the adding of The Animal to the championship matchup. What will Legacy's next move be against the McMahon's, Triple H and/or Batista?

Catch all the action of WWE Raw as well as the special 3 hour edition featuring the WWE Draft. Raw has a special start time Monday night at 8PM EST on USA!

Randy Orton vs. Triple H Timeline

wwe randy orton raw superstar
(Wrestlemania 25 matches: Orton vs. HHH)

The feud between Randy Orton and Triple H which will become a heated match at Wrestlemania 25 for the WWE title, has been building for years now. According to Randy Orton, it all started 5 years ago with Triple H's ambush attack, betraying his trust and confidence. The young superstar snapped at that moment and started formulating a plan to gain the most heinous revenge he could by taking away what mattered most to Triple H. What follows here are the events, matches and incidents that have supercharged this feud, starting back in 2004, up until they have one of the most highly-anticipated Wrestlemania 25 matches.

(2004 RAW) Orton is betrayed by Evolution - It was in 2004 when Randy Orton made his surge to superstardom. He was a member of the Evolution team along with Triple H, Ric Flair and Batista, and being groomed as the future of the team. Orton had dropped the Intercontinental title but soon captured the World Heavyweight Championship. On the following night's episode of Monday Night Raw, Triple H, Flair and Batista threw a fake celebration for the new champion. With Orton hoisted up on Batista's shoulders celebrating, HHH gave the thumbs down sign and Batista dropped back, slamming Orton to the mat. From there, a vicious beatdown ensued, with an angry, jealous HHH leading the way and screaming at Orton. This event, according to Orton, is what motivated him to seek revenge on HHH and begin formulating a team, and a plan.

(Wrestlemania 24 2008) Orton defends WWE Title vs. HHH/Cena -
While not an integral part of the feud timeline, it should be noted that Orton and HHH tangled at last year's Wrestlemania, with Orton defending the WWE title. John Cena was also part of the match, making it a Triple Threat. Wrestlemania 24 Results

(10/7/07 No Mercy PPV) Orton is Last Man Standing over HHH - With WWE Champion John Cena suffering an unfortunate injury prior to the event, he was forced to vacate his WWE title. At No Mercy, William Regal and Vince McMahon officially presented the vacated title to Randy Orton, who was the #1 contender. Orton was scheduled to face Cena at the event in a Last man Standing match. With Cena unable to compete, Triple H immediately showed up to contest for the title. In the opening match of the PPV, he defeated Orton and took away the title. Vince McMahon forced HHH to defend the title again that same night to Umaga, and after HHH won that match, Vince told him he needed to defend again against Orton. The two fought in the originally scheduled Last Man Standing Match with Orton coming out on top as WWE Champ. 2007 No Mercy PPV results

(12/1/08 RAW) Legacy forms - Randy Orton held a series of test matches to find the right men for his Legacy group on Raw. Originally it was, Orton telling Cody Rhodes, Sim Snuka, and Manu they'd be part of his team. Orton surprisingly ordered Snuka out of the group due to not getting a win, and then Ted Dibiase made a surprise return from an injury he sustained (by Orton), to replace Manu. The team dismantled Snuka and Manu before officially aligning themselves as a unit. The team, called Legacy had now been formed and was ready to begin annihilating WWE superstars, helping Orton to start to gain his revenge on Triple H. Raw Recap & Results 12/1/08

(1/19/09 RAW) Mr. McMahon Punt Kicked - The event that shocked the world went down days ahead of the 2009 Royal Rumble. On Raw Randy Orton had officially crossed the line when he insulted Stephanie McMahon backstage, and then once again out in the ring. The second time, Orton made the mistake of insulting her in from of a visiting WWE Chairman, Vince McMahon, Stephanie's father. Vince sent Steph backstage and demanded Orton issue an apology in the ring. The brash Orton refused to do so, and Vince prepared to tell him he was fired. Before Vince could even finish those famous words, Orton kicked him down to the mat, then delivered a vicious punt kick to Vince's head. The scene ended with Stephanie crying as her father was being removed from the ring by medical personnel. Raw Recap & Results 01/19/09

(01/25/09 Royal Rumble) Orton tosses HHH to win Rumble - The 2009 Royal Rumble came down to an interesting foursome: Cody Rhodes, Ted Dibiase, Randy Orton and Triple H. This of course made for a 3 on 1 situation in which HHH had to try to overcome tough odds to win the match. He managed to eliminate both Rhodes and Dibiase, but those sacrifices allowed Orton to rush over and toss HHH from the ring. Winning the 2009 Royal Rumble allowed Randy Orton to make the choice of which title he would go for at Wrestlemania 25. 2009 Royal Rumble Results

(01/26/09 RAW) Orton tells WWE Universe he has IED - Orton used a lie on the following episode of Raw to explain why he punt kicked the Chairman Vince McMahon. With lawyers and therapists surrounding him in the ring he delivered a written apology and cited Intermittent Explosive Disorder (IED) as the reason he just snapped in the ring, not realizing his rage lead to the violent attack on Mr. McMahon. Along with his apology, Orton told Stephanie McMahon if she tried to fire him over the incident, he would sue her and WWE, and get an order to prevent Wrestlemania 25 from taking place. Shane McMahon eventually showed up and came down to the ring to extract some revenge on Orton for what went down on Raw the week before. Shane amazingly was able to fight through Rhodes and Dibiase to continue pummeling Orton. The fight carried on to the top of the ramp where other WWE Superstars were assembled as well. Raw Recap & Results 01/26/09

(02/15/09 No Way Out) Shane vs. Orton I At the 2009 No Way Out Pay-Per-View Shane McMahon had challenged Orton to a No Holds Barred match to try to gain some revenge after Orton's punt kick to his father. The match was an all-out war involving steel chairs and the commentary table but in the end when Shane charged at Orton in the ring, he fell victim to the RKO, losing the match. Round 1 had ended for that night, with Orton limping away and not punt kicking Shane. No Way Out 2009 Results

(02/16/09 RAW) Shane vs. Orton II, RKO on Steph - On Monday Night Raw just one night after their No Holds Barred match, Shane issued another challenge to fight Orton. The two battled in the ring and out into the crowd, literally beating the hell out of each other. Orton's Legacy team had his back once again, as they came out to eventually help Orton beatdown Shane. Orton finished things with a Puntkick to Shane which brought Stephanie out to check on her brother's condition. As she began to question why Orton did what he did, Orton responded with an RKO to Stephanie. Triple H had just arrived to the ring and rushed down to check on his fallen wife. Orton left the ring with an enraged HHH glaring out at him on the ramp, with Stephanie laying nearby. Raw Recap & Results 02/16/09

(02/23/09 RAW) Triple H Sledgehammer Melee - After Orton layed his hands on Triple H's real life wife, Stephanie McMahon, the Game was fueled by rage and decided to take matters into his own hands. Those hands were of course holding a lethal sledgehammer which The Game was holding when he chased Legacy out of the ring, backstage and into the parking garage. In the process he managed to smash dressing room doors, mirrors and a window in Legacy's getaway car. Orton narrowly escaped being hit by the sledgehammer in the dressing room, but Dibiase felt the force of it on the back of his head. Triple H threw the sledgehammer at their car as it sped away, and it was apparent this feud was only going to keep escalating. Raw Recap & Results 02/23/09

(03/02/09 RAW) Orton chooses WWE Title for WM25 - Orton initially came to the ring surrounded by his lawyers, doctors and Cody Rhodes & Ted Dibiase, along with several security guards ready to take down HHH if he arrived. Orton informed everyone that HHH would be in jail and unable to defend the WWE title at Wrestlemania 25, so instead Orton would go for the World Heavyweight Title. The Game showed up, came to the ring and was able to incite Orton into choosing to face him at Wrestlemania 25. Raw Recap & Results 03/02/09

(03/06/09 Smackdown) Legacy attacks HHH -
During the main event on Smackdown, Triple H faced the Samoan Bulldozer, Umaga in a singles match. However, Legacy decided to crash the party with Rhodes, Dibiase & Orton all attacking The Game. This of course violated the stipulation Orton had announced on Raw, where neither he nor Triple H could lay a hand on the other man until Wrestlemania 25. Smackdown Recap & Results 03/06/09

(03/09/09 RAW) The Orton Home Invason - During Raw, Randy Orton was interviewed live via sattellite from his St Louis, MO home, alongside his wife Samantha. The main event scheduled was Triple H versus Cody Rhodes & Ted Dibiase, but HHH never showed, making the match a forefeit. Instead, WWE Champion Triple H while wielding a Sledgehammer, showed up to break into Randy Orton's St. Louis home looking for some serious revenge. After terrifying Orton's wife, HHH stalked around the home in search of Orton. When all was said and done, Orton jumped out of a closet and the two men got into it. Eventually an angry HHH was the one landing more punches, and he tossed Orton right through the front of his own home onto the front lawn. Police soon arrived, cuffing HHH and putting him in the squad car, only after Orton got in a sucker punch. Raw Recap & Results 03/09/09

(03/16/09 RAW) HHH takes out Rhodes in Steel Cage - HHH once again gained a psychological edge against Randy Orton as he entered into a one-on-one fight with Cody Rhodes on Raw. Orton came to the ramp with Ted Dibiase to watch the match, and to their dismay HHH had a steel cage lowered around the ring. With his trusty sledgehammer in hand, The Game dismantled Rhodes in the ring, eventually scoring a pinfall victory. Later in the night, HHH took off in his SUV with wife Stephanie McMahon, indicating she had used her power to order the steel cage stipulation. Raw Recap & Results 03/16/09

(03/23/09 Raw) HHH Helpless as Stephanie RKO'd - Orton said it was time to up the ante and indeed he did. While it was originally slated as HHH versus Dibiase and Orton in a handicap match, it ended up being 3 on 1 when Cody Rhodes snuck out from under the ring. The trio overpowered The Game, eventually cuffing him to the top rope. With HHH being beaten up, Orton retrieved the sledgehammer and announced only one person could stop this. That person, Stephanie McMahon rushed to the ring, but to a trap. Unable to exit, she was stuck on the apron where Orton grabbed her RKO'd her, then kissed her right in front of a helpless HHH. To finish the ordeal he clocked HHH with the Sledgehammer. Raw Recap & Results 03/23/09

(03/30/09 Raw) - The Return of the McMahons - To the surprise of the Texas crowd, first Chairman Vince McMahon returned to the Raw scene, followed by his son Shane. Both had been the victims of Orton's misdeeds, and they walked down to the ring side by side with HHH, as Legacy and security guards stood waiting. The trio then beat up the security team before heading to the ring. Shane and Vince promptly took care of Rhodes & Dibiase, leaving Orton for Triple H. The two fought ferociously inside the ring with HHH seeming to be beating up Orton as Raw left the air. WWE Raw Recap & Results 03/30/09

Jericho said the "has-beens" are weak, insecure hypocrites and liars who need to be shut up for their own good. As Jericho continued denouncing "legends", all of a sudden Rowdy Roddy Piper's theme music came on as Piper emerged from backstage to fan applause.

Piper got into the ring and started telling Jericho how he used to respect him as a wrestler for backing up what he said. Piper asked why Jericho is now running his mouth calling out the legends, then told Jericho "Please shut the hell up!", stealing Jericho's own quote. Piper defended Mickey Rourke as his friend and his acting job in "The Wrestler". Piper discussed all the great memories he's had in wrestling on behalf of the fans and said he'd crawl to the ring one last time to give the fans another memorable moment. In the ring, Bradshaw said as of last night Shawn Michaels is no longer his employee. JBL said he had a large check signed over to Michaels last night, and Michaels still owns his name. JBL said the payment to Michaels was a drop in the bucket for him, because he's still richer than everyone in the arena combined. JBL said he has his eyes set on a new prize, The Undertaker's streak 16-0. JBL said he's going to head to Wrestlemania 25 and end that streak so the fans will know he's the greatest wrestling entity ever. Just then, Shawn Michaels' theme music hit and Michaels came down to the ring ecstatically.

HBK reminded JBL he can't tell him what to do anymore. Michaels proposed they wrestle next week with the winner earning the right to challenge Undertaker at Wrestlemania 25. JBL then started poking his fingers into JBL's chest just as JBL did to him weeks ago. Michaels told JBL he'll be lucky if he even makes it to Wrestlemania now.

Highlights were shown to chronicle the events between Randy Orton, Stephanie, Shane and Vince McMahon over weeks past, leading to tonight's unsanctioned match. Shane McMahon was shown preparing himself in a backstage hallway.

Rey Mysterio vs. Mike Knox

Mysterio came to the ring looking beat up after last night's Elimination Chamber where he was the final wrestler to face Edge. Knox began to work on Mysterio kicking him in the corner, then putting Rey onto his shoulder. Rey slid off, but Knox came back to level him with a vicious clothesline. Mysterio escaped when Knox charged at him in the corner, but as Rey tried to jump at Knox, Knox simply batted him down. Knox picked up Rey and tossed him face first through the bottom rope to the outside.

As Raw returned, Rey tried to mount a comeback, but once again Knox knocked him to the mat. Knox went for a cover with Mysterio kicking out at 2. At one point Knox picked up Rey in a Bear Hug to squeeze the life out of him. Mysterio finally escaped it and was able to kick Knox in the back of the head, sending him to the middle rope for the 619. Mysterio then went for a springboard off the rope at Knox who avoided it. Rey landed on his feet then tried to do a backflip off the ropes, but Knox caught him from the air. Knox hung Rey upside down in the corner and started beating on him. As the ref backed Knox away from Rey, Knox started to charge. Rey flipped himself up out of the way causing Knox to run shoulder first into the ringpost. From there Rey was able to roll up Knox for the quick pinfall victory.

Winner: Rey Mysterio wins via pinfall over Mike Knox.

Beth Phoenix was shown walking backstage with Santino Marella and WWE Diva Rosa Mendes. Beth told them tonight they'd help her win back the Womens Title.

Beth Phoenix vs. Melina
WWE Womens Title Match

Beth continued to beat up Melina, until Melina escaped and tried to mount a comeback. Melina went to the side apron to kick away at Beth, but The Glamazon responded by knocking Melina off the apron. Rosa Mendes ran over to kick Melina in the gut, and Santino went to assist. Just then, Candice, Kelly Kelly and Mickie James rushed down the ramp to beat up Santino and Rosa. The distraction allowed Melina to get back into the ring and with Beth's focus taken away, Melina quickly rolled her into the pinfall.

Rosa Mendes and Santino rushed into the ring to comfort Beth and apologize for the mishap.

Winner: Melina wins via pinfall over Beth Phoenix to retain the WWE Women's Title.

Terry and Dory Funk Jr were announced as the latest 2009 WWE Hall of Fame Inductees. The famous pair will be inducted by Dusty Rhodes.

Replay highlights were shown from earlier on Raw when John Cena came to the ring to congratulate and challenge new World Heavyweight Champion, Edge. Cena told Edge they will fight and he's gonna hurt him.

Stephanie was shown backstage telling someone on her cell phone that Shane insisted on fighting Orton again tonight. Stephanie told the caller to hurry then the call seemed to cut out as Stephanie threw her phone down.

Shane McMahon vs. Randy Orton
Unsanctioned Match

Shane didn't even wait for Orton to get to the ring as he rushed out to attack him. Shane continued beating up Orton over the crowd barrier, then leaped from off the barrier to clothesline Orton to the pavement. The two continued fighting through the crowd, with Shane smashing a water bottle in Orton's face, then punching away at him. Orton started to fight back, eventually bouncing Shane face first into a table nearby, then unloading punches on him. Orton continued beating up Shane, slamming him face first into the announce table and then the steel steps.

Back in the ring, Orton continued punishing Shane, punching him hard in the face. Shane fell out of the ring to the floor, and Orton came back out to ram him into the apron several times. Shane managed to gain energy and rushed Orton, toppling over the commentators' table with him. Shane started beating Orton with Jerry Lawler's chair near the crowd barrier, then grabbed the ring bell. As Orton stood Shane clocked him with the bell causing Orton to fall back. Shane rolled Orton back into the ring and sat him in the corner then grabbed the ring bell to hit Orton in the back of the skull. With Orton seemingly unconscious, Shane set a chair in front of him in the corner, then prepared for the Coast to Coast off the ropes. As Shane got up on the corner to jump, suddenly Priceless rushed into the ring to knock Shane to the mat and attack him.

Rhodes and Dibiase beat Shane down as Orton staggered over. Orton prepared for a Punt kick as he watched Shane trying to get up on the mat. With Shane on all fours, Orton ran over and delivered another vicious Punt Kick, leaving Shane down on the mat. Stephanie rushed to the ring to check on her brother with Legacy still in the ring. Orton started to eye Stephanie and walked over to stare down at Shane. Stephanie stood up and began to confront Orton for what he just did. Out of nowhere Orton grabbed Stephanie and RKO'd her. With both McMahons down and officials checking on them, Orton staggered back and fell against the ropes realizing what he just did. All of a sudden, Triple H came rushing out from backstage and down to the ring. Legacy cleared out of the ring fast with The Game enraged as he checked on Steph. Triple H was fuming and almost convulsing as he stared out the ring at Orton who was up the ramp.

Winner: No winner announced in unsanctioned match with Shane McMahon left unconscious by Randy Orton.
